1 Timoteut 4
1 Dhe Fryma e thotë shkoqur se në kohët e fundit disa do ta mohojnë besimin, duke u vënë veshin frymëve gënjeshtare dhe doktrinave të demonëve,
Now the Spirit expressly declares that in later times some will fall away from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and the teachings of demons;
2 që flasin gënjeshtra me hipokrizi, të damkosur në ndërgjegjen e tyre,
through the hypocrisy of men who teach falsely and have their own consciences seared as with a hot iron;
3 të cilët do të ndalojnë martesën dhe do të urdhërojnë të mos hani ushqimet që Perëndia i krijoi, të merren me falënderim nga ata që besojnë dhe e njohin të vërtetën.
forbidding people to marry, and insisting on abstinence from foods which God has created to be partaken of, with thankfulness, by those who believe and have a clear knowledge of the truth.
4 Sepse çdo krijesë e Perëndisë është e mirë dhe asgjë s’është për t’u hedhur, nëse merret me falënderim,
For everything that God has created is good, and nothing is to be cast aside, if only it is received with thanksgiving.
5 sepse është shenjtëruar nga fjala e Perëndisë dhe nga lutja.
For it is made holy by the word of God and by prayer.
6 Duke ua propozuar këto gjëra vëllezërve, ti do të jesh një shërbyes i mirë i Jezu Krishtit, i ushqyer me fjalët e besimit dhe të mësimit të mirë, që ke kuptuar plotësisht.
If you warn the brethren of these dangers you will be a good and faithful servant of Christ Jesus, inwardly feeding on the lessons of the faith and of the sound teaching of which you have been, and are, so close a follower.
7 Shmangu pra nga përrallat profane dhe të të vjetërve, edhe ushtrohu në perëndishmëri,
But worldly stories, fit only for credulous old women, have nothing to do with.
8 sepse ushtrimi i trupit është i dobishëm për pak gjë, kurse perëndishmëria është e dobishme për çdo gjë, sepse përmban premtimin e jetës së tashme dhe të asaj që do të vijë.
Train yourself in godliness. Exercise for the body is not useless, but godliness is useful in every respect, possessing, as it does, the promise of Life now and of the Life which is soon coming.
9 Kjo fjalë është e sigurt dhe e denjë për t’u pranuar në çdo mënyrë.
Faithful is this saying and deserving of universal acceptance:
10 Për këtë, në fakt, ne po mundohemi dhe na shajnë, sepse kemi shpresuar në Perëndinë e gjallë, që është Shpëtimtari i gjithë njerëzve dhe sidomos i besimtarëve.
and here is the motive of our toiling and wrestling, because we have our hopes fixed on the ever-living God, who is the Saviour of all mankind, and especially of believers.
11 Urdhëro këto gjëra dhe mëso këto gjëra.
Command this and teach this.
12 Askush të mos e shpërfillë moshën tënde të re, por bëhu shembull për besimtarët në fjalë, në sjellje, në dashuri, në Frymë, në besim dhe në dëlirësi.
Let no one think slightingly of you because you are a young man; but in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, be an example for your fellow Christians to imitate.
13 Kushtoju leximit, këshillimit dhe mësimit derisa të vij unë.
Till I come, bestow your attention on reading, exhortation and teaching.
14 Mos e lër pas dore dhuntinë që është në ty, e cila të është dhënë me anë profecie, me vënien e duarve nga ana e pleqësisë.
Do not be careless about the gifts with which you are endowed, which were conferred on you through a divine revelation when the hands of the elders were placed upon you.
15 Kujdesu për këto gjëra dhe kushtoju atyre tërësisht, që përparimi yt të jetë i dukshëm për të gjithë.
Habitually practise these duties, and be absorbed in them; so that your growing proficiency in them may be evident to all.
16 Ruaje veten tënde dhe mësimin, qëndro në këto gjëra, sepse, duke vepruar kështu, do të shpëtosh veten dhe ata që të dëgjojnë.
Be on your guard as to yourself and your teaching. Persevere in these things; for by doing this you will make certain your own salvation and that of your hearers.
