1 Nene ubelle nille imon na ina bọ bara incil, tiyiru nani, “vat bite dinin yiru” uyinnu din dak nin ghatinu liti, usu din ke imon.
RESPECTING the sacrifices of idols, we know that in all of us there is knowledge; and knowledge inflateth, but love buildeth up.
2 Asa umon din kpilizu ame yiru imoimon, unit une nsa yinnu nafo udu ayinin ba.
But if a man think that he knows any thing, he knows nothing yet as it behoves him to know:
3 Adin umon dinin su Kutellẹ, Kutellẹ wang yirughe.
but if a man love Aloha, this (one) is acknowledged of him.
4 Kitene in li nimonli ile na ina nakpa incil: arike yiru “incil nanya yii ulele na imonari ba” tutung, “na nkon Kutellẹ duku ba kurumari.”
Concerning the meat of the sacrifices of idols, then, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.
5 Vat nin nani, amon duku alle na idin sunani atellẹ nanya kitene kani sa inyii, nafo na atellẹ nan cinilari dukun gbardang.”
For there are also who are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, as that there are gods many and lords many:
6 Vat nani kiti bitẹ tidi nin Kutellẹ kurum Ncif bit unuzu kiti mere vat nimon, kiti mere ti sosin, nin Cikilari Yisa Kristi warum. kiti mere imon duku nin kit mere arik sosin.”
but to us our One is Aloha the Father, of whom are all, and we in him; and one Lord Jeshu Meshiha, by whom are all, and we by him.
7 Vat nani, na ulẹ uyire koghari dimunba. Amon na di incil, inug leo imonli ilenge na iwa nakpa incil, nibinai mine wa ti nanza usali likara.
But not in every man is this knowledge; for there are some who in their conscience until now (believe) that, with respect to idols, as of that which hath been sacrificed we eat. And because of weakness their conscience is defiled.
8 Na bara imonliari ba ti iyiru nari udu kiti Kutellẹ ba. Na ti nana ba tiwa din woru na ti leo ba, sa tiwa so sa ulẹ ukatin nani.
But meat doth not bring us nigh to Aloha. For if we eat, we excel not; nor if we eat not, are we deficient.
9 Nin nani sun seig, na u shutu mine nwaso umon ule na adinin nagang nanya yinnu sa uyenu ba, imon ndiu.
But beware that this your power become not a stumbling-block to the infirm ones.
10 Bara umon wa yene fi, ule na adinin yiru, udi nli nimonli kutyin incil. Na nibinai minere nin diru nakare ba ni ani agang nli nimon ile na inakpa incile ba?
For if a man shall see thee in whom is knowledge reclining in the house of idols, will not his conscience, because he is weak, be confirmed to eat that which is sacrificed,
11 Bara uyiru kidegen fe kitenen ncil, gwana fe kilime sa kishono anan diru likara na Kristi wa ku bara inug, aba wullu.
and he will perish through thy knowledge? he who is weak, and on account of whom the Meshiha died.
12 Yinno asa uta gwanafine kilime sa kishono unanzu nibinai mine nin sali likara ukul, uta Kristi ku kulapi.
And if so you transgress against your brethren, and wound their weak consciences, do you not transgress against the Meshiha?
13 Bara nani asa imonli ba ti gwananin kilime sa kishono atiro, na nba kuru nli finawa tutun ba, bara nwa ti gwana nin kilime sa kishono adiu. (aiōn g165)
On this account, if meat cause my brother to stumble, I will never (more) eat flesh, that I may not cause my brother to stumble. (aiōn g165)
