1 Timoteut 3
1 Kjo fjalë është e sigurt: Në qoftë se dikush dëshiron të bëhet peshkop, dëshiron një punë të mirë.”
This saying is faithful, that if a man desire the presbyterate, a good work he desireth.
2 Duhet, pra, që peshkopi të jetë i patëmetë, burrë i një gruaje të vetme, të jetë i përmbajtur, i arsyeshëm, i matur, mikpritës, i zoti të mësojë të tjerët,
But it behoveth that a presbyter be as that blame be not found in him; and that he be the husband of one wife; (a man) who is of a vigilant mind, chaste, and orderly, and a lover of guests, and instructful;
3 të mos jepet pas verës, të mos jetë i dhunshëm, të mos jetë koprac, por i butë, jo grindavec, të mos lakmojë paranë;
and not a transgressor over wine, nor (one) whose hand hastens to strike; but he is to be gentle and not contentious, nor a lover of money;
4 njeri që e qeveris mirë familjen e vet dhe i ka fëmijët të bindur me çdo lloj mirësjellje;
and (one who) ruleth his house well, holding his children in subjection with all purity.
5 (sepse në qoftë se dikush nuk di të qeverisë familjen e vet, si do të kujdeset për kishën e Perëndisë?).
For if his own house he know not to rule well, how is he able to rule the church of Aloha?
6 Të mos jetë i posakthyer në besim, që të mos i rritet mendja dhe të bjerë në gabimet e djallit.
Neither shall his discipleship be recent, lest he be lifted up, and fall into the judgment of Satana.
7 Madje duhet që ai të ketë dëshmim të mirë edhe ndër të jashtmit, që të mos shahet dhe të bjerë në lakun e djallit.
But it is needful that he have also a good testimony from those without, that he may not fall into reproach, and into the net of Satana.
8 Gjithashtu dhjakët duhet të jenë dinjitozë, jo me dy faqe në fjalë, të mos jepen pas verës së tepërt, të mos lakmojnë fitime të paligjshme,
And also the ministers must be pure, not speaking doubly, not inclined to much wine, nor shall they love unclean gains.
9 dhe ta ruajnë misterin e besimit me ndërgjegje të pastër.
But they shall hold the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience.
10 Edhe këta le të vihen më parë në provë, pastaj ta kryejnë shërbesën e tyre po të jenë të patëmetë.
And these are to be proved first, and then to minister, being without blame.
11 Edhe bashkëshortet e tyre të kenë dinjitet, jo shpifarake, por të përmbajtura dhe besnike në gjithçka.
Thus also must the woman be chaste, and they shall be vigilant (in their) minds, and faithful in every thing; and they shall not be accusers.
12 Dhjakët të jenë bashkëshortë të një gruaje të vetme, t’i drejtojnë mirë fëmijët dhe familjet e veta.
The ministers shall be (of them) severally who have one wife, and shall rule each his children and his household well.
13 Sepse ata që e kanë kryer mirë shërbesën, fitojnë reputacion të mirë dhe siguri të madhe në besimin në Jezu Krishtin.
For they who minister well, a good degree acquire for themselves, and much openness of face in the faith of Jeshu Meshiha.
14 Po t’i shkruaj këto gjëra duke shpresuar që të vij së shpejti te ti,
These I write to thee, hoping soon to come to thee;
15 por, po u vonova, të dish se si duhet të sillesh në shtëpinë e Perëndisë, që është kisha e Perëndisë së gjallë, shtylla dhe mbështetja e së vërtetës.
but if I should delay, that thou mayest know how to converse in the house of Aloha, which is the church of Aloha the Living, the column and foundation of the truth.
16 Dhe s’ka asnjë dyshim se misteri i mëshirës është i madh: Perëndia u shfaq në mish, u shfajësua në Frymë, u duk ndër engjëj, u predikua ndër johebrenj, u besua në botë, u ngrit në lavdi.
And truly great is this mystery of righteousness, which was revealed in the flesh, and justified by the Spirit, and seen of angels, and preached among the peoples, and believed in the world, and taken up into glory.
