Jakobit 1
1 Jakobi, shërbëtor i Perëndisë dhe i Zotit Jezu Krisht, të dymbëdhjetë fiseve të shpërndarë nëpër botë: përshëndetje!
James, a Servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, greets the Twelve Tribes that are living abroad.
2 Ta konsideroni një gëzim të madh, o vëllezër të mi, kur ndodheni përballë sprovash nga më të ndryshmet,
My Brothers, whatever may be the temptations that beset you from time to time, always regard them as a reason for rejoicing,
3 duke e ditur se sprova e besimit tuaj sjell qëndrueshmëri.
knowing, as you do, that the testing of your faith develops endurance.
4 Dhe qëndrueshmëria të kryejë në ju një vepër të përsosur, që ju të jeni të përsosur dhe të plotë, pa asnjë të metë.
And let endurance do its work perfectly, so that you may be altogether perfect, and in no respect deficient.
5 Por në qoftë se ndonjërit nga ju i mungon urtia, le të kërkojë nga Perëndia, që u jep të gjithëve pa kursim, pa qortuar, dhe atij do t’i jepet.
If one of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask wisdom from the God who gives freely to every one without reproaches, and it will be given to him.
6 Por le ta kërkojë me besim, pa dyshuar, sepse ai që dyshon i ngjan valës së detit, të cilën e ngre dhe e përplas era.
But let him ask with confidence, never doubting; for the man who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven hither and thither at the mercy of the wind —
7 Dhe ky njeri të mos pandehë se do të marrë diçka nga Zoti,
Such a man must not expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,
8 sepse është një njeri me dy mendje, i paqëndrueshëm në gjithë rrugët e veta.
vacillating as he is, irresolute at every turn.
9 Dhe vëllai më i poshtmë le të madhështohet në lartësimin e tij,
Let a Brother in humble circumstances be proud of his exalted position, but a rich Brother of his humiliation;
10 dhe i pasuri në uljen e tij, sepse do të shkojë si lule bari.
for the rich man will pass away ‘like the flower of the grass.’
11 Në fakt si lindi dielli me të nxehtit e tij dhe e thau barin, dhe lulja e tij ra dhe bukuria e pamjes së vet humbi: kështu do të fishket edhe i pasuri në udhët e tij.
As the sun rises, and the hot wind blows, ‘the grass withers, its flower fades,’ and all its beauty is gone. So is it with the rich man. In the midst of his pursuits he will come to an untimely end.
12 Lum njeriu që ngulmon në provë, sepse kur del i aprovuar, do të marrë kurorën e jetës, të cilën Zoti ua premtoi atyre që e duan.
Blessed is the man who remains firm under temptation, for, when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of Life, which the Lord has promised to those who love him.
13 Askush kur tundohet të mos thotë: “Jam tunduar nga Perëndinë”, sepse Perëndia nuk mund të tundohet nga e keqja, dhe ai vet nuk tundon asnjeri.
Let no one say, when he is tempted, “It is God who is tempting me!” For God, who cannot be tempted to do wrong, does not himself tempt any one.
14 Por secili tundohet i udhëhequr dhe i mashtruar nga lakminë e vet.
A man is in every case tempted by his own passions — allured and enticed by them.
15 Pastaj lakmia, pasi mbarset, pjell mëkatin dhe mëkati, si të kryhet, ngjiz vdekjen.
Then Passion conceives and gives birth to Sin, and Sin, on reaching maturity, brings forth Death.
16 Mos u mashtroni, vëllezërit e mi shumë të dashur;
Do not be deceived, my dear Brothers.
17 çdo gjë e mirë që na jepet dhe çdo dhuratë e përsosur vjen prej së larti dhe zbret nga Ati i dritave, pranë së cilit nuk ka ndërrim dhe as hije ndryshimi.
Every good thing given us, and every perfect gift, is from above, and comes down to us from the Maker of the Lights in the heavens, who is himself never subject to change or to eclipse.
18 Ai na ngjizi me vullnetin e tij me anë të fjalës të së vërtetës, që ne të jemi në një farë menyrë fryti i parë i krijesave të tij.
Because he so willed, he gave us Life, through the Message of the Truth, so that we should be, as it were, an earnest of still further creations.
19 Prandaj, vëllezërit e mi shumë të dashur, çdo njeri të jetë i shpejtë në të dëgjuar, i ngadalshëm në të folur dhe i ngadalshëm në zemërim,
Mark this, my dear Brothers — Let every one be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry;
20 sepse zemërimi i njeriut nuk kryen drejtësinë e Perëndisë.
for the anger of man does not forward the righteous purpose of God.
21 Prandaj, hiqni çdo ndyrësi dhe mbeturinë ligësie, pranoni me butësi fjalën e mbjellë në ju, e cila mund të shpëtojë shpirtrat tuaj.
Therefore, have done with all filthiness and whatever wickedness still remains, and in a humble spirit receive that Message which has been planted in your hearts and is able to save your souls.
22 Dhe bëhuni bërës të fjalës dhe jo vetëm dëgjues, që gënjejnë vetveten.
Put that Message into practice, and do not merely listen to it — deceiving yourselves.
23 Sepse nëse dikush është dëgjues i fjalës dhe jo bërës, ai i përngjan një njeriu që e shikon fytyrën e tij natyrale në një pasqyrë;
For, when any one listens to it and does not practice it, he is like a man looking at his own face in a mirror.
24 ai e shikon veten dhe pastaj ikën, duke harruar menjëherë si ishte.
He looks at himself, then goes on his way,
25 Ndërsa ai që do të shikojë me vemendje ligjin e përsosur, i cili është ligji i lirisë, dhe ngulmon në të, duke mos qenë një dëgjues harraq, por një bërës i veprës, ai do të jetë i lumtur në veprimtarinë e vet.
but he who looks carefully into the perfect Law, the Law of Freedom, and continues to do so, not listening to it and then forgetting it, but putting it into practice — that man will be blessed in what he does.
26 Në qoftë se ndokush nga ju mendon se është fetar, edhe nuk i vë fre gjuhës së vet, sigurisht ai e mashtron zemrën e vet, feja e këtij është e kotë.
When a man appears to be religious, yet does not bridle his tongue, but imposes upon his own conscience, that man’s religious observances are valueless.
27 Feja e pastër dhe pa njollë përpara Perëndisë dhe Atit është kjo: të vizitosh jetimët dhe të vejat në pikëllimet e tyre dhe ta ruash veten të pastër nga bota.
That religious observance which is pure and spotless in the eyes of God our Father is this — to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself uncontaminated by the world.
