تكوين 1
| فِي الْبَدْءِ خَلَقَ اللهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ، | ١ 1 |
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
| وَإِذْ كَانَتِ الأَرْضُ مُشَوَّشَةً وَمُقْفِرَةً وَتَكْتَنِفُ الظُّلْمَةُ وَجْهَ الْمِيَاهِ، وَإِذْ كَانَ رُوحُ اللهِ يُرَفْرِفُ عَلَى سَطْحِ الْمِيَاهِ، | ٢ 2 |
Now the earth was formless and empty, and darkness was on the surface of the watery depths. And God's Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.
| أَمَرَ اللهُ: «لِيَكُنْ نُورٌ». فَصَارَ نُورٌ، | ٣ 3 |
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
| وَرَأَى اللهُ النُّورَ فَاسْتَحْسَنَهُ وَفَصَلَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الظَّلامِ. | ٤ 4 |
And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.
| وَسَمَّى اللهُ النُّورَ نَهَاراً، أَمَّا الظَّلامُ فَسَمَّاهُ لَيْلاً. وَهَكَذَا جَاءَ مَسَاءٌ أَعْقَبَهُ صَبَاحٌ، فَكَانَ الْيَوْمَ الأَوَّلَ. | ٥ 5 |
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. There was evening and there was morning, one day.
| ثُمَّ أَمَرَ اللهُ: «لِيَكُنْ جَلَدٌ يَحْجُزُ بَيْنَ مِيَاهٍ وَمِيَاهٍ». | ٦ 6 |
And God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters." And it was so.
| فَخَلَقَ اللهُ الْجَلَدَ، وَفَرَّقَ بَيْنَ الْمِيَاهِ الَّتِي تَحْمِلُهَا السُّحُبُ وَالْمِيَاهِ الَّتِي تَغْمُرُ الأَرْضَ. وَهَكَذَا كَانَ. | ٧ 7 |
And God made the expanse, and separated the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse.
| وَسَمَّى اللهُ الْجَلَدَ سَمَاءً. ثُمَّ جَاءَ مَسَاءٌ أَعْقَبَهُ صَبَاحٌ فَكَانَ الْيَوْمَ الثَّانِي. | ٨ 8 |
And God called the expanse Sky. And God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a second day.
| ثُمَّ أَمَرَ اللهُ: «لِتَتَجَمَّعِ الْمِيَاهُ الَّتِي تَحْتَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى مَوْضِعٍ وَاحِدٍ، وَلْتَظْهَرِ الْيَابِسَةُ». وَهَكَذَا كَانَ. | ٩ 9 |
And God said, "Let the waters under the sky be gathered to one gathering, and let the dry land appear." And it was so. And the waters under the sky gathered to their gatherings, and the dry land appeared.
| وَسَمَّى اللهُ الْيَابِسَةَ أَرْضاً وَالْمِيَاهَ الْمُجْتَمِعَةَ بِحَاراً. وَرَأَى اللهُ ذَلِكَ فَاسْتَحْسَنَهُ. | ١٠ 10 |
And God called the dry land Earth, and the gatherings of the waters he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
| وَأَمَرَ اللهُ: «لِتُنْبِتِ الأَرْضُ خُضْرَةً، وَشَجَراً مُثْمِراً فِيهِ بِزْرُهُ الَّذِي يُنْتِجُ ثَمَراً كَجِنْسِهِ فِي الأَرْضِ». وَهَكَذَا كَانَ. | ١١ 11 |
And God said, "Let the earth produce vegetation, plants yielding seed after its kind, and fruit trees bearing fruit with seed in it after its kind, on the earth." And it was so.
| فَأَنْبَتَتِ الأَرْضُ كُلَّ أَنْوَاعِ الأَعْشَابِ وَالْبُقُولِ الَّتِي تَحْمِلُ بُزُوراً مِنْ جِنْسِهَا، وَالأَشْجَارَ الَّتِي تَحْمِلُ أَثْمَاراً ذَاتَ بُذُورٍ حَسَبَ نَوْعِهَا. وَرَأَى اللهُ ذَلِكَ فَاسْتَحْسَنَهُ. | ١٢ 12 |
And the earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after its kind, and fruit trees bearing fruit with seed in it after its kind, on the earth. And God saw that it was good.
| وَجَاءَ مَسَاءٌ أَعْقَبَهُ صَبَاحٌ فَكَانَ الْيَوْمَ الثَّالِثَ. | ١٣ 13 |
There was evening and there was morning, a third day.
| ثُمَّ أَمَرَ اللهُ: «لِتَكُنْ أَنْوَارٌ فِي قُبَّةِ السَّمَاءِ لِتُفَرِّقَ بَيْنَ النَّهَارِ وَاللَّيْلِ، فَتَكُونَ عَلاَمَاتٍ لِتَحْدِيدِ أَزْمِنَةٍ وَأَيَّامٍ وَسِنِينَ. | ١٤ 14 |
And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky for the illumination of the day, to give light on the earth, and to rule the day and the night, and to separate between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and for years;
| وَتَكُونَ أَيْضاً أَنْوَاراً فِي قُبَّةِ السَّمَاءِ لِتُضِيءَ الأَرْضَ». وَهَكَذَا كَانَ. | ١٥ 15 |
and let them be for lights in the expanse of the sky to shine on the earth." And it was so.
| وَخَلَقَ اللهُ نُورَ يْنِ عَظِيمَيْنِ، النُّورَ الأَكْبَرَ لِيُشْرِقَ فِي النَّهَارِ، وَالنُّورَ الأَصْغَرَ لِيُضِيءَ فِي اللَّيْلِ، كَمَا خَلَقَ النُّجُومَ أَيْضاً. | ١٦ 16 |
And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars.
| وَجَعَلَهَا اللهُ فِي قُبَّةِ السَّمَاءِ لِتُضِيءَ الأَرْضَ، | ١٧ 17 |
And God set them in the expanse of the sky to shine on the earth,
| لِتَتَحَكَّمَ بِالنَّهَارِ وَبِاللَّيْلِ وَلِتُفَرِّقَ بَيْنَ النُّورِ وَالظَّلامِ. وَرَأَى اللهُ ذَلِكَ فَاسْتَحْسَنَهُ. | ١٨ 18 |
and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
| وَجَاءَ مَسَاءٌ أَعْقَبَهُ صَبَاحٌ فَكَانَ الْيَوْمَ الرَّابِعَ. | ١٩ 19 |
There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
| ثُمَّ أَمَرَ اللهُ: «لِتَمْتَلِئِ الْمِيَاهُ بِشَتَّى الْحَيَوَانَاتِ الْحَيَّةِ وَلْتُحَلِّقِ الطُّيُورُ فَوْقَ الأَرْضِ عَبْرَ فَضَاءِ السَّمَاءِ». | ٢٠ 20 |
And God said, "Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let flying creatures fly above the earth in the open expanse of the sky." And it was so.
| وَهَكَذَا خَلَقَ اللهُ الْحَيَوَانَاتِ الْمَائِيَّةَ الضَّخْمَةَ، وَالْكَائِنَاتِ الْحَيَّةَ الَّتِي امْتَلأَتْ بِهَا الْمِيَاهُ، كُلًّا حَسَبَ أَجْنَاسِهَا، وَأَيْضاً الطُّيُورَ وَفْقاً لأَنْوَاعِهَا. وَرَأَى اللهُ ذَلِكَ فَاسْتَحْسَنَهُ. | ٢١ 21 |
And God created the large sea creatures, and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, after its kind, and every winged flying creature after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
| وَبَارَكَهَا اللهُ قَائِلاً: «انْتِجِي، وَتَكَاثَرِي وَامْلإِي مِيَاهَ الْبِحَارِ. وَلْتَتَكَاثَرِ الطُّيُورُ فَوْقَ الأَرْضِ». | ٢٢ 22 |
And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the flying creatures multiply on the earth."
| ثُمَّ جَاءَ مَسَاءٌ أَعْقَبَهُ صَبَاحٌ فَكَانَ الْيَوْمَ الْخَامِسَ. | ٢٣ 23 |
There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.
| ثُمَّ أَمَرَ اللهُ: «لِتُخْرِجِ الأَرْضُ كَائِنَاتٍ حَيَّةً، كُلاً حَسَبَ جِنْسِهَا، مِنْ بَهَائِمَ وَزَوَاحِفَ وَوُحُوشٍ وَفْقاً لأَنْوَاعِهَا». وَهَكَذَا كَانَ. | ٢٤ 24 |
And God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures after its kind: tame animals, and crawling creatures, and wild animals of the earth after its kind." And it was so.
| فَخَلَقَ اللهُ وُحُوشَ الأَرْضِ، وَالْبَهَائِمَ وَالزَّوَاحِفَ، كُلاً حَسَبَ نَوْعِهَا. وَرَأَى اللهُ ذَلِكَ فَاسْتَحْسَنَهُ. | ٢٥ 25 |
And God made the wild animals of the earth after its kind, and the tame animals after its kind, and everything that crawls on the ground after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
| ثُمَّ قَالَ اللهُ: «لِنَصْنَعِ الإِنْسَانَ عَلَى صُورَتِنَا، كَمِثَالِنَا، فَيَتَسَلَّطَ عَلَى سَمَكِ الْبَحْرِ، وَعَلَى طَيْرِ السَّمَاءِ، وَعَلَى الأَرْضِ، وَعَلَى كُلِّ زَاحِفٍ يَزْحَفُ عَلَيْهَا». | ٢٦ 26 |
And God said, "Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the flying creatures of the sky, and over the tame animals, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creature that crawls on the earth." And it was so.
| فَخَلَقَ اللهُ الإِنْسَانَ عَلَى صُورَتِهِ. عَلَى صُورَةِ اللهِ خَلَقَهُ. ذَكَراً وَأُنْثَى خَلَقَهُمْ. | ٢٧ 27 |
And God created humankind in his own image. In God's image he created him; male and female he created them.
| وَبَارَكَهُمُ اللهُ قَائِلاً لَهُمْ: «أَثْمِرُوا وَتَكَاثَرُوا وَامْلَأُوا الأَرْضَ وَأَخْضِعُوهَا. وَتَسَلَّطُوا عَلَى سَمَكِ الْبَحْرِ، وَعَلَى طَيْرِ السَّمَاءِ وَعَلَى كُلِّ حَيَوَانٍ يَتَحَرَّكُ عَلَى الأَرْضِ». | ٢٨ 28 |
And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the flying creatures of the sky, and over all the tame animals, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over all the creatures that crawl on the earth."
| ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ: «إِنِّي قَدْ أَعْطَيْتُكُمْ كُلَّ أَصْنَافِ النَّبَاتَاتِ ذَاتِ الْبُذُورِ الْمُنْتَشِرَةِ عَلَى كُلِّ سَطْحِ الأَرْضِ، وَكُلَّ شَجَرٍ يَحْمِلُ ثَمَراً فِيهِ بُذُورٌ، لِتَكُونَ لَكُمْ طَعَاماً. | ٢٩ 29 |
And God said, "Look, I have given you every plant yielding seed, which is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food.
| أَمَّا الْعُشْبُ الأَخْضَرُ فَقَدْ جَعَلْتُهُ طَعَاماً لِوُحُوشِ الأَرْضِ وَلِطُيُورِ السَّمَاءِ وَالْحَيَوَانَاتِ الزَّاحِفَةِ، وَلجَمِيعِ الْكَائِنَاتِ الْحَيَّةِ». وَهَكَذَا كَانَ. | ٣٠ 30 |
And to every wild animal of the earth, and to every tame animal of the earth, and to every flying creature of the sky, and to every creature that crawls on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green plant for food."
| وَرَأَى اللهُ مَا خَلَقَهُ فَاسْتَحْسَنَهُ جِدّاً. ثُمَّ جَاءَ مَسَاءٌ أَعْقَبَهُ صَبَاحٌ فَكَانَ الْيَوْمَ السَّادِسَ. | ٣١ 31 |
And God saw everything that he had made, and look, it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.
