Isaia 18

1 Mjerë ai vend me krahë të zhurmshëm që ndodhet matanë lumenjve të Etiopisë,

Oh, the lande shadowing with winges, which is beyond the riuers of Ethiopia,

2 që dërgon lajmëtarë me anë të detit në anijeza prej papirusi mbi ujërat, duke thënë: “Shkoni, o lajmëtarë të shpejtë, në drejtim të një kombi shtatlartë dhe lëkurëndritur, në drejtim të një populli të cilin e kanë frikë që nga fillimi i tij e më pas, komb i fuqishëm që shkel çdo gjë, vendi i të cilit ndahet nga lumenjtë”.

Sending ambassadours by the Sea, euen in vessels of reedes vpon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation that is scattered abroade, and spoyled, vnto a terrible people from their beginning euen hitherto: a nation by litle and litle, euen troden vnder foote, whose land the floods haue spoyled.

3 Ju të gjithë, banorë të botës dhe ata që banojnë mbi tokë shikoni flamurin kur ky do të ngrihet mbi malet dhe dëgjoni borinë kur ajo do të bjerë!

Al ye the inhabitants of ye world and dwellers in the earth, shall see when he setteth vp a signe in the mountaines, and when he bloweth the trumpet, ye shall heare.

4 Sepse kështu më ka thënë Zoti: “Do të rri i qetë dhe do të shikoj nga banesa ime si një nxehtësi e kthjellet dhe e ndritshme në dritën e diellit, si një re vesë në vapën e korrjes”.

For so the Lord saide vnto me, I will rest and beholde in my tabernacle, as the heate drying vp the rayne, and as a cloude of dewe in the heate of haruest.

5 Sepse para korrjes, kur lulëzimi ka marrë fund dhe lulja është bërë një vile në fazën e pjekurisë, ai do t’i presë degëzat me kmesë dhe do të shkulë e do t’i presë shermendët.

For afore the haruest when the floure is finished, and the fruite is riping in the floure, then he shall cut downe the branches with hookes, and shall take away, and cut off the boughes:

6 Ata të gjithë tok do të mbeten të braktisur shpendëve grabitqarë të maleve dhe kafshëve të tokës; zogjtë grabitqarë do të kalojnë mbi ta gjatë verës dhe kafshët e tokës do të kalojnë mbi ta gjatë dimrit.

They shall be left together vnto the foules of the mountaines, and to the beastes of the earth: for the foule shall sommer vpon it, and euery beast of the earth shall winter vpon it.

7 Në këtë kohë do t’i sjellë oferta Zotit të ushtrive një komb shtatlartë dhe lëkurëndritur, një popull që e kanë frikë që nga fillimet e tij e më pas, një komb i fuqishëm që shkel çdo gjë, vendi i të cilit përshkohet nga lumenj; do të çohen në vendin ku ndodhet emri i Zotit të ushtrive, në malin Sion.

At that time shall a present be brought vnto the Lord of hostes, (a people that is scattered abroade, and spoyled, and of a terrible people from their beginning hitherto, a nation, by litle and litle euen troden vnder foote, whose land the riuers haue spoyled) to the place of the Name of the Lord of hostes, euen the mount Zion.
