1 Unë jam njeriu që pa hidhërimin nën thuprën e tërbimit të tij.
I [, the one who am writing this, ] am a man who has been afflicted/punished [MTY] by Yahweh because he was angry.
2 Ai më ka udhëhequr dhe më ka bërë të eci nëpër terr dhe jo në dritë.
[It was as though] he caused me to walk in a very dark place without any light [at all].
3 Po, kundër meje ai ka kthyer disa herë dorën e tij tërë ditën.
He has punished [IDM] me many times, all day, [every] day.
4 Ai ka konsumuar mishin tim dhe lëkurën time, ka coptuar kockat e mia.
He has caused my skin and my flesh to become old. He has broken my bones.
5 Ka ndërtuar fortesa kundër meje, më ka rrethuar me hidhërim dhe me ankth.
He has surrounded me [DOU] with bitterness and suffering.
6 Ka bërë që unë të banoj në vende plot errësirë, ashtu si të vdekurit prej shumë kohe.
[It is as though] he has buried me in a dark place like [SIM] [the graves of] those who have been dead for a long time.
7 Më ka ndërtuar një mur rreth e qark, me qëllim që unë të mos dal; e ka bërë të rëndë zinxhirin tim.
[It is as though] [MET] he has built a wall around me, and fastened/tied me with heavy chains, and I cannot escape.
8 Edhe kur bërtas dhe kërkoj ndihmë me zë të lartë, ai nuk pranon të dëgjojë lutjen time.
Although I call out and cry out for him to help me, he does not pay attention to my prayers.
9 Ai i ka mbyllur rrugët e mia me gurë të prerë, i ka bërë shtigjet e mia plot me prita.
[It is as though] he has blocked my path with a [high] stone [wall] and has caused my path to become crooked.
10 Ai ka qenë për mua si një ari në pritë, si një luan në vende të fshehta.
He has waited to attack me like [SIM] a bear or a lion hides and waits [to attack other animals].
11 Ka devijuar rrugët e mia, më ka coptuar dhe më ka dëshpëruar.
[It is as though] he has dragged me off the path and (mauled me/torn me into pieces), and left me without help.
12 Ka nderur harkun e tij dhe më ka bërë objekt të shigjetave të tij.
[It is as though] [MET] he bent his bow and caused me to become the target [at which he shot] his arrows.
13 Ka bërë të depërtojnë në zemrën time shigjetat e kukurës së tij.
[It is as though] he shot his arrows deep into my body.
14 Jam bërë tallja e tërë popullit tim, kënga e tij e tërë ditës.
All my relatives laugh at me; all day, [every] day they sing songs that make fun of me.
15 Më ka ngopur me hidhërim, më ka bërë të pij pelin.
He has filled me with (bitterness/great suffering), [like] [MET] someone who drinks a very bitter liquid suffers.
16 Më ka coptuar dhëmbët me zall, më ka mbuluar me hi.
[It is as though] he has caused me to chew gravel that broke my teeth, and he has trampled me in the dirt.
17 Ke larguar shpirtin tim nga paqja, kam harruar mirëqënien.
Things no longer go well for me; I no longer remember being prosperous.
18 Kam thënë: “Éshtë zhdukur besimi im dhe shpresa ime tek Zoti”.
I [continued to] say [to myself], “I no longer expect to live much longer; I no longer confidently expect [to receive good things] from Yahweh!”
19 Kujtohu për pikëllimin dhe për endjen time, për pelinin dhe hidhërimin.
When I think about my suffering and my wandering [away from home], [it is like drinking] a very bitter [DOU] liquid.
20 Shpirti im kujtohet gjithnjë për këtë dhe është i rrëzuar brenda meje.
I will never forget this time when I feel very depressed/discouraged [IDM].
21 Këtë dua ta sjell në mëndje dhe prandaj dua të shpresoj.
However, I confidently expect [Yahweh to do good things for me again] when I think about this:
22 Éshtë një hir i Zotit që nuk jemi shkatërruar plotësisht, sepse mëshirat e tij nuk janë mbaruar plotësisht.
Yahweh never stops faithfully loving [us], and he never stops being kind to us.
23 Përtëriten çdo mëngjes; e madhe është besnikeria jote.
[He is the one whom we can] always trust/lean on. Every morning he is merciful [to us again].
24 “Zoti është pjesa ime”, thotë shpirti im, “prandaj do të kem shpresë tek ai.
[So] I say to myself, “Yahweh is all that I need; so I will confidently wait for him [to do good things for me].”
25 Zoti është i mirë me ata që kanë shpresë tek ai, me shpirtin që e kërkon.
Yahweh is good to [all] those who depend on him, to those who seek his [help].
26 Gjë e mirë është të presësh në heshtje shpëtimin e Zotit.
[So] it is good for us to wait quietly for Yahweh to save/rescue [us].
27 Gjë e mirë është për njeriun të mbajë zgjedhën në rininë e tij.
And it is good for us to [patiently] endure [suffering] while we are young.
28 Le të ulet i vetmuar dhe të qëndrojë në heshtje kur Perëndia ia imponon.
Those [who seek his help] should sit by themselves, silently, [knowing that] it is Yahweh who has allowed/caused them to suffer.
29 Le ta vërë gojën e tij në pluhur, ndofta ka ende shpresë.
They should lie in the dirt, with their faces on the ground, [because] they can still hope [that Yahweh will help them].
30 Le ti japë faqen atij që e godet, të ngopet me fyerje.
If someone strikes us on one cheek, we should turn the other cheek toward that person [in order that he may strike it, too], and accept/endure it when we are insulted.
31 Sepse Zoti nuk hedh poshtë për gjithnjë;
Yahweh does not abandon [us his people] forever.
32 por, në rast se të hidhëron, do ti vijë keq sipas shumicës së zemërmirësive të tij,
Sometimes he causes us to suffer, but sometimes he is kind [to us] because he continually and faithfully loves [us].
33 sepse nuk e bën me kënaqësi poshtërimin dhe hidhërimin e bijve të njerëzve.
And he is not happy about causing human beings to suffer or to be sad.
34 Kur dikush shtyp nën këmbët e tij tërë robërit e dheut,
If people (mistreat all the prisoners/crush all the prisoners under their feet)
35 kur dikush shtrëmbëron të drejtën e një njeriu në prani të Më të Lartit,
or if they rebel against God by refusing to give to people the things that it is right for them [to receive],
36 kur dikujt i bëhet një padrejtësi në çështjen e tij, a nuk e shikon Zoti?
or if they cause judges to decide matters unjustly, (does Yahweh not see all those things?/Yahweh certainly sees all those things!) [RHQ]
37 Vallë kush thotë diçka që më pas realizohet, në rast se Zoti nuk e ka urdhëruar?
No one can [RHQ] command something to happen [and then cause it to happen] if Yahweh has not already decided that it should happen.
38 E keqja dhe e mira a nuk vijnë vallë nga goja e Më të Lartit?
God in heaven [MTY] is [RHQ] the one who causes disasters to happen, and he [also] causes good things to happen.
39 Pse vallë ankohet një njeri i gjallë, një njeri për ndëshkimin e mëkateve të tij?
[So] it is certainly not [RHQ] right for us, who are only humans, to complain when he punishes us for the sins that we have committed.
40 Le të shqyrtojmë rrugët tona, t’i hetojmë dhe të kthehemi tek Zoti.
Instead, we should (examine/think carefully about) our behavior; we should turn back to Yahweh.
41 Le të ngremë lart zemrat tona dhe duart tona në drejtim të Perëndisë të qiejve.
We should pray [IDM] sincerely and lift up our arms toward God in heaven, [and say, ]
42 Ne kemi kryer mëkate, kemi qënë rebelë dhe ti nuk na ke falur.
“We have sinned and rebelled [against you], and you have not forgiven [us].
43 Je mbështjellë në zëmërimin tënd dhe na ke ndjekur, na ke vrarë pa mëshirë.
You have surrounded us with your anger and pursued us; you have slaughtered [us] without pitying us.
44 Ti je mbështjellë në një re, në mënyrë që asnjë lutje të mos kalonte dot.
You have hidden yourself in a cloud, with the result that you do not hear [us] when we pray.
45 Na ke bërë plehra dhe mbeturina në mes të popujve.
You have caused [the people of other] nations to consider us to be only garbage [DOU].
46 Tërë armiqtë tanë kanë hapur gojën kundër nesh.
All our enemies have insulted us.
47 Na ka rënë mbi trup tmerri, laku, dëshpërimi i thellë dhe shkatërrimi.
We are constantly afraid [DOU], [because] we have experienced disasters and ruin [DOU].”
48 Rrëke uji rrjedhin nga sytë e mi për shkatërrimin e bijës së popullit tim.
I cry a lot because my people have been destroyed.
49 Syri im derdh lot pa pushim, pa ndërprerje,
My tears continually flow; they will not stop
50 deri sa Zoti të mos vështrojë nga qielli dhe të mos shikojë.
until Yahweh looks down from heaven and sees [us].
51 Syri im i sjell dhembje shpirtit tim për të gjitha bijat e qytetit tim.
I am very grieved because of [what has happened to] the women of my city.
52 Ata që më urrejnë pa shkak më kanë gjuajtur si të isha zog.
Those who are my enemies hunted for me like [SIM] [people hunt for] a bird [to kill it] [even though] there was no reason [for them to do that].
53 Kanë shkatërruar jetën time në gropë, më kanë hedhur gurë.
They threw me into a pit to kill me, and they threw stones on top of me.
54 Ujrat rrjedhin mbi kokën time, unë thoja: “Ka marrë fund për mua”.
The water [in the pit] rose above my head, and I said [to myself], “I am about to die/drown!”
55 Përmenda emrin tënd, o Zot, nga thellësia e gropës.
But from the bottom of the pit I cried out to you [MTY], “Yahweh, [help me]!”
56 Ti e dëgjove zërin tim; mos ia fshih veshin tënd psherëtimës sime, thirrjes time për ndihmë.
I pleaded with you, “Do not refuse to heed [MTY] me while I cry out to you!”
57 Kur të kam thirrur ti je afruar; ke thënë: “Mos ki frikë!”
Then you answered me and said, “Do not be afraid!”
58 O Zot ti ke mbrojtur çështjen e shpirtit tim, ti ke çliruar jetën time.
Yahweh, you defended me; you did not allow me to die.
59 O Zot, ti ke parë dëmin që kam pësuar, prandaj mbro çështjen time!
[Now], Yahweh, you have seen the evil things that my enemies have done to me, [so] decide my case [and show that I am right]!
60 Ti ke parë tërë frymën e tyre të hakmarrjes, intrigat e tyre kundër meje.
You know the evil things that they have planned to do to me.
61 Ti ke dëgjuar fyerjet e tyre, o Zot, tërë intrigat e tyre kundër meje,
Yahweh, you have heard them insult [me] and what they have planned to do to me.
62 fjalimet e tyre që ngrihen kundër meje, atë që mendojnë kundër meje tërë ditën.
Every day they whisper and mutter things about me, all day long.
63 Vër re kur ulen dhe kur ngrihen, unë jam kënga e tyre.
Look at them! Whether they are standing or sitting they make fun of me with the songs that they sing.
64 Shpërbleji, o Zot, sipas veprës së duarve të tyre.
Yahweh, cause them to suffer in return for their causing [me] to suffer!
65 Bëji zemërgur, mallkimi yt qoftë mbi ta.
Curse them [IDM] [for] their being very stubborn [IDM].
66 Ndiqi në zemërimin tënd dhe shkatërroi poshtë qiejve të Zotit.
Because you are angry with them, pursue them and get rid of them, [until none of them remain] on the earth.
