Nehemiah 5:8
I said to them, “We, after our ability, have redeemed our brothers the Jews that were sold to the nations; and would you even sell your brothers, and should they be sold to us?” Then they held their peace, and found not a word to say.

| وَقُلْتُ لَهُمْ: «نَحْنُ ٱشْتَرَيْنَا إِخْوَتَنَا ٱلْيَهُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ بِيعُوا لِلْأُمَمِ حَسَبَ طَاقَتِنَا. وَأَنْتُمْ أَيْضًا تَبِيعُونَ إِخْوَتَكُمْ فَيُبَاعُونَ لَنَا». فَسَكَتُوا وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا جَوَابًا. |
| وَقُلْتُ لَهُمْ: «إِنَّنَا بِحَسَبِ طَاقَتِنَا افْتَدَيْنَا بِالأَمْوَالِ إِخْوَتَنَا الْيَهُودَ الَّذِينَ بِيعُوا لِلأُمَمِ، وَهَا أَنْتُمْ تَبِيعُونَ إِخْوَتَكُمْ لَهُمْ، وَهُمْ يَعُودُونَ فَيَبِيعُونَهُمْ لَنَا». فَسَكَتُوا وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا جَوَاباً. |
আৰু তেওঁলোকক ক’লোঁ, “দেশবোৰলৈ বিক্রী কৰা আমাৰ যিহুদীসকলক আমি সাধ্য অনুসাৰে মুকলি কৰি আনিলোঁ, কিন্তু তাৰ উপৰিও আপোনালোকে আপোনালোকৰ ভাই-ভনীসকলক বিক্রী কৰি আছে, সেই সকলক হয়তো আমালৈকে ঘূৰাই বিক্রী কৰিছে!” তাতে তেওঁলোক নিমাত হ’ল, আৰু একো উত্তৰ দিব নোৱাৰিলে।
Mən onlara dedim: «Biz yadellilərə kölə kimi satılan Yəhudi soydaşlarımızı gücümüz çatana qədər satın alırıq. Siz isə soydaşlarımızı satırsınız ki, onları təzədən bizə satsınlar?» Onlar deməyə bir söz tapmayıb susdular.

আর আমি তাদেরকে বললাম, “জাতিদের কাছে আমাদের যে যিহূদী ভাইয়েরা বিক্রি হয়েছিল, তাদেরকে আমরা ক্ষমতা অনুসারে মুক্ত করেছি; এখন তোমাদের ভাইদেরকে তোমরাই কি বিক্রি করবে? আমাদের কাছে কি তাদেরকে বিক্রি করা হবে?” তাতে তারা চুপ হল, কিছু উত্তর দিতে পারল না।
এবং বললাম “ওই অইহুদিদের কাছে আমাদের যেসব লোকেরা বিক্রি হয়েছিল যতদূর সম্ভব তাদের আমরা ছাড়িয়ে এনেছি। এখন তোমরা তোমাদের লোকদের বিক্রি করছ, যেন আমাদের কাছে তারা আবার বিক্রি হয়!” তারা চুপ করে থাকল, কারণ তারা উত্তর দেবার জন্য কিছুই খুঁজে পেল না।
Ние според силата си изкупихме братята си юдеите, които бяха предадени на народите; а сами вие ще продадете ли братята си? трябва ли да се продадат нам? А те мълчаха и не намериха какво да отговорят.

En ik zeide tot hen: Wij hebben onze broederen, de Joden, die aan de heidenen verkocht waren, naar ons vermogen wedergekocht; en zoudt gijlieden ook uw broederen verkopen, of zouden zij aan ons verkocht worden? Toen zwegen zij, en vonden geen antwoord.

And I said to them, According to our ability we have redeemed our brothers the Jews, who were sold to the nations, and would ye even sell your brothers, and should they be sold to us? Then they were silent, and found not a word.
I said to them, “We, after our ability, have redeemed our brothers the Jews that were sold to the nations; and would you even sell your brothers, and should they be sold to us?” Then they held their peace, and found not a word to say.

and said, “We have done our best to buy back our Jewish brothers who were sold to foreigners, but now you are selling your own brothers, that they may be sold back to us!” But they remained silent, for they could find nothing to say.
And I said to them, We have given whatever we were able to give, to make our brothers the Jews free, who were servants and prisoners of the nations: and would you now give up your brothers for a price, and are they to become our property? Then they said nothing, answering not a word.
and I said to them, We of our free-will have redeemed our brethren the Jews that were sold to the Gentiles; and do ye sell your brethren? and shall they be delivered to us? And they were silent, and found no answer.

And I said to them: We, as you know, have redeemed according to our ability our brethren the Jews, that were sold to the Gentiles: and will you then sell your brethren, for us to redeem them? And they held their peace, and found not what to answer.
There I told them, “We have done as much as we can to buy back our Jewish brothers who were sold to foreigners, but now you are selling your own brothers as slaves! Are you expecting to sell them back to us?” They kept quiet because they couldn't think of anything to say.
And I said vnto them, We (according to our abilitie) haue redeemed our brethren the Iewes, which were solde vnto the heathen: and will you sell your brethren againe, or shall they be solde vnto vs? Then helde they their peace, and could not answere.
And I said unto them: 'We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, that sold themselves unto the heathen; and would ye nevertheless sell your brethren, and should they sell themselves unto us?' Then held they their peace, and found never a word.

and say to them, “We have acquired our brothers the Jews, those sold to the nations, according to the ability that [is] in us, and you also sell your brothers, and they have been sold to us!” And they are silent, and have not found a word.
I said to them, "We, after our ability, have redeemed our brothers the Jews that were sold to the nations; and would you even sell your brothers, and should they be sold to us?" Then they held their peace, and found never a word.

and I said to their [leaders], “Some of our Jewish relatives have been forced to sell themselves to become slaves of people who have come from other countries. As much as we have been able to, we have been buying them back [out of slavery]. But now you are forcing your own relatives to sell themselves to you, their fellow Jews, as slaves!” [When I said that to them, ] they were silent. There was nothing that they could say [because they knew that what I said was true].
and said to them, “We, as much as we are able, have bought back from slavery our Jewish brothers who had been sold to the nations, but you even sell your brothers and sisters that they may be sold back to us!” They were silent and never found a word to say.
And I said to them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, who were sold to the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold to us? Then they held their peace, and found nothing [to answer].

Ja sanoin heille: me olemme ostaneet veljemme Juudalaiset jälleen, jotka olivat myydyt pakanoille, varamme jälkeen; ja te vielä nyt tahdotte myydä veljenne, jotka meille myydyt ovat; niin he vaikenivat ja ei taitaneet vastata.

Là, je leur dis: "Nous, nous avons racheté nos frères, les Judéens, qui étaient vendus aux Gentils, autant que cela était en notre pouvoir; et vous, vous voudriez vendre vos frères, et c’est à nous qu’ils seraient vendus!" Ils se turent, ne trouvant rien à répliquer.

Wir haben unsere Brüder, die Juden, welche den Nationen verkauft waren, soweit es uns möglich war, losgekauft; und ihr wollt gar eure Brüder verkaufen? Und sie sollen sich uns verkaufen? Da schwiegen sie und fanden keine Antwort.
und sprach zu ihnen: Wir haben unsere jüdischen Brüder, die an die Heiden verkauft waren, losgekauft, so oft es uns möglich war. Ihr aber wollt gar eure Brüder verkaufen, daß sie an uns verkauft werden? Da schwiegen sie still und wußten nichts zu antworten.
und sprach zu ihnen: Wir haben unsere Brüder, die Juden, erkauft, die den Heiden verkauft waren, nach unserm Vermögen; und ihr wollt auch eure Brüder verkaufen, die wir zu uns gekauft haben? Da schwiegen sie und fanden nichts zu antworten.
