2 e Korintasve 10

1 Personalisht unë, Pali, po ju këshi-lloj me anë të zemërbutësisë dhe të mirësisë së Krishtit; unë, që kur ndodhem vetë midis jush jam i përunjur, ndërsa kur jam larg jush tregohem i guximshëm ndaj jush.

Now, I, Paul, make a personal appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of the Christ – I who, ‘in your presence, am humble in my bearing towards you, but, when absent, am bold in my language to you’ –

2 Ju lutem, që, kur të vij te ju, të mos jem i detyruar të veproj me guxim me atë siguri, me të cilin mendoj të guxoj kundër disave, që na konsiderojnë sikur ecim sipas mishit.

I implore you not to drive me to ‘show my boldness,’ when I do come, by the confident tone which I expect to have to adopt towards some of you, who are expecting to find us influenced in our conduct by earthly motives.

3 Sepse, edhe pse ecim në mish, nuk luftojmë sipas mishit,

For, though we live an earthly life, we do not wage an earthly war.

4 sepse armët e luftës sonë nuk janë prej mishi, por të fuqishme në Perëndinë për të shkatërruar fortesat,

The weapons for our warfare are not earthly, but, under God, are powerful enough to pull down strongholds.

5 që të hedhim poshtë mendimet dhe çdo lartësi që ngrihet kundër njohjes së Perëndisë dhe t’ia nënshtrojmë çdo mendim dëgjesës së Krishtit,

We are engaged in confuting arguments and pulling down every barrier raised against the knowledge of God. We are taking captive every hostile thought, to bring it into submission to the Christ,

6 dhe jemi gati të ndëshkojmë çdo mosbindje, kur të bëhet e përkryer bindja juaj.

and are fully prepared to punish every act of rebellion, when once your submission is complete.

7 A i shihni gjërat sipas pamjes së jashtme? Në qoftë se dikush është i bindur në veten e tij se është i Krishtit, le ta mendojë këtë përsëri nga vetja e tij: sikurse ai është i Krishtit, ashtu edhe ne jemi të Krishtit.

You look at the outward appearance of things! Let anyone, who is confident that he belongs to Christ, reflect, for himself, again on the fact – that we belong to Christ no less than he does.

8 Edhe, nëse unë do ta mburrja veten më tepër për autoritetin tonë, që Zoti na dha për ndërtimin tuaj dhe jo për shkatërrimin tuaj, nuk do të turpërohesha.

Even if I boast extravagantly about our authority – which the Lord gave us for building up your faith and not for overthrowing it – still I have no reason to be ashamed.

9 Nuk dua të dukem se po kërkoj t’ju tremb me letrat e mia.

I say this so that it doesn’t seem as if I am trying to overawe you by my letters.

10 Sepse dikush thotë: “Letrat e tij janë të ashpra dhe të fuqishme, kurse paraqitja e tij trupore është e dobët, dhe fjala e tij ka pak peshë”.

For people say ‘His letters are impressive and vigorous, but his personal appearance is insignificant and his speaking contemptible.’

11 Le ta dijë, pra, ai njeri, se ashtu si jemi në fjalë, me anë të letrave kur jemi larg, të tillë do të jemi edhe me vepra, kur të jemi të pranishëm.

Let such a person be assured of this – that our words in our letters show us to be, when absent, just what our deeds will show us to be, when present.

12 Sepse nuk guxojmë të renditemi ose të krahasohemi me ata që e rekomandojnë veten e vet; por ata, duke matur veten e tyre dhe duke u krahasuar me veten e tyre, nuk kanë mend.

We have not indeed the audacity to class or compare ourselves with some of those who indulge in self-commendation! But, when such persons measure themselves by themselves, and compare themselves with themselves, they show a want of wisdom.

13 Por ne nuk do të mburremi jashtë masës, po sipas masës së rregullës që caqet i caktoi Perëndia, sa të arrijmë deri te ju,

We, however, will not give way to unlimited boasting, but will confine ourselves to the limits of the sphere to which God limited us, when he permitted us to come as far as Corinth.

14 Sepse ne nuk po shtrihemi përtej caqeve, sikurse nuk arritëm deri te ju, sepse ne arritëm më të vërtetë deri te ju me anë të predikimit të ungjillit të Krishtit.

For it is not the case, as it would be if we were not in the habit of coming to you, that we are exceeding our bounds! Why, we were the very first to reach you with the good news of the Christ!

15 Dhe ne nuk mburremi përtej masës për punët e tjetrit, por kemi shpresë se, duke u rritur besimi juaj, ne do të kemi një konsideratë më të madhe ndër ju, sipas cakut tonë,

Our boasting, therefore, is not unlimited, nor does it extend to the labours of others; but our hope is that, as your faith grows, our influence among you may be very greatly increased – though still confined to our sphere –

16 sa që përhapim ungjillin edhe përtej vendeve tuaj, pa u mburrur me ato që janë bërë në këtë lëmë nga të tjerë.

So that we will be able to tell the good news in the districts beyond you, without trespassing on the sphere assigned to others, or boasting of what has been already done.

17 Ai që lëvdohet, le të lëvdohet në Zotin,

Let anyone who boasts make their boast of the Lord.

18 sepse nuk miratohet ai që e rekomandon veten e tij, po ai të cilin e rekomandon Zoti.

For it is not those who commend themselves that stand the test, but those who are commended by the Lord.
