١ تيموثاوس 5

١ 1 لَا تَزْجُرْ شَيْخًا بَلْ عِظْهُ كَأَبٍ، وَٱلْأَحْدَاثَ كَإِخْوَةٍ،

Do not scold an older man. Instead, exhort him as if he were a father. Exhort younger men as if they were brothers.

٢ 2 وَٱلْعَجَائِزَ كَأُمَّهَاتٍ، وَٱلْحَدَثَاتِ كَأَخَوَاتٍ، بِكُلِّ طَهَارَةٍ.

Exhort older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters in all purity.

٣ 3 أَكْرِمِ ٱلْأَرَامِلَ ٱللَّوَاتِي هُنَّ بِٱلْحَقِيقَةِ أَرَامِلُ.

Honor widows, the real widows.

٤ 4 وَلَكِنْ إِنْ كَانَتْ أَرْمَلَةٌ لَهَا أَوْلَادٌ أَوْ حَفَدَةٌ، فَلْيَتَعَلَّمُوا أَوَّلًا أَنْ يُوَقِّرُوا أَهْلَ بَيْتِهِمْ وَيُوفُوا وَالِدِيهِمِ ٱلْمُكَافَأَةَ، لِأَنَّ هَذَا صَالِحٌ وَمَقْبُولٌ أَمَامَ ٱللهِ.

But if a widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show honor in their own household. Let them repay their parents, because this is pleasing to God.

٥ 5 وَلَكِنَّ ٱلَّتِي هِيَ بِٱلْحَقِيقَةِ أَرْمَلَةٌ وَوَحِيدَةٌ، فَقَدْ أَلْقَتْ رَجَاءَهَا عَلَى ٱللهِ، وَهِيَ تُواظِبُ ٱلطِّلِبَاتِ وَٱلصَّلَوَاتِ لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا.

But a real widow is left all alone. She puts her certain hope in God. She always remains with requests and prayers both night and day.

٦ 6 وَأَمَّا ٱلْمُتَنَعِّمَةُ فَقَدْ مَاتَتْ وَهِيَ حَيَّةٌ.

However, the woman who lives for pleasure is dead, even though she is still alive.

٧ 7 فَأَوْصِ بِهَذَا لِكَيْ يَكُنَّ بِلَا لَوْمٍ.

Give these instructions as well, so that they may be blameless.

٨ 8 وَإِنْ كَانَ أَحَدٌ لَا يَعْتَنِي بِخَاصَّتِهِ، وَلَا سِيَّمَا أَهْلُ بَيْتِهِ، فَقَدْ أَنْكَرَ ٱلْإِيمَانَ، وَهُوَ شَرٌّ مِنْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِ.

But if someone does not provide for his own relatives, especially for those of his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

٩ 9 لِتُكْتَتَبْ أَرْمَلَةٌ، إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ عُمْرُهَا أَقَلَّ مِنْ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً، ٱمْرَأَةَ رَجُلٍ وَاحِدٍ،

Let a woman be enrolled as a widow who is not younger than sixty, a wife of one husband.

١٠ 10 مَشْهُودًا لَهَا فِي أَعْمَالٍ صَالِحَةٍ، إِنْ تَكُنْ قَدْ رَبَّتِ ٱلْأَوْلَادَ، أَضَافَتِ ٱلْغُرَبَاءَ، غَسَّلَتْ أَرْجُلَ ٱلْقِدِّيسِينَ، سَاعَدَتِ ٱلْمُتَضَايِقِينَ، ٱتَّبَعَتْ كُلَّ عَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ.

She must be known for good deeds, whether it is that she has cared for children, or has been hospitable to strangers, or has washed the feet of the saints, or has relieved the afflicted, or has been devoted to every good work.

١١ 11 أَمَّا ٱلْأَرَامِلُ ٱلْحَدَثَاتُ فَٱرْفُضْهُنَّ، لِأَنَّهُنَّ مَتَى بَطِرْنَ عَلَى ٱلْمَسِيحِ، يُرِدْنَ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجْنَ،

But as for younger widows, refuse to enroll them in the list. For when they give in to bodily desires against Christ, they want to marry.

١٢ 12 وَلَهُنَّ دَيْنُونَةٌ لِأَنَّهُنَّ رَفَضْنَ ٱلْإِيمَانَ ٱلْأَوَّلَ.

In this way they incur guilt because they revoke their first commitment.

١٣ 13 وَمَعَ ذَلِكَ أَيْضًا يَتَعَلَّمْنَ أَنْ يَكُنَّ بَطَّالَاتٍ، يَطُفْنَ فِي ٱلْبُيُوتِ. وَلَسْنَ بَطَّالَاتٍ فَقَطْ بَلْ مِهْذَارَاتٌ أَيْضًا، وَفُضُولِيَّاتٌ، يَتَكَلَّمْنَ بِمَا لَا يَجِبُ.

At the same time, they also learn to be lazy and they go around from house to house. They not only become lazy, but they also talk nonsense and are busybodies, saying things they should not say.

١٤ 14 فَأُرِيدُ أَنَّ ٱلْحَدَثَاتِ يَتَزَوَّجْنَ وَيَلِدْنَ ٱلْأَوْلَادَ وَيُدَبِّرْنَ ٱلْبُيُوتَ، وَلَا يُعْطِينَ عِلَّةً لِلْمُقَاوِمِ مِنْ أَجْلِ ٱلشَّتْمِ.

I therefore want younger women to marry, to bear children, to manage the household, and to give no opportunity for the enemy to slander us.

١٥ 15 فَإِنَّ بَعْضَهُنَّ قَدِ ٱنْحَرَفْنَ وَرَاءَ ٱلشَّيْطَانِ.

For some have already turned aside after Satan.

١٦ 16 إِنْ كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ أَوْ مُؤْمِنَةٍ أَرَامِلُ، فَلْيُسَاعِدْهُنَّ وَلَا يُثَقَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْكَنِيسَةِ، لِكَيْ تُسَاعِدَ هِيَ ٱللَّوَاتِي هُنَّ بِٱلْحَقِيقَةِ أَرَامِلُ.

If any believing woman has widows, let her help them, so that the church will not be weighed down, so that it might help the real widows.

١٧ 17 أَمَّا ٱلشُّيُوخُ ٱلْمُدَبِّرُونَ حَسَنًا فَلْيُحْسَبُوا أَهْلًا لِكَرَامَةٍ مُضَاعَفَةٍ، وَلَا سِيَّمَا ٱلَّذِينَ يَتْعَبُونَ فِي ٱلْكَلِمَةِ وَٱلتَّعْلِيمِ،

Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work with the word and in teaching.

١٨ 18 لِأَنَّ ٱلْكِتَابَ يَقُولُ: «لَا تَكُمَّ ثَوْرًا دَارِسًا»، وَ«ٱلْفَاعِلُ مُسْتَحِقٌّ أُجْرَتَهُ».

For the scripture says, “You shall not put a muzzle on an ox while it treads the grain” and “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”

١٩ 19 لَا تَقْبَلْ شِكَايَةً عَلَى شَيْخٍ إِلَّا عَلَى شَاهِدَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةِ شُهُودٍ.

Do not receive an accusation against an elder unless there are two or three witnesses.

٢٠ 20 اَلَّذِينَ يُخْطِئُونَ وَبِّخْهُمْ أَمَامَ ٱلْجَمِيعِ، لِكَيْ يَكُونَ عِنْدَ ٱلْبَاقِينَ خَوْفٌ.

Correct sinners before all so that the rest may be afraid.

٢١ 21 أُنَاشِدُكَ أَمَامَ ٱللهِ وَٱلرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ ٱلْمَسِيحِ وَٱلْمَلَائِكَةِ ٱلْمُخْتَارِينَ، أَنْ تَحْفَظَ هَذَا بِدُونِ غَرَضٍ، وَلَا تَعْمَلَ شَيْئًا بِمُحَابَاةٍ.

I solemnly command you before God and Christ Jesus and the chosen angels, to keep these commands without partiality, and to do nothing out of favoritism.

٢٢ 22 لَا تَضَعْ يَدًا عَلَى أَحَدٍ بِٱلْعَجَلَةِ، وَلَا تَشْتَرِكْ فِي خَطَايَا ٱلْآخَرِينَ. اِحْفَظْ نَفْسَكَ طَاهِرًا.

Place hands hastily on no one. Do not share in the sins of another person. You should keep yourself pure.

٢٣ 23 لَا تَكُنْ فِي مَا بَعْدُ شَرَّابَ مَاءٍ، بَلِ ٱسْتَعْمِلْ خَمْرًا قَلِيلًا مِنْ أَجْلِ مَعِدَتِكَ وَأَسْقَامِكَ ٱلْكَثِيرَةِ.

You should no longer drink water. Instead, you should take a little wine for the stomach and your frequent sicknesses.

٢٤ 24 خَطَايَا بَعْضِ ٱلنَّاسِ وَاضِحَةٌ تَتَقَدَّمُ إِلَى ٱلْقَضَاءِ، وَأَمَّا ٱلْبَعْضُ فَتَتْبَعُهُمْ.

The sins of some people are openly known, and they go before them into judgment. But some sins follow later.

٢٥ 25 كَذَلِكَ أَيْضًا ٱلْأَعْمَالُ ٱلصَّالِحَةُ وَاضِحَةٌ، وَٱلَّتِي هِيَ خِلَافُ ذَلِكَ لَا يُمْكِنُ أَنْ تُخْفَى.

Likewise, some good works are openly known, but even the others cannot be hidden.
