غَلاطِيَّة 5

١ 1 فَٱثْبُتُوا إِذًا فِي ٱلْحُرِّيَّةِ ٱلَّتِي قَدْ حَرَّرَنَا ٱلْمَسِيحُ بِهَا، وَلَا تَرْتَبِكُوا أَيْضًا بِنِيرِ عُبُودِيَّةٍ.

Stand fast, therefore, in the liberty with which the Messiah hath made us free; and be not subjected again to the yoke of bondage.

٢ 2 هَا أَنَا بُولُسُ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: إِنَّهُ إِنِ ٱخْتَتَنْتُمْ لَا يَنْفَعُكُمُ ٱلْمَسِيحُ شَيْئًا!

Behold, I Paul say to you, That if ye become circumcised, the Messiah is of no advantage to you.

٣ 3 لَكِنْ أَشْهَدُ أَيْضًا لِكُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ مُخْتَتِنٍ أَنَّهُ مُلْتَزِمٌ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ بِكُلِّ ٱلنَّامُوسِ.

And again, I testify to every one who becometh circumcised, that he is bound to fulfill the whole law.

٤ 4 قَدْ تَبَطَّلْتُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمَسِيحِ أَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَبَرَّرُونَ بِٱلنَّامُوسِ. سَقَطْتُمْ مِنَ ٱلنِّعْمَةِ.

Ye have renounced the Messiah, ye who seek justification by the law: and ye have apostatized from grace.

٥ 5 فَإِنَّنَا بِٱلرُّوحِ مِنَ ٱلْإِيمَانِ نَتَوَقَّعُ رَجَاءَ بِرٍّ.

For we, through the Spirit, which is from faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness.

٦ 6 لِأَنَّهُ فِي ٱلْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ لَا ٱلْخِتَانُ يَنْفَعُ شَيْئًا وَلَا ٱلْغُرْلَةُ، بَلِ ٱلْإِيمَانُ ٱلْعَامِلُ بِٱلْمَحَبَّةِ.

For, in the Messiah Jesus, circumcision is nothing, neither is uncircumcision, but the faith that is perfected by love.

٧ 7 كُنْتُمْ تَسْعَوْنَ حَسَنًا. فَمَنْ صَدَّكُمْ حَتَّى لَا تُطَاوِعُوا لِلْحَقِّ؟

Ye did run well: who hath interrupted you, that ye acquiesce not in the truth?

٨ 8 هَذِهِ ٱلْمُطَاوَعَةُ لَيْسَتْ مِنَ ٱلَّذِي دَعَاكُمْ.

The bias of your mind is not from him who called you.

٩ 9 «خَمِيرَةٌ صَغِيرَةٌ تُخَمِّرُ ٱلْعَجِينَ كُلَّهُ».

A little leaven leaveneth the whole mass.

١٠ 10 وَلَكِنَّنِي أَثِقُ بِكُمْ فِي ٱلرَّبِّ أَنَّكُمْ لَا تَفْتَكِرُونَ شَيْئًا آخَرَ. وَلَكِنَّ ٱلَّذِي يُزْعِجُكُمْ سَيَحْمِلُ ٱلدَّيْنُونَةَ أَيَّ مَنْ كَانَ.

I confide in you through our Lord, that ye will entertain no other thoughts. And he that disquieteth you, shall bear his judgment, whoever he may be.

١١ 11 وَأَمَّا أَنَا أَيُّهَا ٱلْإِخْوَةُ فَإِنْ كُنْتُ بَعْدُ أَكْرِزُ بِٱلْخِتَانِ، فَلِمَاذَا أُضْطَهَدُ بَعْدُ؟ إِذًا عَثْرَةُ ٱلصَّلِيبِ قَدْ بَطَلَتْ.

And I, my brethren, if I still preached circumcision, why should I suffer persecution? Hath the offensiveness of the cross ceased?

١٢ 12 يَالَيْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقْلِقُونَكُمْ يَقْطَعُونَ أَيْضًا!

But I would, that they who disquiet you, were actually cut off.

١٣ 13 فَإِنَّكُمْ إِنَّمَا دُعِيتُمْ لِلْحُرِّيَّةِ أَيُّهَا ٱلْإِخْوَةُ. غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لَا تُصَيِّرُوا ٱلْحُرِّيَّةَ فُرْصَةً لِلْجَسَدِ، بَلْ بِٱلْمَحَبَّةِ ٱخْدِمُوا بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا.

And ye, my brethren, have been called into liberty: only let not your liberty be an occasion to the flesh; but, by love, be ye servants to each other.

١٤ 14 لِأَنَّ كُلَّ ٱلنَّامُوسِ فِي كَلِمَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ يُكْمَلُ: «تُحِبُّ قَرِيبَكَ كَنَفْسِكَ».

For the whole law is fulfilled in one sentence; in this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

١٥ 15 فَإِذَا كُنْتُمْ تَنْهَشُونَ وَتَأْكُلُونَ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا، فَٱنْظُرُوا لِئَلَّا تُفْنُوا بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا.

But if ye bite and devour one another, beware, lest ye be consumed one by another.

١٦ 16 وَإِنَّمَا أَقُولُ: ٱسْلُكُوا بِٱلرُّوحِ فَلَا تُكَمِّلُوا شَهْوَةَ ٱلْجَسَدِ.

And I say: Walk ye in the Spirit; and never follow the cravings of the flesh.

١٧ 17 لِأَنَّ ٱلْجَسَدَ يَشْتَهِي ضِدَّ ٱلرُّوحِ وَٱلرُّوحُ ضِدَّ ٱلْجَسَدِ، وَهَذَانِ يُقَاوِمُ أَحَدُهُمَا ٱلْآخَرَ، حَتَّى تَفْعَلُونَ مَا لَا تُرِيدُونَ.

For the flesh craveth that which is repugnant to the Spirit; and the Spirit craveth that which is repugnant to the flesh: and the two are the opposites of each other, so that ye do not that which ye desire.

١٨ 18 وَلَكِنْ إِذَا ٱنْقَدْتُمْ بِٱلرُّوحِ فَلَسْتُمْ تَحْتَ ٱلنَّامُوسِ.

But if ye are guided by the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

١٩ 19 وَأَعْمَالُ ٱلْجَسَدِ ظَاهِرَةٌ، ٱلَّتِي هِيَ: زِنًى، عَهَارَةٌ، نَجَاسَةٌ، دَعَارَةٌ،

For the works of the flesh are known, which are whoredom, impurity, lasciviousness,

٢٠ 20 عِبَادَةُ ٱلْأَوْثَانِ، سِحْرٌ، عَدَاوَةٌ، خِصَامٌ، غَيْرَةٌ، سَخَطٌ، تَحَزُّبٌ، شِقَاقٌ، بِدْعَةٌ،

idol-worship, magic, malice, contention, rivalry, wrath, strife, divisions, discords,

٢١ 21 حَسَدٌ، قَتْلٌ، سُكْرٌ، بَطَرٌ، وَأَمْثَالُ هَذِهِ ٱلَّتِي أَسْبِقُ فَأَقُولُ لَكُمْ عَنْهَا كَمَا سَبَقْتُ فَقُلْتُ أَيْضًا: إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْعَلُونَ مِثْلَ هَذِهِ لَا يَرِثُونَ مَلَكُوتَ ٱللهِ.

envy, murder, drunkenness, revelling, and all the like things. And they who perpetrate these things, as I have before told you, and also now tell you, do not inherit the kingdom of God.

٢٢ 22 وَأَمَّا ثَمَرُ ٱلرُّوحِ فَهُوَ: مَحَبَّةٌ، فَرَحٌ، سَلَامٌ، طُولُ أَنَاةٍ، لُطْفٌ، صَلَاحٌ، إِيمَانٌ،

But the fruits of the Spirit are, love, joy, peace, long suffering, suavity, kindness, fidelity, modesty, patience.

٢٣ 23 وَدَاعَةٌ، تَعَفُّفٌ. ضِدَّ أَمْثَالِ هَذِهِ لَيْسَ نَامُوسٌ.

Against these there standeth no law.

٢٤ 24 وَلَكِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلْمَسِيحِ قَدْ صَلَبُوا ٱلْجَسَدَ مَعَ ٱلْأَهْوَاءِ وَٱلشَّهَوَاتِ.

And they who are of the Messiah, have crucified their flesh, with all its passions and its cravings.

٢٥ 25 إِنْ كُنَّا نَعِيشُ بِٱلرُّوحِ، فَلْنَسْلُكْ أَيْضًا بِحَسَبِ ٱلرُّوحِ.

Let us therefore live in the Spirit; and let us press on after the Spirit.

٢٦ 26 لَا نَكُنْ مُعْجِبِينَ نُغَاضِبُ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا، وَنَحْسِدُ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا.

And let us not be vain-glorious, despising one another, and envying one another.
