Mateu 14
1 Në atë kohë Herodi, tetrarku, mori vesh famën e Jezusit,
In that tyme Eroude tetrarke, prynce of the fourthe part, herde the fame of Jhesu;
2 dhe u tha shërbëtorëve të vet: “Ky është Gjon Pagëzori; ai u ngjall së vdekuri dhe prandaj fuqitë e mbinatyrshme veprojnë në të”.
and seide to hise children, This is Joon Baptist, he is rysun fro deeth, and therfor vertues worchen in hym.
3 Herodi, në fakt, e kishte arrestuar Gjonin, i kishte hedhur prangat dhe e kishte futur në burg, për shkak të Herodiadës, gruas së Filipit, vëllait të vet.
For Heroude hadde holde Joon, and bounde hym, and puttide hym `in to prisoun for Herodias, the wijf of his brothir.
4 Sepse Gjoni i thoshte: “Nuk është e lejueshme të bashkëjetosh me të!”.
For Joon seide to him, It is not leueful to thee to haue hir.
5 Dhe, ndonëse donte ta vriste, Herodi kishte frikë nga populli që e konsideronte Gjonin profet.
And he willynge to sle hym, dredde the puple; for thei hadden hym as a prophete.
6 Kur po festohej ditëlindja e Herodit, e bija e Herodiadës vallëzoi përpara tij dhe i pëlqeu Herodit
But in the dai of Heroudis birthe, the douytir of Herodias daunside in the myddil, and pleside Heroude.
7 aq shumë, sa ai i premtoi asaj me betim se do t’i jepte çfarëdo që t’i kërkonte.
Wherfor with an ooth he bihiyte to yyue to hir, what euere thing she hadde axid of hym.
8 Dhe ajo, e shtyrë nga e ëma, tha: “Ma jep këtu, mbi një pjatë, kokën e Gjon Pagëzorit”.
And she bifor warned of hir modir, seide, Yif thou to me here the heed of Joon Baptist in a disch.
9 Mbretit i erdhi keq, po për shkak të betimit dhe të ftuarve që ishin me të në tryezë, urdhëroi që t’ia japin.
And the kyng was sorewful, but for the ooth, and for hem that saten to gidere at the mete, he comaundide to be youun.
10 Kështu dërgoi dikë për t’i prerë kokën Gjon Pagëzorit në burg;
And he sente, and bihedide Joon in the prisoun.
11 dhe kokën e tij e prunë mbi një pjatë dhe ia dhanë vajzës; ajo ia çoi s’ëmës.
And his heed was brouyt in a dische, and it was youun to the damysel, and she bar it to hir modir.
12 Pastaj erdhën dishepujt e tij, e morën trupin dhe e varrosën, mandej ata shkuan dhe ia treguan ngjarjen Jezusit.
And hise disciplis camen, and token his bodi, and birieden it; and thei camen, and tolden to Jhesu.
13 Kur Jezusi i dëgjoi këto, u nis që andej me një barkë dhe u tërhoq në vetmi, në një vend të shkretë. Dhe turmat, kur e morën vesh, e ndiqnin në këmbë nga qytetet.
And whanne Jhesus hadde herd this thing, he wente fro thennus in a boot, in to desert place bisides. And whanne the puple hadde herd, thei folewiden hym on her feet fro citees.
14 Dhe Jezusi, kur doli nga barka, pa një turmë të madhe, pati dhembshuri për të dhe shëroi ata që ishin të sëmurë.
And Jhesus yede out, and sai a greet puple, and hadde reuthe on hem, and heelide the sike men of hem.
15 Pastaj në mbrëmje dishepujt e tij iu afruan dhe i thanë: “Ky vend është i shkretë dhe u bë vonë; lejo turmat të shkojnë nëpër fshatra për të blerë ushqime”.
But whanne the euentid was com, hise disciplis camen to him, and seiden, The place is desert, and the tyme is now passid; lat the puple go in to townes, to bye hem mete.
16 Por Jezusi u tha atyre: “Nuk është nevoja të shkojnë; u jepni juve të hanë”.
Jhesus seide to hem, Thei han not nede to go; yyue ye hem sumwhat to ete.
17 Dhe ata i thanë: “Ne këtu nuk kemi tjetër përveç pesë bukë dhe dy peshq”.
Thei answeriden, We han not heere, but fyue looues and twei fischis.
18 Dhe ai u tha: “M’i sillni këtu”.
And he seide to hem, Brynge ye hem hidur to me.
19 Atëherë i urdhëroi që turmat të ulen mbi bar; pastaj i mori pesë bukët dhe dy peshqit dhe, pasi i çoi sytë drejt qiellit, i bekoi; i ndau bukët dhe ua dha dishepujve, dhe dishepujt turmave.
And whanne he hadde comaundid the puple to sitte to meete on the heye, he took fyue looues and twei fischis, and he bihelde in to heuene, and blesside, and brak, and yaf to hise disciplis; and the disciplis yauen to the puple.
20 Dhe të gjithë hëngrën dhe u ngopën; pastaj dishepujt mblodhën tepricat në dymbëdhjetë kosha plot.
And alle eten, and weren fulfillid. And thei tooken the relifs of brokun gobetis, twelue cofynes ful.
21 Dhe ata që hëngrën ishin rreth pesë mijë burra, pa i numëruar gratë dhe fëmijët.
And the noumbre of men that eten was fyue thousynde of men, outakun wymmen and lytle children.
22 Fill pas kësaj Jezusi i detyroi dishepujt e vet të hyjnë në barkë dhe t’i prijnë në bregun tjetër, deri sa ai t’i lëshojë turmat.
And anoon Jhesus compellide the disciplis to go vp in to a boot, and go bifor hym ouer the see, while he lefte the puple.
23 Mbasi i nisi ato, u ngjit vetëm mbi mal për t’u lutur. Dhe kur u ngrys ai gjëndej aty, i vetëm fare.
And whanne the puple was left, he stiede aloone in to an hil for to preie. But whanne the euenyng was come, he was there aloone.
24 Ndërkaq barka ndodhej në mes të detit; dhe përplasej nga valët sepse era i ishte e kundërt.
And the boot in the myddel of the see was schoggid with wawis, for the wynd was contrarie to hem.
25 Në rojën e katërt të natës, Jezusi shkoi drejt tyre, duke ecur mbi det.
But in the fourthe wakyng of the niyt, he cam to hem walkynge aboue the see.
26 Dishepujt duke parë atë që po ecte mbi det, u trembën dhe thanë: “Éshtë një fantazmë!”. Dhe filluan të bërtasin nga frika;
And thei, seynge hym walking on the see, weren disturblid, and seiden, That it is a fantum; and for drede thei crieden.
27 por menjëherë Jezusi u foli atyre duke thënë: “Qetësohuni; jam unë, mos kini frikë!”.
And anoon Jhesus spac to hem, and seide, Haue ye trust, Y am; nyle ye drede.
28 Dhe Pjetri, duke u përgjigjur tha: “Zot, nëse je ti, më urdhëro të vij te ti mbi ujëra”.
And Petre answeride, and seide, Lord, if thou art, comaunde me to come to thee on the watris.
29 Ai tha: “Eja!”. Dhe Pjetri zbriti nga barka dhe eci mbi ujëra, për të shkuar te Jezusi.
And he seide, Come thou. And Petre yede doun fro the boot, and walkide on the watris to come to Jhesu.
30 Por, duke parë erën e fortë, kishte frikë, dhe duke filluar të fundosej, bërtiti duke thënë: “O Zot, shpëtomë!”.
But he siy the wynd strong, and was aferde; and whanne he bigan to drenche, he criede, and seide, Lord, make me saaf.
31 Dhe Jezusi ia zgjati menjëherë dorën, e zuri dhe i tha: “O njeri besimpak, pse dyshove?”.
And anoon Jhesus helde forth his hoond, and took Petre, and seide to hym, Thou of litil feith, whi hast thou doutid?
32 Pastaj, kur hynë në barkë, era pushoi.
And whanne he hadde stied in to the boot, the wynd ceessid.
33 Atëherë ata që ishin në barkë erdhën dhe e adhuruan, duke thënë: “Me të vërtetë ti je Biri i Perëndisë!”.
And thei, that weren in the boot, camen, and worschipiden hym, and seiden, Verili, thou art Goddis sone.
34 Pastaj, mbasi dolën në bregun tjetër, erdhën në krahinën e Gjenezaretit.
And whanne thei hadden passid ouer the see, thei camen in to the loond of Genesar.
35 Dhe njerëzit e atij vendi, sapo e njohën, e përhapën fjalën në gjithë krahinën përreth; dhe i sollën të gjithë të sëmurët;
And whanne men of that place hadden knowe hym, thei senten in to al that cuntre; and thei brouyten to hym alle that hadden siknesse.
36 dhe iu lutën që të mund t’i preknin të paktën cepin e rrobes së tij; dhe të gjithë ata që e prekën u shëruan plotësisht.
And thei preieden hym, that thei schulden touche the hemme of his clothing; and who euere touchiden weren maad saaf.
