أيُّوب 36

١ 1 وَاسْتَطْرَدَ أَلِيهُو:

Elihu also continued, and said,

٢ 2 «تَحَمَّلْنِي قَلِيلاً فَأَزِيدَكَ اطِّلاَعاً، فَمَازَالَ عِنْدِي مَا أَقُولُهُ نِيَابَةً عَنِ اللهِ،

“Bear with me a little, and I will show you; for I still have something to say on God’s behalf.

٣ 3 لأَنِّي أَتَلَقَّى عِلْمِي مِنْ بَعِيدٍ وَأَعْزُو بِرّاً لِصَانِعِي.

I will get my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

٤ 4 حَقّاً إِنَّ كَلاَمِي صَادِقٌ، لأَنَّ الْكَامِلَ فِي الْمَعْرِفَةِ حَاضِرٌ مَعَكَ.

For truly my words are not false. One who is perfect in knowledge is with you.

٥ 5 اللهُ قَدِيرٌ وَلَكِنَّهُ لاَ يَحْتَقِرُ الإِنْسَانَ، هُوَ قَدِيرٌ عَظِيمُ الْقُدْرَةِ وَالْفَهْمِ.

“Behold, God is mighty, and doesn’t despise anyone. He is mighty in strength of understanding.

٦ 6 لاَ يُبْقِي عَلَى حَيَاةِ الشِّرِّيرِ إِنَّمَا يَقْضِي حَقَّ الْبَائِسِينَ.

He doesn’t preserve the life of the wicked, but gives justice to the afflicted.

٧ 7 لاَ يَغُضُّ طَرْفَهُ عَنِ الصِّدِّيقِينَ، بَلْ يُقِيمُهُمْ مَعَ الْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْعُرُوشِ إِلَى الأَبَدِ فَيَتَعَظَّمُونَ.

He doesn’t withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne, he sets them forever, and they are exalted.

٨ 8 وَإِنْ رُبِطُوا بِالْقُيُودِ، وَوَقَعُوا فِي حِبَالِ الشَّقَاءِ،

If they are bound in fetters, and are taken in the cords of afflictions,

٩ 9 عِنْدَئِذٍ يُبْدِي لَهُمْ أَفْعَالَهُمْ وَآثَامَهُمْ إِذْ سَلَكُوا بِغُرُورٍ.

then he shows them their work, and their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves proudly.

١٠ 10 يَفْتَحُ آذَانَهُمْ لِتَحْذِيرَاتِهِ، وَيَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالتَّوْبَةِ عَنْ إِثْمِهِمْ.

He also opens their ears to instruction, and commands that they return from iniquity.

١١ 11 فَإِنْ أَطَاعُوا وَعَبَدُوهُ، يَقْضُونَ أَيَّامَهُمْ بِرَغْدٍ، وَسِنِيهِمْ بِالنِّعَمِ.

If they listen and serve him, they will spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

١٢ 12 وَلَكِنْ إِنْ عَصَوْا فَبِحَدِّ السَّيْفِ يَهْلِكُوا، وَيَمُوتُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ فَهْمٍ.

But if they don’t listen, they will perish by the sword; they will die without knowledge.

١٣ 13 أَمَّا فُجَّارُ الْقُلُوبِ فَيَذْخَرُونَ لأَنْفُسِهِمْ غَضَباً، وَلاَ يَسْتَغِيثُونَ بِاللهِ حِينَ يُعَاقِبُهُمْ.

“But those who are godless in heart lay up anger. They don’t cry for help when he binds them.

١٤ 14 يَمُوتُونَ فِي الصِّبَا بَيْنَ مَأْبُونِي الْمَعَابِدِ.

They die in youth. Their life perishes amongst the unclean.

١٥ 15 أَمَّا الْمُبْتَلَوْنَ فَيُنْقِذُهُمْ فِي بَلاَئِهِمْ، وَبِالضِّيقِ يَفْتَحُ آذَانَهُمْ.

He delivers the afflicted by their affliction, and opens their ear in oppression.

١٦ 16 يَجْتَذِبُكَ مِنَ الضِّيقِ إِلَى رَحْبٍ طَلِيقٍ، وَيَمْلأُ مَائِدَتَكَ بِالأَطْعِمَةِ الدَّسِمَةِ.

Yes, he would have allured you out of distress, into a wide place, where there is no restriction. That which is set on your table would be full of fatness.

١٧ 17 وَلَكِنَّكَ مُثْقَلٌ بِالدَّيْنُونَةِ الْوَاقِعَةِ عَلَى الأَشْرَارِ، فَالدَّعْوَى وَالْقَضَاءُ يُمْسِكَانِكَ.

“But you are full of the judgement of the wicked. Judgement and justice take hold of you.

١٨ 18 فَاحْرِصْ لِئَلاَّ يُغْرِيَكَ الغَضَبُ بالسُّخْرِيَةِ، أَوْ تَصْرِفَكَ الرِّشْوَةُ الْعَظِيمَةُ عَنِ الحَقِّ

Don’t let riches entice you to wrath, neither let the great size of a bribe turn you aside.

١٩ 19 أَيُمْكِنُ لِثَرَائِكَ أَوْ لِجُهُودِكَ الْجَبَّارَةِ أَنْ تَدْعَمَكَ فَلاَ تَغْرَقَ فِي الْكَآبَةِ؟

Would your wealth sustain you in distress, or all the might of your strength?

٢٠ 20 لاَ تَتَشَوَّقْ إِلَى اللَّيْلِ حَتَّى تَجُرَّ النَّاسَ خَارِجاً مِنْ بُيُوتِهِمْ.

Don’t desire the night, when people are cut off in their place.

٢١ 21 احْتَرِسْ أَنْ تَتَحَوَّلَ إِلَى الشَّرِّ، فَإِنَّ هَذَا مَا اخْتَرْتَهُ عِوَضاً عَنِ الشَّقَاءِ.

Take heed, don’t regard iniquity; for you have chosen this rather than affliction.

٢٢ 22 انْظُرْ، إِنَّ اللهَ يَتَمَجَّدُ فِي قُوَّتِهِ. أَيُّ مُعَلِّمٍ نَظِيرُهُ؟

Behold, God is exalted in his power. Who is a teacher like him?

٢٣ 23 مَنْ سَنَّ لَهُ طُرُقَهُ أَوْ قَالَ لَهْ: لَقَدِ ارْتَكَبْتَ خَطَأً؟

Who has prescribed his way for him? Or who can say, ‘You have committed unrighteousness’?

٢٤ 24 لاَ تَنْسَ أَنْ تُعَظِّمَ عَمَلَهُ الَّذِي يَتَغَنَّى بِهِ النَّاسُ.

“Remember that you magnify his work, about which men have sung.

٢٥ 25 لَقَدْ شَهِدَهُ النَّاسُ كُلُّهُمْ، وَتَفَرَّسُوا فِيهِ مِنْ بَعِيدٍ.

All men have looked on it. Man sees it afar off.

٢٦ 26 فَمَا أَعْظَمَ اللهَ! وَنَحْنُ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ، وَعَدَدُ سِنِيهِ لاَ يُسْتَقْصَى.

Behold, God is great, and we don’t know him. The number of his years is unsearchable.

٢٧ 27 لأَنَّهُ يَجْتَذِبُ قَطَرَاتِ الْمَاءِ، وَيَجْعَلُ سُحُبَهُ تَهْطِلُ أَمْطَاراً،

For he draws up the drops of water, which distill in rain from his vapour,

٢٨ 28 تَسْكُبُهَا السَّمَاوَاتُ وَتَصُبُّهَا بِغَزَارَةٍ عَلَى الإِنْسَانِ.

which the skies pour down and which drop on man abundantly.

٢٩ 29 أَهُنَاكَ مَنْ يَفْهَمُ كَيْفَ تَنْتَشِرُ السُّحُبُ، وَكَيْفَ تُرْعِدُ سَمَاؤُهُ؟

Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds and the thunderings of his pavilion?

٣٠ 30 فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ بَسَطَ بُرُوقَهُ حَوَالَيْهِ وَتَسَرْبَلَ بِلُجَجِ الْبَحْرِ.

Behold, he spreads his light around him. He covers the bottom of the sea.

٣١ 31 هَكَذَا يُطْعِمُ اللهُ الشُّعُوبَ وَيُزَوِّدُهُمْ بِالْغِذَاءِ بِوَفْرَةٍ.

For by these he judges the people. He gives food in abundance.

٣٢ 32 يَمْلأُ يَدَيْهِ بِالْبُرُوقِ وَيَأْمُرُهَا أَنْ تُصِيبَ الْهَدَفَ.

He covers his hands with the lightning, and commands it to strike the mark.

٣٣ 33 إِنَّ رَعْدَهُ يُنْذِرُ بِاقْتِرَابِ الْعَاصِفَةِ، وَحَتَّى الْمَاشِيَةُ تُنْبِئُ بِدُنُوِّهَا.

Its noise tells about him, and the livestock also, concerning the storm that comes up.
