Eksodi 18

1 Jethro, prift i Madianit, vjehrri i Moisiut, dëgjoi të gjitha ato që Perëndia kishte bërë për Moisiun dhe për Izraelin popullin e tij: si e kishte nxjerrë Zoti Izraelin nga Egjipti.

And whanne Jetro, the prest of Madian, `the alye of Moises, hadde herd alle thingis which God hadde do to Moises, and to Israel his puple, for the Lord hadde led Israel out of the lond of Egipt,

2 Atëherë Jethro, vjehrri i Moisiut, mori Seforan, gruan e Moisiut,

he took Sefora, `the wijf of Moises, whom he hadde sent ayen,

3 e cila i ishte kthyer, dhe dy bijtë e saj, prej të cilëve njëri quhej Gershom, (sepse Moisiu kishte thënë: “Kam qenë mik në tokë të huaj”)

and hise twei sones, of which oon was clepid Gersan, for the fadir seide, Y was a comelyng in alien lond,

4 dhe tjetri Eliezer (sepse ai kishte thënë: “Perëndia i atit tim ka qenë ndihmësi im dhe më ka shpëtuar nga shpata e Faraonit”).

forsothe the tother was clepid Eliezer, for Moises seide, God of my fadir is myn helpere, and he delyuerede me fro the swerd of Farao.

5 Jethro, pra, vjehrri i Moisiut, erdhi te Moisiu bashkë me bijtë e tij dhe bashkëshorten e tij, në shkretëtirë ku ishte vendosur ai, në malin e Perëndisë.

Therfor Jetro, `alie of Moises, cam, and the sones of Moises and his wijf camen to Moises, in to deseert, where Jetro settide tentis bisidis the hil of God;

6 I kishte çuar fjalë Moisiut: “Unë, Jethro, vjehrri yt, po vij te ti bashkë me gruan tënde dhe dy bijtë e saj”.

and sente to Moises, and seide, Y Jetro, thin alie, come to thee, and thi wijf, and thi twei sones with hir.

7 Kështu Moisiu doli për të takuar vjehrrin e tij, u përkul dhe e puthi; pyetën njëri tjetrin për shëndetin e tyre, pastaj hynë në çadër.

And Moises yede out into the comyng of his alie, and worschipide, and kiste hym, and thei gretten hem silf to gidere with pesible wordis.

8 Atëherë Moisiu i tregoi vjehrrit të tij të gjitha ato që Zoti u kishte bërë Faraonit dhe Egjiptasve për shkak të Izraelit, të gjitha fatkeqësitë e pësuara gjatë udhëtimit, dhe si i kishte shpëtuar Zoti.

And whanne he hadde entrid in to the tabernacle, Moises tolde to `his alie alle thingis whiche God hadde do to Farao, and to Egipcians, for Israel, and he tolde al the trauel which bifelle to hem in the weie, of which the Lord delyuerede hem.

9 Dhe Jethro u gëzua për të gjitha të mirat që Zoti i kishte bërë Izraelit, duke e shpëtuar nga dora e Egjiptasve.

And Jetro was glad on alle the goodis whiche the Lord hadde do to Israel, for he delyuerede Israel fro the hond of Egipcians.

10 Pastaj Jethro i tha: “Bekuar qoftë Zoti, që ju çliroi nga dora e Egjiptasve dhe nga dora e Faraonit, dhe çliroi popullin nga zgjedha e Egjiptasve!

And Jetro seide, Blessid be `the Lord, that delyuerede you fro the hond of Egipcians, and fro `the hond of Farao, which Lord delyuered his puple fro the hond of Egipt;

11 Tani e di që Zoti është më i madhi nga tërë perënditë; po, ai ua vërtetoi atyre me sa krenari, kur vepruan me kryelartësi kundër Izraelit”.

now Y knowe that the Lord is greet aboue alle goddis, for `thei diden proudli ayens hem.

12 Pastaj Jethro, vjehrri i Moisiut, mori një olokaust dhe disa fli për t’ia ofruar Perëndisë; dhe Aaroni dhe tërë pleqtë e Izraelit erdhën të hanë me vjehrrin e Moisiut përpara Perëndisë.

Therfor Jetro, `alie of Moises, offride brent sacrifices and offryngis to God; and Aaron, and alle the eldere men of Israel, camen to ete breed with hym bifore God.

13 Por ndodhi që, të nesërmen, Moisiu u ul për të gjykuar popullin; populli u mblodh rreth Moisiut që nga mëngjesi deri në mbrëmje.

Forsothe in the tother dai Moises sat that he schulde deme the puple, that stood niy Moises, fro the morewtid til to euentid.

14 Kur vjehrri i Moisiut pa të gjitha ato që ky bënte për popullin, tha: “Ç’është kjo që bën ti me popullin? Pse ulesh vetëm, dhe tërë populli të rri përqark nga mëngjesi deri në mbrëmje?”.

And whanne `his alie hadde seyn this, that is, alle thingis `whiche he dide in the puple, he seide, What is this that thou doist in the puple? whi sittist thou aloone, and al the puple abidith fro the morewtid til to euentid?

15 Moisiu iu përgjigj vjehrrit të tij: “Sepse populli vjen tek unë për t’u këshilluar me Perëndinë.

To whom Moises answeride, The puple cometh to me, and axith the sentence of God;

16 Kur ata kanë ndonjë problem, vinë tek unë, dhe unë gjykoj njërin dhe tjetrin dhe u bëj të njohur kanunet e Perëndisë dhe ligjet e tij”.

and whanne ony strijf bifallith to hem, thei comen to me, that Y deme bitwixe hem, and schewe `the comaundementis of God, and hise lawis.

17 Por vjehrri i Moisiut i tha: “Ajo që bën ti nuk shkon mirë.

And Jetro seide, Thou doist a thing not good,

18 Do të rraskapitesh më në fund, ti dhe ky popull që është me ty, sepse detyra që ke marrë përsipër është shumë e vështirë. Nuk mund t’ia dalësh në krye vetëm.

thou art wastid with a fonned trauel, bothe thou and this puple which is with thee; the werk is a boue thi strengthis, thou aloone maist not suffre it.

19 Tani dëgjomë; unë do të të jap një këshillë dhe Perëndia qoftë me ty: përfaqësoje ti popullin përpara Perëndisë dhe paraqitja Perëndisë problemet e tyre.

But here thou my wordis and counseils, and the Lord schal be with thee; be thou to the puple in these thingis that perteynen to God, that thou telle the thingis that ben seid to the puple;

20 Mësoju atyre statutet dhe ligjet dhe tregohu rrugën nëpër të cilën duhet të ecin dhe atë që duhet të bëjnë.

and schewe to the puple the cerymonyes, and custom of worschipyng, and the weie bi which `thei owen to go, and the werk which `thei owen to do.

21 Por zgjidh në mes të të gjithë popullit disa njerëz të aftë që kanë frikë nga Perëndia, njerëz të besuar, që e urrejnë fitimin e padrejtë dhe vendosi mbi popullin si krerë të mijërave, krerë të qindrave, krerë të pesëdhjetrave dhe krerë të dhjetrave.

Forsothe puruey thou of al the puple myyti men, and dredynge God, in whiche is treuthe, and whiche haten auarice; and ordeyne thou of hem tribunes, and centuriouns, and quinquagenaries, and deenys,

22 Dhe lejo që të jenë ata që do ta gjykojnë popullin në çdo kohë; ata do të të parashtrojnë çdo problem me rëndësi të madhe, ndërsa për probleme të vogla do të vendosin vetë. Kështu do të jetë më lehtë për ty, dhe ata do ta mbajnë peshën bashkë me ty.

whiche schulen deme the puple in al tyme; sotheli what ever thing is grettere, telle thei to thee, and deme thei ooneli lesse thingis, and be it esiere to thee, whanne the burthun is departid in to othere men.

23 Në qoftë se ti vepron kështu, dhe kështu të urdhëron Perëndia, mund të mbahesh; dhe tërë ky popull do të arrijë faqebardhë në vendin e caktuar për të”.

If thou schalt do this, thou schalt fille the comaundement of God, and thou schalt mowe bere hise comaundementis; and al this puple schal turne ayen with pees to her places.

24 Moisiu e dëgjoi zërin e vjehrrit të tij, dhe bëri gjithçka që i kishte thënë.

And whanne these thingis weren herd, Moises dide alle thingis whiche Jetro counselide.

25 Kështu Moisiu zgjodhi në tërë Izraelin disa njerëz të aftë dhe i vuri si krerë të popullit: krerë të mijërave, krerë të qindrave, krerë të pesëdhjetrave dhe krerë të dhjetrave.

And whanne noble men of al Israel weren chosun Moises ordeynede hem princis of the puple, tribunes, and centuriouns, and quinquagenaries, and denes,

26 Kështu ata e gjykonin popullin në çdo kohë; çështjet e vështira ia parashtronin Moisiut, por çdo problem të vogël e zgjidhnin vetë.

whiche demeden the puple in al tyme; forsothe, whateuer thing was hardere, thei telden to Moises, and thei demeden esiere thingis oneli.

27 Pastaj Moisiu u nda nga vjehrri i tij, i cili u kthye në vendin e vet.

And Moises lefte `his alie, which turnede ayen, and yede in to his lond.
