Galatasve 5
1 Qëndroni, pra, të patundur në lirinë, me të cilën Krishti na liroi, dhe mos hyni përsëri nën zgjedhën e skllavërisë.
Christ having made us gloriously free--stand fast and do not again be hampered with the yoke of slavery.
2 Ja, unë, Pali, po ju them se, në qoftë se rrethpriteni, Krishti nuk do t’ju bëjë dobi aspak.
Remember that it is I Paul who tell you that if you receive circumcision Christ will avail you nothing.
3 Edhe i dëshmoj përsëri çdo njeriu që rrethpritet, se ai është i detyruar të zbatojë mbarë ligjin.
I once more protest to every man who receives circumcision that he is under obligation to obey the whole Law of Moses.
4 Ju që kërkoni të shfajësoheni me anë të ligjit, jeni ndarë nga Krishti; ratë poshtë nga hiri.
Christ has become nothing to any of you who are seeking acceptance with God through the Law: you have fallen away from grace.
5 Ne në fakt në Frymë, nëpërmjet besimit presim shpresën e drejtësisë,
We have not, for through the Spirit we wait with longing hope for an acceptance with God which is to come through faith.
6 sepse në Jezu Krishtin, as rrethprerja, as parrethprerja s’kanë ndonjë vlerë, por besimi që vepron me anë dashurie.
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision is of any importance; but only faith working through love.
7 Ju vraponit bukur; kush ju ka penguar që të mos i bindeni së vërtetës?
You were running the race nobly! Who has interfered and caused you to swerve from the truth?
8 Kjo bindje nuk vjen nga ai që ju thërret.
No such teaching ever proceeded from Him who is calling you.
9 Pak maja e bën të vijë gjithë brumin.
A little yeast corrupts the whole of the dough.
10 Kam besim te Perëndia për ju, se nuk do të mendoni ndryshe; por ai që ju turbullon juve, kushdo qoftë, do të marrë dënimin.
For my part I have strong confidence in you in the Lord that you will adopt my view of the matter. But the man--be he who he may--who is troubling you, will have to bear the full weight of the judgement to be pronounced on him.
11 Sa për mua, o vëllezër, në qoftë se unë vazhdoj të predikoj rrethprerjen, përse më përndjekin akoma? Atëherë skandali i kryqit ra poshtë.
As for me, brethren, if I am still a preacher of circumcision, how is it that I am still suffering persecution? In that case the Cross has ceased to be a stumbling-block!
12 Oh, sikur ata që ju turbullojnë, të gjymtoheshin vetë!
Would to God that those who are unsettling your faith would even mutilate themselves.
13 Sepse ju, o vëllezër, u thirrët në liri; por mos e përdorni këtë liri si një rast për mishin, por, me dashuri t’i shërbeni njëri-tjetrit.
You however, brethren, were called to freedom. Only do not turn your freedom into an excuse for giving way to your lower natures; but become bondservants to one another in a spirit of love.
14 Sepse gjithë ligji përmblidhet në këtë fjalë, të vetme: “Duaje të afërmin tënd porsi vetveten!”.
For the entire Law has been obeyed when you have kept the single precept, which says, "You are to love your fellow man equally with yourself."
15 Sepse nëse ju kafshoni dhe hani njëri-tjetrin, ruhuni mos prisheni njëri nga tjetri.
But if you are perpetually snarling and snapping at one another, beware lest you are destroyed by one another.
16 Dhe unë them: Ecni sipas Frymës dhe nuk do ta përmbushni dëshirat e mishit,
This then is what I mean. Let your lives be guided by the Spirit, and then you will certainly not indulge the cravings of your lower natures.
17 sepse mishi ka dëshira kundër Frymës, dhe Fryma ka dëshira kundër mishit; dhe këto janë të kundërta me njëra-tjetrën, që ju të mos bëni ato që dëshironi.
For the cravings of the lower nature are opposed to those of the Spirit, and the cravings of the Spirit are opposed to those of the lower nature; because these are antagonistic to each other, so that you cannot do everything to which you are inclined.
18 Por në qoftë se udhëhiqeni nga Fryma, ju nuk jeni nën ligj.
But if the Spirit is leading you, you are not subject to Law.
19 Dhe veprat e mishit janë të zbuluar dhe janë: kurorëshkelja, kurvëria, ndyrësia, shthurja,
Now you know full well the doings of our lower natures. Fornication, impurity, indecency, idol-worship, sorcery;
20 idhujtaria, magjia, armiqësimi, grindjet, xhelozitë, mëritë, zënkat, përçarjet, tarafet,
enmity, strife, jealousy, outbursts of passion, intrigues, dissensions, factions, envyings;
21 smira, vrasjet, të dehurit, grykësia dhe gjëra të ngjashme me këto, për të cilat po ju paralajmëroj, si kurse ju thashë edhe më parë, se ata që i bëjnë këto gjëra nuk do të trashëgojnë mbretërinë e Perëndisë.
hard drinking, riotous feasting, and the like. And as to these I forewarn you, as I have already forewarned you, that those who are guilty of such things will have no share in the Kingdom of God.
22 Por fryti i Frymës është: dashuria, gëzimi, paqja, durimi, mirëdashja, mirësia, besimi, zemërbutësia, vetëkontrolli.
The Spirit, on the other hand, brings a harvest of love, joy, peace; patience towards others, kindness, benevolence;
23 Kundër këtyre gjërave nuk ka ligj.
good faith, meekness, self-restraint.
24 Edhe ata që janë të Krishtit e kanë kryqëzuar mishin bashkë me pasionet dhe lakmitë të tij.
Against such things as these there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their lower nature with its passions and appetites.
25 Në qoftë se rrojmë në Frymë, në Frymë edhe duhet të ecim.
If we are living by the Spirit's power, let our conduct also be governed by the Spirit's power.
26 Le të mos jemi mburravecë, duke provokuar dhe duke pasur smirë njëri-tjetrin.
Let us not become vain-glorious, challenging one another, envying one another.
