1 Utasalonika 5

1 Nbelen na biri nin na kus, na ubelen woru i nyertin minu imomon diba.

But, concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, —ye have, no need, that, unto you, anything be written;

2 Anun atimine yiru chaut lirin Chikilari nofo ukiri nin kitik.

For, ye yourselves, perfectly well know—that, the day of the Lord, as a thief in the night, so, cometh;

3 Asa iworo, “Mmang nin taup,” umolsu ba dak nani. Nnafo uwan nmaru na asa alanza ukonu. Na nnere na iba nyeshu nu ba.

As soon as they begin to say—Peace! and safety! then, suddenly, upon them, cometh destruction, —just as the birth-throe unto her that is with child, —and in nowise shall they escape.

4 Anun linuana, na idi nyan nsirt ba bari lo lire wa tuu minu nofo ukiri.

But, ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that, the day, upon you, as upon thieves, should lay hold;

5 Bara anun vat nonon nkanangari nin nnonon lirin. Na arik nono kiti kari ba sa nonon sirt.

For, all ye, are, sons of light, and sons of day, —we are not of night, nor of darkness:

6 Bara nani, na tiwa sun mmoro nofo nigisine ba na ti yenje kiti tikpilza kidung.

Hence, then, let us not be sleeping, as the rest, but let us watch and be sober: —

7 Alenge na idin moro idin su nin kitikari, alenge tutung na idin soh idin su nin kitikari.

For, they that sleep, by night, do sleep, and, they that drink, by night, do drink: —

8 Bara na arik nono liri gnari, na ti kpilza kidung. Na ti shon kuyangi kidegen nin suu, a, kitik, kidegen tuchu uchin dak.

But, we, being of the day, let us be sober, putting on a breastplate of faith and love, and, for helmet, the hope of salvation.

9 Na Kutelle na che na bara tinana nayi mere ba, bara usen tuchu nyan Cikilari Yesu Kristi.

Because God did not appoint us unto anger, but unto acquiring salvation through our Lord Jesus [Christ]: —

10 Ulenge na aku bara arik, Sa tidin yenju kiti sa ti din moro, ti so ligowe nin ghe.

Who died for us, in order that, whether we be watching or sleeping, together with him, we should live.

11 Bara nanitan linuana nofo na ina man su.

Wherefore be consoling one another, and building up, each the other, —even as ye are also doing.

12 Ti din belu minu, linuana, yinnan nin na lenge na ina su kataah nyan mine nin nalenge na itaa minu akara.

Now we request you, brethren, —to know them who are toiling among you, and presiding over you, in the Lord, and admonishing you;

13 Tikuru tibelin minu minon nani kang nyan suu bara kataah mine. Son mang nya mine.

And to hold them in very high esteem, in love, their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves,

14 Ti din ti minu akara, linuana: ale na isosin sa ukpadu wunon nani atuf, ale na nibinei mine kete ita nani akara nibinei, wutun kimal na le na idi gugur, nonkon nibinei.

But we exhort you, brethren—admonish the disorderly, soothe them of little soul, help the weak, be longsuffering towards all:

15 Yenje umon wa kurtung imon inan zan nin ni nanzang udu kitin mong. Tenzinen nimon ichine udu linuana nin vat.

See that none, evil for evil, unto any, do render: but, evermore, what is good, be pursuing, towards one another, and towards all:

16 Suun liburi libo-o kolome liri.

Evermore, rejoice,

17 Suun nlira sa ligang.

Unceasingly, pray,

18 Nya nimon vat nan ugodo. Bara ulelere usu Kutelle nyan Kristi Yesu bara anun.

In everything, give thanks, —for, this, is a thing willed of God, in Christ Jesus, towards you:

19 Yenje uwa bicho Ufunu.

The Spirit, do not quench,

20 Yenje uwa nari ni dura.

Prophesyings, do not despise,

21 Dumuna imon vat. Mino ile imon a ichineari.

[But], all things, put to the proof—what is comely, hold ye fast:

22 Chino vat nimon inanzan.

From every form of wickedness, abstain.

23 Na Kutelle mmang litime akusu fi vat, ulai nin kidowo fe so sa ndinon udak Ncikilari Yesu Kristi.

But, the God of peace himself, hallow you completely, and, entire, might your spirit, and soul, and body, —[so as to be] unblameable in the Presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, —be preserved!

24 Unan kidegen ame ulenge na adin yichu fi, ulenge na aba su.

Faithful, is he that is calling you, —who, also will perform.

25 Linuana, sun nlira bara arik.

Brethren! be praying for us [also].

26 Lison linuana vat nin lulu na kpan nnuu ulau.

Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.

27 Ndin for achara nyan Cikilari nworu ikaranta iyert ilele udu linuana vat.

I adjure you, by the Lord, that the letter be read unto all the brethren!

28 Na nshew Cikilari bite Yesu Kristi so nan ghinu anun.
