أسْتِير 2

١ 1 وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ خَمَدَتْ حِدَّةُ غَضَبِ الْمَلِكِ أَحَشْوِيرُوشَ، فَذَكَرَ وَشْتِي وَمَا فَعَلَتْهُ، وَالْقَرَارَ الَّذِي صَدَرَ ضِدَّهَا.

after [the] word: thing [the] these like/as to subside rage [the] king Ahasuerus to remember [obj] Vashti and [obj] which to make: do and [obj] which to cut upon her

٢ 2 فَقَالَ لَهُ رِجَالُهُ الْقَائِمُونَ عَلَى خِدْمَتِهِ: «لِيُجْرَ بَحْثٌ عَنْ فَتَيَاتٍ عَذَارَى بَارِعَاتِ الْجَمَالِ مِنْ أَجْلِ الْمَلِكِ،

and to say youth [the] king to minister him to seek to/for king maiden virgin pleasant appearance

٣ 3 وَلْيَعْهَدِ الْمَلِكُ إِلَى وُكَلاَئِهِ فِي كُلِّ أَرْجَاءِ مَمْلَكَتِهِ حَتَّى يَجْمَعُوا كُلَّ الْفَتَيَاتِ الْعَذَارَى الْفَاتِنَاتِ إِلَى جَنَاحِ الْحَرِيمِ فِي شُوشَنَ الْقَصْرِ، لِيَكُنَّ تَحْتَ إِشْرَافِ هَيْجَايَ خَصِيِّ الْمَلِكِ وَحَارِسِ النِّسَاءِ، حَيْثُ تُقَدَّمُ إِلَيْهُنَّ الدُّهُونُ الْمُعَطَّرَةُ.

٤ 4 وَالْفَتَاةُ الَّتِي تَرُوقُ لِلْمَلِكِ تُصْبِحُ مَلِكَةً مَحَلَّ وَشْتِي». فَاسْتَحْسَنَ الْمَلِكُ هَذَا الْكَلاَمَ وَعَمِلَ بِهِ.

and [the] maiden which be good in/on/with eye: appearance [the] king to reign underneath: instead Vashti and be good [the] word: thing in/on/with eye: appearance [the] king and to make: do so

٥ 5 وَكَانَ يُقِيمُ فِي شُوشَنَ الْقَصْرِ رَجُلٌ يَهُودِيٌّ يُدْعَى مُرْدَخَايَ بْنَ يَائِيرَ بْنِ شَمْعِي بْنِ قَيْسٍ، مِنْ سِبْطِ بَنْيَامِينَ،

٦ 6 قَدْ سُبِيَ مِنْ أُورُشَلِيمَ مَعَ جُمْلَةِ الْمَسْبِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ أَسَرَهُمْ نَبُوخَذْنَصَّرُ مَلِكُ بَابِلَ، مَعَ يَكُنْيَا مَلِكِ يَهُوذَا.

which to reveal: remove from Jerusalem with [the] captivity which to reveal: remove with Jeconiah king Judah which to reveal: remove Nebuchadnezzar king Babylon

٧ 7 هَذَا أَشْرَفَ عَلَى تَرْبِيَةِ ابْنَةِ عَمِّهِ أَسْتِيرَ الْمَدْعُوَّةَ هَدَسَّةَ، لأَنَّهَا كَانَتْ يَتِيمَةَ الأَبَوَيْنِ. وَكَانَتِ الْفَتَاةُ رَائِعَةَ الْجَمَالِ، جَمِيلَةَ الطَّلْعَةِ تَبَنَّاهَا مُرْدَخَايُ عِنْدَ وَفَاةِ وَالِدَيْهَا.

٨ 8 فَلَمَّا بَلَغَهُ أَمْرُ الْمَلِكِ وَحُكْمُهُ، وَشَرَعُوا فِي جَمْعِ فَتَيَاتٍ كَثِيرَاتٍ إِلَى شُوشَنَ الْقَصْرِ حَيْثُ عُهِدَ بِهِنَّ إِلَى هَيْجَايَ، أُخِذَتْ أَسْتِيرُ إِلَى قَصْرِ الْمَلِكِ إِلَى هَيْجَايَ حَارِسِ الْحَرِيمِ،

and to be in/on/with to hear: proclaim word [the] king and law his and in/on/with to gather maiden many to(wards) Susa [the] palace to(wards) hand: power Hegai and to take: take Esther to(wards) house: home [the] king to(wards) hand: power Hegai to keep: guard [the] woman

٩ 9 فَحَظِيَتِ الْفَتَاةُ بِإِعْجَابِ هَيْجَايَ وَنَالَتْ رِضَاهُ، فَأَسْرَعَ يُقَدِّمُ إِلَيْهَا نَصِيبَهَا مِنَ الْعُطُورِ وَالأَطْعِمَةِ، وَخَصَّصَ لِخِدْمَتِهَا سَبْعَ فَتَيَاتٍ مِنْ قَصْرِ الْمَلِكِ، وَنَقَلَهَا مَعَ وَصِيفَاتِهَا إِلَى أَفْضَلِ مَكَانٍ فِي جَنَاحِ النِّسَاءِ.

١٠ 10 وَكَتَمَتْ أَسْتِيرُ أَصْلَهَا وَجِنْسَهَا لأَنَّ مُرْدَخَايَ أَوْصَاهَا بِذَلِكَ.

not to tell Esther [obj] people her and [obj] relatives her for Mordecai to command upon her which not to tell

١١ 11 وَرَاحَ مُرْدَخَايُ يَتَمَشَّى كُلَّ يَوْمٍ أَمَامَ فِنَاءِ جَنَاحِ النِّسَاءِ، لِيَتَحَرَّى عَنْ سَلاَمَةِ أَسْتِيرَ وَمَا يَحْدُثُ لَهَا.

١٢ 12 وَكَانَ يَحِقُّ لِكُلِّ فَتَاةٍ جَاءَ دَوْرُهَا لِلْمُثُولِ أَمَامَ الْمَلِكِ أَحَشْوِيرُوشَ، بَعْدَ أَنْ يَكُونَ قَدِ انْقَضَى عَلَيْهَا اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْراً، حَسَبَ سُنَّةِ النِّسَاءِ، أَنْفَقَتْ سِتَّةَ أَشْهُرٍ مِنْهَا فِي التَّعَطُّرِ بِزَيْتِ الْمُرِّ، وَسِتَّةَ أَشْهُرٍ بِالأَطْيَابِ وَالْعُطُورِ، وَهَكَذَا تَكْمُلُ أَيَّامُ تَعَطُّرِهِنَّ،

and in/on/with to touch plait maiden and maiden to/for to come (in): come to(wards) [the] king Ahasuerus from end to be to/for her like/as law [the] woman two ten month for so to fill day rubbing their six month in/on/with oil [the] myrrh and six month in/on/with spice and in/on/with cosmetic [the] woman

١٣ 13 أَنْ يُعْطَى لَهَا عِنْدَمَا تَدْخُلُ لِلْمُثُولِ فِي حَضْرَةِ الْمَلِكِ كُلُّ مَا تَطْلُبُهُ مِنْ جَنَاحِ النِّسَاءِ لِتَنْقُلَهُ مَعَهَا إِلَى قَصْرِ الْمَلِكِ.

and in/on/with this [the] maiden to come (in): come to(wards) [the] king [obj] all which to say to give: give to/for her to/for to come (in): come with her from house: home [the] woman: wife till house: home [the] king

١٤ 14 وَكَانَتِ الْفَتَاةُ تَدْخُلُ إِلَى الْمَلِكِ فِي الْمَسَاءِ، ثُمَّ تَرْجِعُ فِي الصَّبَاحِ إِلَى جَنَاحِ النِّسَاءِ الثَّانِي الَّذِي عُهِدَ بِهِ إِلَى شَعْشَغَازَ الْخَصِيِّ حَارِسِ الْمَحْظِيَّاتِ، وَتَمْكُثُ هُنَاكَ لاَ تَدْخُلُ إِلَى الْمَلِكِ ثَانِيَةً إِلاَّ إِذَا حَظِيَتْ بِمَسَرَّتِهِ، وَدُعِيَتْ بِاسْمِهَا.

١٥ 15 وَلَمَّا جَاءَ دَوْرُ أَسْتِيرَ ابْنَةِ أَبِيحَائِلَ عَمِّ مُرْدَخَايَ الَّذِي تَبَنَّاهَا لِلْمُثُولِ فِي حَضْرَةِ الْمَلِكِ، لَمْ تَطْلُبْ شَيْئاً إِلاَّ مَا أَشَارَ بِهِ عَلَيْهَا هَيْجَايُ خَصِيُّ الْمَلِكِ وَحَارِسُ الْحَرِيمِ. وَكَانَتْ أَسْتِيرُ تَحْظَى بِإِعْجَابِ كُلِّ مَنْ رَآهَا.

١٦ 16 وَأُخِذَتْ أَسْتِيرُ إِلَى الْمَلِكِ أَحَشْوِيرُوشَ فِي قَصْرِهِ فِي شَهْرِ طِيبِيتَ (أَيْ كَانُونَ الثَّانِي - يَنَايِرَ)، فِي السَّنَةِ السَّابِعَةِ لِحُكْمِهِ،

and to take: take Esther to(wards) [the] king Ahasuerus to(wards) house: home royalty his in/on/with month [the] tenth he/she/it month Tebeth in/on/with year seven to/for royalty his

١٧ 17 فَأَحَبَّ الْمَلِكُ أَسْتِيرَ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ سَائِرِ النِّسَاءِ، وَحَظِيَتْ بِرِضَاهُ وَبِإِعْجَابِهِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ بَقِيَّةِ الْعَذَارَى، حَتَّى إِنَّهُ وَضَعَ تَاجَ الْمُلْكِ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا، وَمَلَّكَهَا بَدَلاً مِنْ وَشْتِي.

and to love: lover [the] king [obj] Esther from all [the] woman and to lift: kindness favor and kindness to/for face: kindness his from all [the] virgin and to set: make crown royalty in/on/with head her and to reign her underneath: instead Vashti

١٨ 18 وَأَقَامَ الْمَلِكُ مَأْدُبَةً عَظِيمَةً دَعَا إِلَيْهَا جَمِيعَ قَادَتِهِ وَرِجَالِهِ، احْتِفَاءً بِأَسْتِيرَ، وَأَعْفَى الْبِلاَدَ مِنَ الْجِزْيَةِ، وَوَزَّعَ الْهَدَايَا بِسَخَاءٍ مَلَكِيٍّ.

and to make: offer [the] king feast great: large to/for all ruler his and servant/slave his [obj] feast Esther and holiday to/for province to make: offer and to give: give tribute like/as hand: to [the] king

١٩ 19 وَعِنْدَمَا جُمِعَتِ الْعَذَارَى لِلْمَرَّةِ الثَّانِيَةِ. كَانَ مُرْدَخَايُ فِي ذَلِكَ الْوَقْتِ قَدْ صَارَ حَاجِبَ الْمَلِكِ.

and in/on/with to gather virgin second and Mordecai to dwell in/on/with gate [the] king

٢٠ 20 وَلَمْ تَكُنْ أَسْتِيرُ قَدْ كَشَفَتْ عَنْ جِنْسِهَا وَشَعْبِهَا كَمَا أَوْصَاهَا مُرْدَخَايُ، وَظَلَّتْ تَعْمَلُ بِوَصَايَا مُرْدَخَايَ وَكَأَنَّهَا مَا بَرِحَتْ فِي بَيْتِهِ تَحْتَ إِشْرَافِهِ.

nothing Esther to tell relatives her and [obj] people her like/as as which to command upon her Mordecai and [obj] command Mordecai Esther to make: do like/as as which to be in/on/with brought up with him

٢١ 21 وَذَاتَ يَوْمٍ تَآمَرَ بِغْثَانُ وَتَرَشُ خَصِيَّا الْمَلِكِ وَحَاجِبَاهُ لاِغْتِيَالِهِ لأَنَّهُمَا غَضِبَا مِنْهُ. وَكَانَ مُرْدَخَايُ آنَئِذٍ جَالِساً عِنْدَ بَابِ الْمَلِكِ،

in/on/with day [the] they(masc.) and Mordecai to dwell in/on/with gate [the] king be angry Bigthan and Teresh two eunuch [the] king from to keep: guard [the] threshold and to seek to/for to send: reach hand in/on/with king Ahasuerus

٢٢ 22 فَعَرَفَ مُرْدَخَايُ الأَمْرَ وَأَبْلَغَ بِهِ أَسْتِيرَ الْمَلِكَةَ الَّتِي أَخْبَرَتِ الْمَلِكَ بِدَوْرِهَا، بَعْدَ أَنْ عَزَتِ الْخَبَرَ إِلَى مُرْدَخَايَ.

and to know [the] word: thing to/for Mordecai and to tell to/for Esther [the] queen and to say Esther to/for king in/on/with name Mordecai

٢٣ 23 وَبَعْدَ تَقَصِّي الأَمْرِ وَالتَّحَقُّقِ مِنْ صِحَّتِهِ صُلِبَ الْخَصِيَّانِ عَلَى خَشَبَةٍ، وَتَمَّ تَسْجِيلُ وَقَائِعِ الْحَادِثِ فِي سِجِلَّاتِ الْمَمْلَكَةِ فِي حُضُورِ الْمَلِكِ.

and to seek [the] word: deed and to find and to hang two their upon tree: stake and to write in/on/with scroll: book word: deed [the] day to/for face: before [the] king
