1 صَمُوئيل 5

١ 1 وَأَخَدَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيُّونَ تَابُوتَ اللهِ وَنَقَلُوهُ مِنْ حَجَرِ الْمَعُونَةِ إِلَى أَشْدُودَ،

and Philistine to take: take [obj] ark [the] God and to come (in): bring him from Ebenezer [the] Ebenezer Ashdod [to]

٢ 2 ثُمَّ أَدْخَلُوهُ إِلَى مَعْبَدِ دَاجُونَ إِلَهِهِمْ، وَوَضَعُوهُ إِلَى جِوَارِهِ.

and to take: take Philistine [obj] ark [the] God and to come (in): bring [obj] him house: temple Dagon and to set [obj] him beside Dagon

٣ 3 وَفِي صَبَاحِ الْيَوْمِ التَّالِي وَجَدَ أَهْلُ أَشْدُودَ صَنَمَ إِلَهِهِمْ دَاجُونَ مَطْرُوحاً عَلَى وَجْهِهِ إِلَى الأَرْضِ أَمَامَ تَابُوتِ الرَّبِّ، فَرَفَعُوهُ وَأَقَامُوهُ فِي مَوْضِعِهِ.

and to rise Ashdod from morrow and behold Dagon to fall: fall to/for face his land: soil [to] to/for face: before ark LORD and to take: take [obj] Dagon and to return: return [obj] him to/for place his

٤ 4 وَفِي صَبَاحِ الْيَوْمِ التَّالِي عَثَرُوا عَلَى صَنَمِ دَاجُونَ مَطْرُوحاً عَلَى وَجْهِهِ إِلَى الأَرْضِ أَمَامَ تَابُوتِ الرَّبِّ، وَرَأْسُهُ وَيَدَاهُ مَقْطُوعَةٌ وَمُلْقَاةٌ عَلَى الْعَتَبَةِ، وَلَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْهُ سِوَى جِسْمِ السَّمَكَةِ.

and to rise in/on/with morning from morrow and behold Dagon to fall: fall to/for face his land: soil [to] to/for face: before ark LORD and head Dagon and two palm hand his to cut: eliminate to(wards) [the] threshold except Dagon to remain upon him

٥ 5 لِذَلِكَ لاَ يَطَأُ كَهَنَةُ دَاجُونَ وَسَائِرُ الدَّاخِلِينَ إِلَى مَعْبَدِ دَاجُونَ عَلَى عَتَبَةِ الْمَعْبَدِ فِي أَشْدُودَ إِلَى هَذَا الْيَوْمِ.

٦ 6 ثُمَّ ثَقُلَتْ وَطْأَةُ الرَّبِّ عَلَى الأَشْدُودِيِّينَ وَالْقُرَى الْمُحِيطَةِ بِهِمْ، فَأَصَابَهُمُ الْخَرَابُ، وَبَلاَهُمْ بِالْبَوَاسِيرِ.

٧ 7 وَعِنْدَمَا تَبَيَّنَ أَهْلُ أَشْدُودَ مَا يَجْرِي قَالُوا: «لاَ يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يَمْكُثَ تَابُوتُ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ عِنْدَنَا، لأَنَّ وَطْأَةَ يَدِهِ قَدْ قَسَتْ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى دَاجُونَ إِلَهِنَا».

٨ 8 فَاسْتَدْعَوْا أَقْطَابَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ جَمِيعَهُمْ قَائِلِينَ: «مَاذَا نَصْنَعُ بِتَابُوتِ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ؟» فَأَجَابُوهُمْ: «انْقُلُوهُ إِلَى جَتَّ». وَعِنْدَمَا نَقَلُوا تَابُوتَ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ إِلَى جَتَّ،

and to send: depart and to gather [obj] all lord Philistine to(wards) them and to say what? to make: do to/for ark God Israel and to say Gath to turn: turn ark God Israel and to turn: turn [obj] ark God Israel

٩ 9 عَاقَبَتْ يَدُ الرَّبِّ الْمَدِينَةَ، فَأَصَابَ أَهْلَهَا اضْطِرَابٌ عَظِيمٌ جِدّاً، وَتَفَشَّى فِي صَغِيرِهِمْ وَكَبِيرِهِمْ دَاءُ الْبَوَاسِيرِ.

١٠ 10 فَأَرْسَلُوا تَابُوتَ اللهِ إِلَى عَقْرُونَ. وَمَا إِنْ دَخَلَ الْمَدِينَةَ حَتَّى صَرَخَ أَهْلُ عَقْرُونَ قَائِلِينَ: «قَدْ نَقَلُوا إِلَيْنَا تَابُوتَ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ لِكَيْ يَقْضُوا عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى شَعْبِنَا».

١١ 11 فَبَعَثُوا وَاسْتَدْعَوْا أَقْطَابَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ وَقَالُوا: «أَعِيدُوا تَابُوتَ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ فَيَرْجِعَ إِلَى مَوْضِعِهِ وَلاَ يُفْنِيَنَا نَحْنُ وَشَعْبَنَا»؛ لأَنَّ الْمَوْتَ قَدْ مَلأَ الْمَدِينَةَ بِالرُّعْبِ، إذْ صَارَتْ وَطْأَةُ يَدِ الرَّبِّ عَلَيْهِمْ ثَقِيلَةً جِدّاً،

and to send: depart and to gather [obj] all lord Philistine and to say to send: depart [obj] ark God Israel and to return: return to/for place his and not to die [obj] me and [obj] people my for to be tumult death in/on/with all [the] city to honor: heavy much hand: power [the] God there

١٢ 12 وَمَنْ لَمْ يَمُتْ مِنَ النَّاسِ تَفَشَّتْ فِيهِمُ الْبَوَاسِيرُ، فَارْتَفَعَ صُرَاخُ الْمَدِينَةِ إِلَى عَنَانِ السَّمَاءِ.
