صَمُوئِيلَ ٱلثَّانِي 8

١ 1 وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ضَرَبَ دَاوُدُ ٱلْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ وَذَلَّلَهُمْ، وَأَخَذَ دَاوُدُ «زِمَامَ ٱلْقَصَبَةِ» مِنْ يَدِ ٱلْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ.

And it was after thus and he defeated David [the] Philistines and he subdued them and he took David Metheg-ammah from [the] hand of [the] Philistines.

٢ 2 وَضَرَبَ ٱلْمُوآبِيِّينَ وَقَاسَهُمْ بِٱلْحَبْلِ. أَضْجَعَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ، فَقَاسَ بِحَبْلَيْنِ لِلْقَتْلِ وَبِحَبْلٍ لِلِٱسْتِحْيَاءِ. وَصَارَ ٱلْمُوآبِيُّونَ عَبِيدًا لِدَاوُدَ يُقَدِّمُونَ هَدَايَا.

And he defeated Moab and he measured off them with measuring-line he made lie down them [the] ground towards and he measured off two measuring-lines to put to death and [the] fullness of measuring-line to let live and it became Moab of David servants bearing tribute.

٣ 3 وَضَرَبَ دَاوُدُ هَدَدَ عَزَرَ بْنَ رَحُوبَ مَلِكَ صُوبَةَ حِينَ ذَهَبَ لِيَرُدَّ سُلْطَتَهُ عِنْدَ نَهْرِ ٱلْفُرَاتِ.

And he defeated David Hadadezer [the] son of Rehob [the] king of Zobah when went he to restore hand his (at [the] river Euphrates. *QK)

٤ 4 فَأَخَذَ دَاوُدُ مِنْهُ أَلْفًا وَسَبْعَ مِئَةِ فَارِسٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَلْفَ رَاجِلٍ. وَعَرْقَبَ دَاوُدُ جَمِيعَ خَيْلِ ٱلْمَرْكَبَاتِ وَأَبْقَى مِنْهَا مِئَةَ مَرْكَبَةٍ.

And he captured David from him one thousand and seven hundred horsemen and twenty thousand man on foot and he hamstrung David all the chariotry and he left of it one hundred chariot[s].

٥ 5 فَجَاءَ أَرَامُ دِمَشْقَ لِنَجْدَةِ هَدَدَ عَزَرَ مَلِكِ صُوبَةَ، فَضَرَبَ دَاوُدُ مِنْ أَرَامَ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَعِشْرِينَ أَلْفَ رَجُلٍ.

And it came Aram Damascus to help Hadadezer [the] king of Zobah and he struck down David among Aram twenty and two thousand man.

٦ 6 وَجَعَلَ دَاوُدُ مُحَافِظِينَ فِي أَرَامِ دِمَشْقَ، وَصَارَ ٱلْأَرَامِيُّونَ لِدَاوُدَ عَبِيدًا يُقَدِّمُونَ هَدَايَا. وَكَانَ ٱلرَّبُّ يُخَلِّصُ دَاوُدَ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَ.

And he put David garrisons in Aram Damascus and it became Aram of David servants bearing tribute and he gave victory to Yahweh David in every where he went.

٧ 7 وَأَخَذَ دَاوُدُ أَتْرَاسَ ٱلذَّهَبِ ٱلَّتِي كَانَتْ عَلَى عَبِيدِ هَدَدَ عَزَرَ وَأَتَى بِهَا إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ.

And he took David [the] shields of gold which they were to [the] servants of Hadadezer and he brought them Jerusalem.

٨ 8 وَمِنْ بَاطِحَ وَمِنْ بِيرَوَثَايَ، مَدِينَتَيْ هَدَدَ عَزَرَ، أَخَذَ ٱلْمَلِكُ دَاوُدُ نُحَاسًا كَثِيرًا جِدًّا.

And from Betah and from Berothai [the] cities of Hadadezer he took the king David bronze much very.

٩ 9 وَسَمِعَ تُوعِي مَلِكُ حَمَاةَ أَنَّ دَاوُدَ قَدْ ضَرَبَ كُلَّ جَيْشِ هَدَدَ عَزَرَ،

And he heard Toi [the] king of Hamath that he had defeated David all [the] army of Hadadezer.

١٠ 10 فَأَرْسَلَ تُوعِي يُورَامَ ٱبْنَهُ إِلَى ٱلْمَلِكِ دَاوُدَ لِيَسْأَلَ عَنْ سَلَامَتِهِ وَيُبَارِكَهُ لِأَنَّهُ حَارَبَ هَدَدَ عَزَرَ وَضَرَبَهُ، لِأَنَّ هَدَدَ عَزَرَ وكَانَتْ لَهُ حُرُوبٌ مَعَ تُوعِي. وَكَانَتْ بِيَدِهِ آنِيَةُ فِضَّةٍ وَآنِيَةُ ذَهَبٍ وَآنِيَةُ نُحَاسٍ.

And he sent Toi Joram son his to the king David to ask of him to welfare and to bless him on that he had waged war against Hadadezer and he had defeated him for man of wars of Toi he was Hadadezer and in hand his they were articles of silver and articles of gold and articles of bronze.

١١ 11 وَهَذِهِ أَيْضًا قَدَّسَهَا ٱلْمَلِكُ دَاوُدُ لِلرَّبِّ مَعَ ٱلْفِضَّةِ وَٱلذَّهَبِ ٱلَّذِي قَدَّسَهُ مِنْ جَمِيعِ ٱلشُّعُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ أَخْضَعَهُمْ

Also them he consecrated the king David to Yahweh with the silver and the gold which he had consecrated from all the nations which he had subdued.

١٢ 12 مِنْ أَرَامَ، وَمِنْ مُوآبَ، وَمِنْ بَنِي عَمُّونَ، وَمِنَ ٱلْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ، وَمِنْ عَمَالِيقَ، وَمِنْ غَنِيمَةِ هَدَدَ عَزَرَ بْنِ رَحُوبَ مَلِكِ صُوبَةَ.

From Aram and from Moab and from [the] people of Ammon and from [the] Philistines and from Amalek and from [the] plunder of Hadadezer [the] son of Rehob [the] king of Zobah.

١٣ 13 وَنَصَبَ دَاوُدُ تَذْكَارًا عِنْدَ رُجُوعِهِ مِنْ ضَرْبِهِ ثَمَانِيَةَ عَشَرَ أَلْفًا مِنْ أَرَامَ فِي وَادِي ٱلْمِلْحِ.

And he made David a name when returned he from defeating he Aram in [the] Valley of Salt eight-teen thousand.

١٤ 14 وَجَعَلَ فِي أَدُومَ مُحَافِظِينَ. وَضَعَ مُحَافِظِينَ فِي أَدُومَ كُلِّهَا. وَكَانَ جَمِيعُ ٱلْأَدُومِيِّينَ عَبِيدًا لِدَاوُدَ. وَكَانَ ٱلرَّبُّ يُخَلِّصُ دَاوُدَ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَ.

And he put in Edom garrisons in all Edom he put garrisons and it was all Edom servants of David and he gave victory to Yahweh David in every where he went.

١٥ 15 وَمَلَكَ دَاوُدُ عَلَى جَمِيعِ إِسْرَائِيلَ. وَكَانَ دَاوُدُ يُجْرِي قَضَاءً وَعَدْلًا لِكُلِّ شَعْبِهِ.

And he reigned David over all Israel and he was David doing justice and righteousness for all people his.

١٦ 16 وَكَانَ يُوآبُ ٱبْنُ صَرُويَةَ عَلَى ٱلْجَيْشِ، وَيَهُوشَافَاطُ بْنُ أَخِيلُودَ مُسَجِّلًا،

And Joab [the] son of Zeruiah [was] over the army and Jehoshaphat [the] son of Ahilud [was] recorder.

١٧ 17 وَصَادُوقُ بْنُ أَخِيطُوبَ وَأَخِيمَالِكُ بْنُ أَبِيَاثَارَ كَاهِنَيْنِ، وَسَرَايَا كَاتِبًا،

And Zadok [the] son of Ahitub and Ahimelech [the] son of Abiathar [were] priests and Seraiah [was] secretary.

١٨ 18 وَبَنَايَاهُو بْنُ يَهُويَادَاعَ عَلَى ٱلْجَّلَادِينَ وَٱلسُّعَاةِ، وَبَنُو دَاوُدَ كَانُوا كَهَنَةً.

And Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and the Kerethite[s] and the Pelethite[s] and [the] sons of David [were] priests they were.
