إشَعْياء 33

١ 1 وَيْلٌ لَكَ أَيُّهَا الْمُدَمِّرُ الَّذِي لَمْ تُدَمَّرْ بَعْدُ، وَالنَّاهِبُ الَّذِي لَمْ يَنْهَبُوكَ، فَعِنْدَمَا تَكُفُّ عَنِ التَّدْمِيرِ تُدَمَّرُ، وَحِينَ تَمْتَنِعُ عَنِ النَّهْبِ يَنْهَبُونَكَ.

Woe to thee that spoylest, and wast not spoyled: and doest wickedly, and they did not wickedly against thee: when thou shalt cease to spoyle, thou shalt be spoyled: when thou shalt make an ende of doing wickedly, they shall doe wickedly against thee.

٢ 2 يَارَبُّ ارْحَمْنَا. إِيَّاكَ انْتَظَرْنَا، كُنْ عَضُدَنَا فِي الصَّبَاحِ، وَخَلاَصَنَا فِي أَثْنَاءِ الْمِحْنَةِ.

O Lord, haue mercie vpon vs, wee haue waited for thee: be thou, which waste their arme in the morning, our helpe also in time of trouble.

٣ 3 مِنْ صَوْتِ ضَجِيجِكَ هَرَبَتِ الشُّعُوبُ، وَمِنَ ارْتِفَاعِكَ تَبَدَّدَتِ الأُمَمُ،

At the noise of the tumult, the people fled: at thine exalting the nations were scattered.

٤ 4 وَكَمَا يَلْتَهِمُ الْجَرَادُ كُلَّ مَا هُوَ أَخْضَرُ، هَكَذَا يُجْمَعُ سَلَبُكُمْ، وَيَتَوَاثَبُ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ كَتَوَاثُبِ الْجَنَادِبِ.

And your spoyle shall be gathered like the gathering of caterpillers: and he shall go against him like the leaping of grashoppers.

٥ 5 الرَّبُّ مُتَعَظِّمٌ لأَنَّهُ سَاكِنٌ فِي الْعَلاَءِ. يَمْلأُ صِهْيَوْنَ عَدْلاً وَحَقّاً.

The Lord is exalted: for hee dwelleth on hie: he hath filled Zion with iudgement and iustice.

٦ 6 هُوَ ضَمَانُ أَزْمَانِكَ وَوَفْرَةُ خَلاَصٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ وَمَعْرِفَةٍ، وَتَكُونُ مَخَافَةُ الرَّبِّ كَنْزَهُ.

And there shall be stabilitie of thy times, strength, saluation, wisdome and knowledge: for the feare of the Lord shalbe his treasure.

٧ 7 هَا رُسُلُكُمْ يَنُوحُونَ خَارِجاً، وَمُمَثِّلُو السَّلاَمِ يَبْكُونَ بِمَرَارَةٍ.

Behold, their messengers shall cry without, and ye ambassadours of peace shall weepe bitterly.

٨ 8 أَقْفَرَتِ الطُّرُقُ وَخَلَتْ مِنْ عَابِرِي السَّبِيلِ، نَقَضَ الْعَهْدَ وَازْدَرَى شُهُودَهُ، وَلَمْ تَعُدْ لِلإِنْسَانِ قِيمَةٌ.

The pathes are waste: the wayfaring man ceaseth: hee hath broken the couenant: hee hath contemned the cities: he regarded no man.

٩ 9 نَاحَتِ الأَرْضُ وَذَوَتْ. خَجِلَ لُبْنَانُ وَذَبُلَ، وَصَارَ شَارُونُ كَالْبَرِّيَّةِ، وَنَفَضَ بَاشَانُ وَالْكَرْمَلُ عَنْهُمَا أَوْرَاقَهُمَا.

The earth mourneth and fainteth: Lebanon is ashamed, and hewen downe: Sharon is like a wildernes, and Bashan is shaken and Carmel.

١٠ 10 فَقَالَ الرَّبُّ: «الآنَ أَقُومُ، الآنَ أَنْهَضُ وَأَتَعَظَّمُ،

Now will I arise, saith the Lord: now will I be exalted, now will I lift vp my selfe.

١١ 11 فَكُلُّ مَا بَذَلْتُمُوهُ مِنْ جَهْدٍ أَيُّهَا الأَشُورِيُّونَ لاَ جَدْوَى مِنْهُ كَالْحَشِيْشِ وَالتِّبْنِ وَصَارَتْ أَنْفَاسُكُمْ نَاراً تَلْتَهِمُكُمْ.

Ye shall conceiue chaffe, and bring forth stubble: the fire of your breath shall deuoure you.

١٢ 12 وَتُصْبِحُ الشُّعُوبُ كَوَقُودِ الْكِلْسِ، كَأَشْوَاكٍ مُسْتَأْصَلَةٍ مُحْتَرِقَةٍ بِالنَّارِ.

And the people shall be as the burning of lime: and as the thornes cut vp, shall they be burnt in the fire.

١٣ 13 اسْمَعُوا أَيُّهَا الْبَعِيدُونَ مَا صَنَعْتُ، وَأَنْتُمْ أَيُّهَا الْقَرِيبُونَ اعْرِفُوا قُوَّتِي.

Heare, yee that are farre off, what I haue done, and ye that are neere, know my power.

١٤ 14 قَدِ ارْتَعَبَ الْخُطَاةُ فِي صِهْيَوْنَ، وَاسْتَوْلَتِ الرَّعْدَةُ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ، فَهَتَفُوا: مَنْ مِنَّا يَقْدِرُ أَنْ يَسْكُنَ مَعَ نَارٍ آكِلَةٍ؟ وَمَنْ مِنَّا يُمْكِنُهُ أَنْ يُقِيمَ فِي وَقَائِدَ أَبَدِيَّةٍ؟

The sinners in Zion are afraide: a feare is come vpon the hypocrites: who among vs shall dwel with the deuouring fire? who among vs shall dwell with the euerlasting burnings?

١٥ 15 السَّالِكُ فِي الْبِرِّ، وَالنَّاطِقُ بِالْحَقِّ، وَالنَّابِذُ رِبْحَ الظُّلْمِ، وَالنَّافِضُ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ قَبْضِ الرِّشْوَةِ، الصَّامُّ أُذُنَيْهِ عَنِ الاسْتِمَاعِ إِلَى مُؤَامَرَاتِ سَفْكِ الدِّمَاءِ، الْمُغْمِضُ عَيْنَيْهِ عَنِ التَّأَمُّلِ فِي الشَّرِّ،

Hee that walketh in iustice, and speaketh righteous things, refusing gaine of oppression, shaking his handes from taking of gifts, stopping his eares from hearing of blood, and shutting his eyes from seeing euill.

١٦ 16 هُوَ الَّذِي يَسْكُنُ فِي الْعَلاَءِ، وَمَلْجَأُهُ مَعَاقِلُ الصُّخُورِ، يُؤَمَّنُ لَهُ خُبْزُهُ. وَيُكْفَلُ لَهُ مَاؤُهُ.

He shall dwell on hie: his defence shall be the munitions of rockes: bread shalbe giuen him, and his waters shalbe sure.

١٧ 17 سَتَشْهَدُ عَيْنَاكَ الْمَلِكَ فِي بَهَائِهِ، وَتُبْصِرُ أَرْضاً تَمْتَدُّ بَعِيداً.

Thine eyes shall see the King in his glory: they shall beholde the lande farre off.

١٨ 18 يَتَذَكَّرُ قَلْبُكَ أَزْمِنَةَ الرُّعْبِ فَتَتَسَاءَلُ: أَيْنَ الْكَاتِبُ الْحَاسِبُ؟ أَيْنَ جَابِي الْجِزْيَةِ؟ أَيْنَ مَنْ يُحْصِي الأَبْرَاجَ؟

Thine heart shall meditate feare, Where is the scribe? where is the receiuer? where is hee that counted the towres?

١٩ 19 لَنْ تَرَى الشَّعْبَ الشَّرِسَ فِيمَا بَعْدُ، الَّذِي يَتَكَلَّمُ لُغَةً أَجْنَبِيَّةً لاَ تَفْهَمُهَا.

Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a darke speache, that thou canst not perceiue, and of a stammering tongue that thou canst not vnderstande.

٢٠ 20 التَفِتْ إِلَى صِهْيَوْنَ مَدِينَةِ أَعْيَادِنَا، فَتَكْتَحِلَ عَيْنَاكَ بِمَرْأَى أُورُشَلِيمَ، الْمَسْكَنِ الْمُطْمَئِنِّ وَالْخَيْمَةِ الثَّابِتَةِ الَّتِي لاَ تُقْلَعُ أَوْتَادُهَا إِلَى الأَبَدِ وَلاَ تَنْقَطِعُ حِبَالُهَا

Looke vpon Zion the citie of our solemne feastes: thine eyes shall see Ierusalem a quiet habitation, a Tabernacle that can not be remooued: and the stakes thereof can neuer be taken away, neither shall any of the cordes thereof be broken.

٢١ 21 هُنَاكَ يَكُونُ الرَّبُّ لَنَا بِجَلاَلِهِ مَكَانَ أَنْهَارٍ وَجَدَاوِلَ وَاسِعَةٍ لاَ يَبْحُرُ فِيهَا قَارِبٌ ذُو مِجْدَافٍ، وَلاَ تَمْخُرُ فِيهَا سَفِينَةٌ عَظِيمَةٌ،

For surely there the mightie Lord will be vnto vs, as a place of floods and broade riuers, whereby shall passe no shippe with oares, neither shall great shippe passe thereby.

٢٢ 22 لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ هُوَ قَاضِينَا، الرَّبُّ هُوَ مُشْتَرِعُنَا، هُوَ مَلِكُنَا وَسَيُخَلِّصُنَا

For the Lord is our Iudge, the Lord is our lawe giuer: the Lord is our King, he will saue vs.

٢٣ 23 لَقَدِ اسْتَرْخَتْ حِبَالُ أَشْرِعَتِكَ، فَلاَ يُمْكِنُهَا شَدُّ قَاعِدَةِ السَّارِيَةِ أَوْ نَشْرُ الشِّرَاعِ، حِينَئِذٍ نَقْسِمُ الْغَنَائِمَ الْوَفِيرَةَ. حَتَّى الْعُرْجُ يَنْهَبُونَ السَّلَبَ.

Thy cordes are loosed: they could not well strengthen their maste, neither coulde they spread the saile: then shall the praye be deuided for a great spoile: yea, the lame shall take away the pray.

٢٤ 24 لَنْ يَقُولَ مُقِيمٌ فِي صِهْيَوْنَ إِنَّهُ مَرِيضٌ، وَيَنْزِعُ الرَّبُّ إِثْمَ الشَّعْبِ السَّاكِنِ فِيهَا.

And none inhabitant shall say, I am sicke: the people that dwell therein, shall haue their iniquitie forgiuen.
