1 Abimeleku, bir i Jerubaalit, shkoi në Sikem te vëllezërit e nënes së tij dhe foli me ta dhe me gjithë familjen e atit të nënes së tij, duke thënë:
Forsothe Abymelech, the sone of Gerobaal, yede in to Sichem to the britheren of his modir; and he spak to hem, and to al the kynrede of `the hows of his modir, and seide,
2 “U thoni gjithë banorëve të Sikemit: “Ç’është më e mirë për ju, që të gjithë shtatëdhjetë bijtë e Jerubaalit të mbretërojnë mbi ju, apo të mbretërojë mbi ju vetëm një?”. Dhe mos harroni që unë rrjedh nga kocka dhe mishi juaj”.
Speke ye to alle the men of Sichem, What is betere to you, that seuenti men, alle the sones of Gerobaal, be lordis of you, whether that o man be lord to you? and also biholde, for Y am youre boon, and youre fleisch.
3 Vëllezërit e nënes së tij i përhapën këto fjalë të tij tërë banorëve të Sikemit; dhe zemra e tyre anoi në dobi të Abimelekut, sepse thanë: “Éshtë vëllai ynë”.
And the britheren of his modir spaken of hym alle these wordis to alle the men of Sichem; and bowiden her hertis aftir Abymelech, and seiden, He is oure brother.
4 Kështu i dhanë shtatëdhjetë sikla argjendi, që i tërhoqën nga tempulli i Baal-Berithit, me të cilat Abimeleku rekrutoi njerëz pa kurrfarë vlere, por trima; dhe ata i shkuan pas.
And thei yauen to hym seuenti weiytis of siluer of the temple of Baal Berith; and he hiride to hym therof men pore and hauynge no certeyn dwellynge, and thei sueden hym.
5 Pastaj ai shkoi në shtëpinë e atit të tij në Ofrah dhe vrau mbi po atë gur vëllezërit e tij, të shtatëdhjetë bijtë e Jerubaalit. Por Jothami biri më i vogël i Jerubaalit, shpëtoi sepse ishte fshehur.
And he cam in to `the hows of his fadir in Ephra, and killide hise britheren the sones of Gerobaal, `seuenti men, on o stoon. And Joathan, the leste sone of Gerobaal, lefte, and was hid.
6 Atëherë tërë banorët e Sikemit dhe tërë shtëpia e Milos u mblodhën dhe shkuan ta shpallin mbret Abimelekun, pranë lisit të monumentit që gjendet në Sikem.
Forsothe alle the men of Sichem, and alle the meynees of the citee of Mello, weren gadirid to gydere, and thei yeden, and maden Abymelech kyng, bysidis the ook that stood in Sichem.
7 Kur Jothami u informua për këtë gjë, shkoi dhe zuri në majën e malit Gerezim dhe, duke ngritur zërin, thirri: “Dëgjomëni, banorë të Sikemit, dhe Perëndia të mund t’ju dëgjojë!
And whanne this thing was teld to Joathan, he yede, and stood in the cop of the hil Garisym, and cried with `vois reisid, and seide, Ye men of Sichem, here me, so that God here you.
8 Një ditë drurët u nisën për të vajosur një mbret që të mbretëronte mbi ta; dhe i thanë ullirit: “Mbretëro mbi ne”.
Trees yeden to anoynte a kyng on hem; and tho seiden to the olyue tre, Comaunde thou to vs.
9 Por ulliri u përgjegj me këto fjalë: “A duhet të heq dorë nga vaji im metë cilin Perëndia dhe njerëzit nderohen, dhe të shkoj të shqetësohem për drurët?”.
Whiche answeride, Whether Y may forsake my fatnesse, which bothe Goddis and men vsen, and come, that Y be auaunsid among trees?
10 Atëherë drurët i thanë fikut: “Eja ti të mbretërosh mbi ne”.
And the trees seiden to the fige tree, Come thou, and take the rewme on vs.
11 Por fiku iu përgjegj atyre: “A duhet të heq dorë nga ëmbëlsia ime dhe nga fruti im shumë i shijshëm dhe të shkoj të shqetësohem për drurët?”.
Which answeride to hem, Whether Y may forsake my swetnesse and swetteste fruytis, and go that Y be auaunsid among othere trees?
12 Atëherë drurët iu drejtuan hardhisë: “Eja ti të mbretërosh mbi ne”.
Also `the trees spaken to the vyne, Come thou, and comaunde to vs.
13 Por hardhia u përgjegj kështu: “A duhet të heq dorë nga vera ime e ëmbël që gëzon Perëndinë dhe njerëzit, dhe të shkoj të shqetësohem për drurët?”.
Which answeride, Whether Y may forsake my wyn, that gladith God and men, and be auaunsid among othere trees?
14 Atëherë tërë drurët i thanë ferrës: “Eja ti të mbretërosh mbi ne”.
And alle trees seiden to the ramne, ether theue thorn, Come thou, and be lord on vs.
15 Ferra iu përgjegj me këto fjalë drurëve: “Në rast se doni me të vërtetë të më vajosni si mbret për të sunduar mbi ju, ejani të strehoheni nën hijen time; përndryshe daltë një zjarr nga ferra dhe përpiftë kedrat e Libanit!”.
Whiche answeride to hem, If ye maken me verili kyng to you, come ye, and reste vndur my schadewe; sotheli, if ye nylen, fier go out of the ramne, and deuoure the cedris of the Liban.
16 Por ju nuk u suallët me besnikëri dhe me ndershmëri duke e shpallur mbret Abimelekun, nuk mbajtët një qëndrim të mirë ndaj Jerubaalit dhe shtëpisë së tij dhe nuk e keni trajtuar siç e meritonte,
Now therfor if riytfuli and without synne `ye han maad Abymelech kyng on you, and ye han do wel with Jerobaal, and with his hows, and ye han yolde while to the benefices of hym,
17 sepse im atë ka luftuar për ju, ka rrezikuar jetën e vet dhe ju ka çliruar nga sundimi i Madianit.
that fauyt for you, and yaf his lijf to perelis, that he schulde delyuere you fro the hond of Madian;
18 Kurse sot ju keni ngritur krye kundër shtëpisë së atit tim, keni vrarë të shtatëdhjetë bijtë e tij mbi po atë gur dhe keni shpallur mbret të Sikemitëve Abimelekun, birin e shërbëtores, sepse është vëllai juaj.
and ye han rise now ayens the hows of my fadir, and han slayn hyse sones, seuenti men, on o stoon, and `han maad Abymelech, sone of his handmayde, kyng on the dwelleris of Sichem, for he is youre brother;
19 Në rast se sot keni vepruar me besnikëri dhe ndershmëri ndaj Jerubaalit dhe shtëpisë së tij, atëherë e gëzofshi Abimelekun dhe ai u gëzoftë me ju!
therfor if ye han do riytfuli, and with out synne with Gerobaal and his hows, to dai be ye glad in Abymelech, and be he glad in you; but if ye han do weiwardli,
20 Por në rast se punët nuk janë kështu, le të dalë nga Abimeleku një zjarr që të gllabërojë banorët e Sikemit dhe shtëpinë e Milos, dhe le të dalë nga banorët e Sikemit dhe nga shtëpitë e Milos një zjarr që të gllabërojë Abimelekun”.
fier go out `of hym, and waste the dwelleris of Sichem, and the citee of Mello; and fier go out of the men of Sichem, and of the citee of Mello, and deuoure Abymelech.
21 Pastaj Jothemi iku, ia mbathi dhe shkoi të banojë në Beer nga frika e vëllait të tij Abimelek.
And whanne he hadde seide these thingis, he fledde, and yede in to Berara, and dwellide there, for drede of Abymelech, his brother.
22 Abimeleku sundoi tre vjet mbi Izraelin.
And Abymelech regnede on Israel thre yeer.
23 Pastaj Perëndia dërgoi një frymë të keq midis Abimelekut dhe banorëve të Sikemit, dhe banorët e Sikemit e tradhtuan Abimelekun,
And the Lord sente the worste spirit bitwixe Abymelech and the dwelleris of Sichem, whiche bigynnen to holde hym abomynable,
24 me qëllim që dhuna e ushtruar kundër të shtatëdhjetë bijve të Jerubaalit të zgjidhej dhe gjaku i tyre të binte mbi vëllanë e tyre Abimelek, që i kishte vrarë dhe mbi banorët e Sikemit, që e kishin ndihmuar të vriste vëllezërit e tij.
and to arette the felony of sleyng of seuenti sones of Gerobaal, and the schedyng out of her blood, in to Abymelech her brother, and to othere princes of Sichem, that hadden helpid hym.
25 Banorët e Sikemit vunë njerëz në pritë kundër tij në majën e maleve, dhe këta plaçkitën tërë ata që kalonin në rrugë afër tyre. Abimeleku u informua për këtë.
And thei settiden buyschementis ayens hym in the hiynesse of hillis; and the while thei abideden `the comyng of hym, thei hauntiden theftis, and token preies of men passynge forth; and it was teld to Abymelech.
26 Pastaj Gaali, bir i Ebedit, dhe vëllezërit e tij erdhën dhe u transferuan në Sikem, dhe banorët e Sikemit krijuan besim tek ai.
Forsothe Gaal, `the sone of Obed, cam with his britheren, and passide in to Siccima; at whos entryng the dwelleris of Sichem weren reisid, and yeden out `in to feeldis,
27 Ata dolën në ara, mblodhën rrushin në vreshtat e tyre, e shtypën dhe bënë festë. Pastaj hynë në shtëpinë e zotit të tyre, hëngrën, pinë dhe mallkuan Abimelekun.
and wastiden vyneris, and `to-traden grapis; and with cumpeneys of syngeris maad thei entriden in to `the temple of her God, and among metis and drynkis thei cursiden Abymalech, while Gaal,
28 Gaali, bir i Ebedit, tha: “Kush është Abimeleku dhe çfarë përfaqëson Sikemi, pse duhet t’i shërbejmë? A nuk është vallë bir i Jerubaalit, dhe a nuk është Zebuli mëkëmbësi i tij? Më mirë u shërbeni njerëzve të Hamorit atit të Sikemit! Po pse u dashka që ne t’i shërbejmë këtij njeriu?
the sone of Obed, criede, Who is this Abymelech? And what is Sichem, that we serue hym? Whether he is not the sone of Jerobaal, and made Zebul his seruaunt prince on the men of Emor, fadir of Sichem? Whi therfor schulen we serue hym?
29 Po ta kisha këtë popull nën urdhrat e mia, unë do ta kisha dëbuar Abimelekun!”. Pastaj i tha Abimelekut: “Forcoje ushtrinë tënde dhe më dil përpara!”.
`Y wolde, that sum man yaf this puple vndur myn hond, that Y schulde take awei Abimelech fro the myddis. And it was seid to Abymelech, Gadere thou the multitude of oost, and come thou.
30 Kur Zebuli, qeveritar i qytetit, dëgjoi këto fjalë të Gaalit, birit të Ebedit, u zemërua shumë,
For whanne the wordis of Gaal, sone of Obed, weren herd, Zebul, the prynce of the citee, was ful wrooth;
31 dhe i dërgoi fshehurazi lajmëtarë Abimelekut për t’i thënë: “Ja, Gaali, bir i Ebedit, dhe vëllezërit e tij kanë ardhur në Sikem; ata po e ngrenë qytetin kundër teje.
and he sente priueli messangeris to Abymelech, and seide, Lo! Gaal, sone of Obed, cam in to Siccymam, with hise britheren, and he excitith the citee to fiyte ayens thee;
32 Prandaj çohu natën, ti dhe njerëzit e tu, dhe zëru pritë në fushë;
therfor rise thou bi niyt with the puple, which is with thee, and be thou hid in the feeld;
33 dhe nesër në mëngjes, sa të lindë dielli do të ngrihesh dhe do t’i sulesh qytetit. Kur pastaj Gaali me gjithë njerëzit që janë me të do të dalë kundër teje, ti do t’i bësh atë që beson se është më e përshtatshme”.
and first in the morewtid, whanne the sunne rysith, falle on the citee; forsothe whanne he goth out with his puple ayens thee, do thou to hym that that thou maist.
34 Abimeleku dhe tërë njerëzit që ishin me të u ngritën natën dhe zunë një pritë kundër Sikemit, të ndarë në katër grupe.
Therfor Abymelech roos with al his oost bi nyyt, and settide buyschementis bisidis Siccimam, in foure placis.
35 Kur Gaali, bir i Ebedit, doli dhe u ndal në hyrjen e portës së qytetit, Abimeleku doli nga prita me gjithë njerëzit që ishin me të.
And Gaal, the sone of Obed, yede out, and stood in the entryng of `the yate of the citee. Forsothe Abymelech and al the oost with hym roos fro the place of buyschementis.
36 Duke i parë ata njerëz, Gaali i tha Zebulit: “Ja, disa njerëz që zbresin nga maja e maleve”. Por Zebuli iu përgjegj: “Hijet e maleve të duken ty si njerëz”.
And whanne Gaal hadde seyn the puple, he seide to Zebul, Lo! a multitude cometh doun fro the hillis. To whom he answeride, Thou seest the schadewis of hillis as the `heedis of men, and thou art disseyued bi this errour.
37 Gaali nisi përsëri të flasë, duke thënë: “Shiko, ka njerëz që zbresin nga majat e lartësive të vendit, dhe një grup tjetër po vjen nga rruga e lisit të shortarëve”.
And eft Gaal seide, Lo! a puple cometh doun fro the myddis of erthe, `that is, fro the hiynesse of hillis, and o cumpeny cometh bi the weie that biholdith the ook.
38 Atëherë Zebuli i tha: “Ku e ke kapadaillëkun, kur thoje: “Kush është Abimeleku, pse duhet t’i shërbejmë?”. A nuk është ky popull që ti përçmoje? Dil, pra, përpara dhe lufto kundër tij!”.
To whom Zebul seide, Where is now thi mouth, bi which thou spekist, Who is Abymelech, that we serue hym? Whether this is not the puple, whom thou dispisidist? Go thou out, and fiyte ayens hym.
39 Atëherë Gaali doli në krye të banorëve të Sikemit dhe i nisi betejën kundër Abimelekut.
Therfor Gaal yede, while the puple of Sichen abood; and he fauyt ayens Abymelech.
40 Por Abimeleku e ndoqi dhe ai iku me vrap para tij; shumë njerëz ranë për tokë të plagosur për vdekje deri në hyrje të portës.
Which pursuede Gaal fleynge, and constreynede to go in to the citee; and ful many of his part felde doun `til to the yate of the citee.
41 Abimeleku u ndal pastaj në Arumah, dhe Zebuli dëboi Gaalin dhe vëllezërit e tij, që nuk qëndruan dot më në Sikem.
And Abymelech sat in Ranna; sotheli Zebul puttide Gaal and hise felowis out of the citee, and suffride not to dwelle ther ynne.
42 Të nesërmen populli i Sikemit doli nëpër fusha; Abimeleku u informua për këtë.
Therfor in the dai suynge the puple yede out in to the feeld; and whanne this thing was teld to Abymelech,
43 Atëherë ai mori njerëzit e tij, i ndau në tre grupe dhe zuri pritë në fusha; kur pa që populli po dilte nga qyteti, ai u hodh kundër tij dhe bëri kërdinë.
he took his oost, and departide `in to thre cumpenyes, and settide buyschementis in the feeldis; and he siy that the puple yede out of the citee, and he roos,
44 Pastaj Abimeleku dhe njerëzit që ishin me të u sulën përpara dhe zunë hyrjen e portës së qytetit, kurse dy grupet e tjera u sulën mbi tërë ata që ishin nëpër fusha dhe bënë kërdinë.
and felde on hem with his cumpeny, and enpugnyde and bisegide the citee. Sothely twei cumpenyes yeden aboute opynli bi the feeld, and pursueden aduersaries.
45 Abimeleku e pushtoi me sulm po atë ditë qytetin dhe vrau popullin që gjendej në të; pastaj e sheshoi qytetin dhe aty hodhi kripë.
Certis Abymelech fauyt ayens the citee in al that dai, which he took, whanne the dwelleris weren slayn, and that citee was destried, so that he spreynte abrood salt ther ynne.
46 Kur të gjithë banorët e kalasë së Sikemit dëgjuan këtë ngjarje, u tërhoqën në kullën kryesore të tempullit të perëndisë Berith.
And whanne thei, that dwelliden in the tour of Sichem, hadde herd this, thei entriden in to the temple of her god Berith, where thei hadden maad boond of pees with hym; and of that the place took name, which place was ful strong.
47 Kështu i thanë Abimelekut që tërë banorët e kalasë së Sikemit ishin mbledhur bashkë.
And Abymelech herde the men of the tour of Sichem gaderid to gidere,
48 Atëherë Abimeleku u ngjit në malin Tsalmon, ai vetë bashkë me njerëzit e tij; pastaj Abimeleku kapi një sëpatë, preu degën e një druri, e ngriti dhe e vuri mbi shpatullat e tij; padstaj u tha njerëzve që ishin me të: “Atë që patë që unë bëra, bëjeni shpejt edhe ju!”.
and he stiede in to the hil Selmon with al his puple; and with an axe takun he kittide doun a boow of a tre, and he bar it, put on the schuldur, and seide to felowis, Do ye this thing, which ye seen me do.
49 Kështu secili prej tyre preu një degë dhe shkoi pas Abimeleku; i vendosën degët përballë kullës kryesore dhe e dogjën atë. Kështu gjetën vdekjen gjithë njerëzit e kalasë së Sikemit, pothuajse një mijë veta, gra e burra.
Therfor with strijf thei kittiden doun bowis of the trees, and sueden the duyk; whiche cumpassiden and brenten `the tour; and so it was doon, that with smooke and fier a thousynde of men weren slayn, men togidere and wymmen, of the dwelleris of the tour of Sichem.
50 Pastaj Abimeleku shkoi në Thebets, e rrethoi dhe e pushtoi.
Forsothe Abymelech wente forth fro thennus, and cam to the citee of Thebes, which he cumpasside, and bisegide with an oost.
51 Në mes të qytetit kishte një kullë të fortifikuar, ku ishin strehuar tërë njerëzit e qytetit, gra e burra; u mbyllën brenda dhe hipën mbi çatinë e kullës.
Forsothe the tour was hiy in the myddis of the citee, to which men togidere and wymmen fledden, and alle the princes of the citee, while the yate was closid stronglieste; and thei stoden on the roof of the tour bi toretis.
52 Kështu Abimeleku arriti në këmbët e kalasë dhe e sulmoi; iu afrua pastaj portës së kalasë për t’i vënë flakën.
And Abymelech cam bisidis the tour, and fauyt strongli, and he neiyede to the dore, and enforside to putte fier vndur; and lo!
53 Por një grua hodhi poshtë pjesën e sipërme të një mokre mbi kokën e Abimelekut dhe i theu kafkën.
o womman castide fro aboue a gobet of a mylnestoon, and hurtlide to `the heed of Abymelech, and brak his brayn.
54 Ai thirri menjëherë të riun që i mbante armët dhe i tha: “Nxirre shpatën dhe më vrit, që të mos thonë: “E vrau një grua!””. Kështu i riu e shpoi tejembanë dhe ai vdiq.
And he clepide soone his squyer, and seide to hym, Drawe out thi swerd, and sle me, lest perauenture it be seid, that Y am slan of a womman. Which performede `the comaundementis, and `killide Abymelech;
55 Kur Izraelitët panë që Abimeleku kishte vdekur, secili u kthye në shtëpinë e tij.
and whanne he was deed, alle men of Israel that weren with hym turneden ayen to her seetis.
56 Kështu Perëndia ia shkarkoi Abimelekut të keqen që kishte bërë kundër atit të tij, duke vrarë shtatëdhjetë vëllezërit e tij.
And God yeldide to Abymelech the yuel that he dide ayens his fadir, for he killide hise seuenti britheren.
57 Perëndia bëri që të binte mbi kokën e njerëzve të Sikemit tërë e keqja e bërë; kështu kundër tyre u realizua mallkimi i Jothamit, birit të Jerubaalit.
Also that thing was yoldun to men of Sichem, which thei wrouyten, and the curs of Joathan, sone of Jerobaal, cam on hem.
