Psalmet 4
1 Kur thërras, përgjigjmu, o Perëndi i drejtësisë sime; kur isha në fatkeqësi, ti më ke ndihmuar; ki mëshirë për mua dhe plotësoje lutjen time.
For the End, a Song of David among [the ]Psalms. When I called upon [him], the God of my righteousness heard me: thou hast made room for me in tribulation; pity me, and hearken to my prayer.
2 Deri kur, o bij të njerëzve, do të fyhet rëndë lavdia ime? Deri kur do të jepeni pas kotësisë dhe do të shkoni pas gënjeshtrës? (Sela)
O ye sons of men, how long [will ye be] slow of heart? wherefore do ye love vanity, and seek falsehood? (Pause)
3 Por dijeni se Zoti ka zgjedhur një që është i shenjtë; Zoti do të më plotësojë dëshirën kur do t’i thërras atij.
But know ye that the Lord has done wondrous things for his holy one: the Lord will hear me when I cry to him.
4 Zemërohuni dhe mos mëkatoni; në shtratin tuaj mendohuni shumë në zemër tuaj dhe qëndroni në heshtje. (Sela)
Be ye angry, and sin not; feel compunction upon your beds for what ye say in your hearts. (Pause)
5 Ofroni flijime drejtësie dhe kini besim te Zoti.
Offer the sacrifice of righteousness, and trust in the Lord.
6 Shumë thonë: “Kush do të na tregojë të mirën?”. O Zot, bëj që të shkëlqejë drita e fytyrës sate mbi ne.
Many say, Who will shew us good things? the light of thy countenance, O Lord, has been manifested towards us.
7 Ti më ke shtënë në zemër më tepër gëzim nga sa ndjejnë ata, kur kanë grurë dhe musht me shumicë.
Thou hast put gladness into my heart: they have been satisfied with the fruit of their corn and wine and oil.
8 Në paqe do të bie dhe në paqe do të fle, sepse ti vetëm, o Zot, më mban në siguri.
I will both lie down in peace and sleep: for thou, Lord, only hast caused me to dwell securely.
