1 Thesalonikasve 5

1 Sa për kohët dhe për stinët, vëllezër, nuk keni nevojë që t’ju shkruaj,

But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that ye should be written to,

2 sepse ju vetë e dini shumë mirë se dita e Zotit do të vijë, si një vjedhës natën.

for ye know perfectly well yourselves, that the day of [the] Lord so comes as a thief by night.

3 Sepse, kur thonë: “Paqe dhe siguri”, atëherë një shkatërrim i papritur do të bjerë mbi ta, ashtu si dhembjet e lindjes të gruas shtatzënë dhe nuk do të shpëtojnë.

When they may say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon her that is with child; and they shall in no wise escape.

4 Por ju, vëllezër, nuk jeni në errësirë, që ajo ditë t’ju zërë në befasi si një vjedhës.

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief:

5 Të gjithë ju jeni bij të dritës dhe bij të ditës; ne nuk jemi të natës, as të territ.

for all ye are sons of light and sons of day; we are not of night nor of darkness.

6 Le të mos flemë, pra, si të tjerët, por të rrimë zgjuar dhe të jemi të esëll.

So then do not let us sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be sober;

7 Sepse ata që flejnë, flejnë natën, dhe ata që dehen, dehen natën.

for they that sleep sleep by night, and they that drink drink by night;

8 Kurse ne, mbasi jemi të ditës, jemi të esëll, duke veshur parzmoren e besimit dhe të dashurisë, dhe për përkrenare shpresën e shpëtimit.

but we being of [the] day, let us be sober, putting on [the] breastplate of faith and love, and as helmet [the] hope of salvation;

9 Sepse Perëndia nuk na ka caktuar për zemërim, por për të marrë shpëtimin me anë të Zotit tonë Jezu Krisht,

because God has not set us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

10 i cili vdiq për ne kështu që, qofshim zgjuar qofshim fjetur, jetojmë bashkë me të.

who has died for us, that whether we may be watching or sleep, we may live together with him.

11 Prandaj ngushëlloni njeri tjetrin dhe ndërtoni njeri tjetrin ashtu sikur edhe bëni.

Wherefore encourage one another, and build up each one the other, even as also ye do.

12 Tashmë, vëllezër, ju lutemi të keni respekt për ata që mundohen midis jush, që janë në krye ndër ju në Zotin dhe që ju qortojnë,

But we beg you, brethren, to know those who labour among you, and take the lead among you in [the] Lord, and admonish you,

13 edhe t’i vlerësoni shumë në dashuri për veprën e tyre. Jetoni në paqe midis jush.

and to regard them exceedingly in love on account of their work. Be in peace among yourselves.

14 Tani, vëllezër, ju bëjmë thirrje t’i qortoni të parregulltit, të ngushëlloni zemërlëshuarit, të ndihmoni të dobëtit dhe të jeni të duruar me të gjithë.

But we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, comfort the faint-hearted, sustain the weak, be patient towards all.

15 Vështroni se mos dikush t’ia kthejë dikujt të keqen me të keqen; po kërkoni gjithmonë të mirën edhe te njeri tjetri edhe te të gjithë.

See that no one render to any evil for evil, but pursue always what is good towards one another and towards all;

16 Jini gjithmonë të gëzuar.

rejoice always;

17 Lutuni pa pushim.

pray unceasingly;

18 Për çdo gjë falënderoni sepse i tillë është vullneti i Perëndisë në Krishtin Jezus për ju.

in everything give thanks, for this is [the] will of God in Christ Jesus towards you;

19 Mos e shuani Frymën.

quench not the Spirit;

20 Mos i përbuzni profecitë.

do not lightly esteem prophecies;

21 Provoni të gjitha, mbani të mirën.

but prove all things, hold fast the right;

22 Hiqni dorë nga çdo dukje e ligë.

hold aloof from every form of wickedness.

23 Dhe Perëndia i paqes ju shenjtëroftë ai vetë tërësisht; dhe gjithë fryma juaj, shpirt e trup, të ruhet pa të metë për ardhjen e Zotit tonë Jezu Krisht.

Now the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly: and your whole spirit, and soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Besnik është ai që ju thërret, i cili edhe do ta bëjë.

He [is] faithful who calls you, who will also perform [it].

25 Vëllezër, lutuni për ne.

Brethren, pray for us.

26 Përshëndetni të gjithë vëllezërit me puthje të shenjtë.

Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss.

27 Ju përbetoj për Zotin që kjo letër t’u lexohet gjithë vëllezërve të shenjtë.

I adjure you by the Lord that the letter be read to all the [holy] brethren.

28 Hiri i Zotit tonë Jezu Krisht qoftë me ju. Amen.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you.
