1 Fjalë të mbretit Lemuel, mesazhi profetik me të cilin e mësoi e ëma.
My words have been spoken by God—the oracular answer of a king, whom his mother instructed.
2 Çfarë të të them, biri im? Çfarë të të them, biri i barkut tim? Çfarë të të them, bir i zotimeve të mia?
What will you keep, my son, what? the words of God. My firstborn son, I speak to you: what? son of my womb? what? son of my vows?
3 Mos ua jep forcën tënde grave as jetën tënde asaj që shkatërron mbretërit.
Give not your wealth to women, nor your mind and living to remorse. Do all things with counsel: drink wine with counsel.
4 Nuk u shkon mbretërve, o Lemuel, nuk u shkon mbretërve të pinë verë as princave të dëshirojnë pije dehëse,
Princes are prone to anger: let them then not drink wine:
5 sepse duke pirë të mos harrojnë ligjin dhe të mos shtrembërojnë të drejtën e të pikëlluarve.
lest they drink, and forget wisdom, and be not able to judge the poor rightly.
6 Jepini pije dehëse atij që është duke vdekur dhe verë atij që e ka zemrën të hidhëruar.
Give strong drink to those that are in sorrow, and the wine to drink to those in pain:
7 Le të pijë për të harruar varfërinë e tij dhe për të mos kujtuar më hallet e tij.
that they may forget their poverty, and may not remember their troubles any more.
8 Hape gojën tënde në favor të memecit, në mbrojtje të të gjithë atyre që janë lënë pas dore.
Open your mouth with the word of God, and judge all fairly.
9 Hape gojën tënde, gjyko me drejtësi dhe mbro çështjen e të mjerit dhe të nevojtarit.
Open your mouth and judge justly, and plead the cause of the poor and weak.
10 Kush do të gjejë një grua të fortë dhe të virtytshme? Vlera e saj është shumë më e madhe nga ajo e margaritarëve.
Who shall find a virtuous woman? for such a one is more valuable than precious stones.
11 Zemra e burrit të saj ka besim tek ajo, dhe do të ketë gjithnjë fitime.
The heart of her husband trusts in her: such a one shall stand in no need of fine spoils.
12 Ajo i bën të mira dhe jo të keqe tërë ditët e jetës së saj.
For she employs all her living for her husband's good.
13 Gjen lesh dhe li dhe punon me gëzim me duart e veta.
Gathering wool and flax, she makes it serviceable with her hands.
14 Ajo u përngjan anijeve të tregëtarëve: e sjell ushqimin e saj nga larg.
She is like a ship trading from a distance: so she procures her livelihood.
15 Çohet që me natë për t’i ndarë ushqimin familjes së saj dhe për t’u dhënë urdhërat e nevojshme shërbëtoreve të saj.
And she rises by night, and gives food to her household, and [appointed] tasks to her maidens.
16 Ajo shikon një arë dhe e ble; me duart e saj mbjell një vresht.
She views a farm, and buys it: and with the fruit of her hands she plants and a possession.
17 Ngjesh me forcë ijët dhe i bën më të fortë krahët e saj.
She strongly girds her loins, and strengthens her arms for work.
18 E kupton që tregëtia e saj po shkon mbarë dhe llamba e saj e natës nuk i shuhet.
And she finds by experience that working is good; and her candle goes not out all night.
19 Shtrin dorën mbi furkën, pëllëmbat e saj zënë boshtin.
She reaches forth her arms to needful [works], and applies her hands to the spindle.
20 I shtrin dorën të varfërit dhe i jep dorën nevojtarit.
And she opens her hands to the needy, and reaches out fruit to the poor.
21 Nuk i trembet borës për familjen e saj, sepse tërë ata të shtëpisë së vet kanë një veshje të dyfishtë.
Her husband is not anxious about those at home when he tarries anywhere abroad: for all her household are clothed.
22 Bën për vete mbulesa si sixhade dhe rrobat e saj janë prej liri shumë të hollë dhe të purpurta.
She makes for her husband clothes of double texture, and garments for herself of fine linen and scarlet.
23 Burri i saj nderohet te porta, kur ulet bashkë me pleqtë e vendit.
And her husband becomes a distinguished [person] in the gates, when he sits in council with the old inhabitants of the land.
24 Përgatit rroba prej liri dhe i shet, i furnizon me breza tregtarët.
She makes fine linens, and sells girdles to the Chananites: she opens her mouth heedfully and with propriety, and controls her tongue.
25 Forca dhe nderi janë rrobat e saj dhe qesh për ditët që do të vijnë.
She puts on strength and honor; and rejoices in the last days.
26 Hap gojën e saj me dituri dhe mbi gjuhën e saj është ligji i mirësisë.
But she opens her mouth wisely, and according to law.
27 Ajo mbikqyr si shkon shtëpia e vet dhe nuk ha bukën e përtacisë.
The ways of her household are careful, and she eats not the bread of idleness.
28 Bijtë e saj ngrihen dhe e shpallin fatlume; edhe burri i saj e lëvdon duke thënë:
And [her] kindness to them sets up her children for them, and they grow rich, and her husband praises her.
29 “Shumë bija kanë bërë gjëra të mëdha, por ti i kalon të gjitha ato”.
Many daughters have obtained wealth, many have wrought valiantly; but you have exceeded, you have surpassed all.
30 Hiri është i rremë dhe bukuria është e kotë, por gruaja që ka frikë nga Zoti është ajo që do të lëvdohet.
Charms are false, and woman's beauty is vain: for it is a wise woman that is blessed, and let her praise the fear the Lord.
31 I jepni frytin e duarve të saj, dhe vet veprat e saj le ta lëvdojnë te portat.
Give her of the fruit of her lips; and let her husband be praised in the gates.
