Atëherë dishepujt e vet e pyetën çfarë kuptimi kishte ajo shëmbëlltyrë.

فَسَأَلَهُ تَلَامِيذُهُ قَائِلِينَ: «مَا عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ هَذَا ٱلْمَثَلُ؟».
وَسَأَلَهُ تَلاَمِيذُهُ: «مَا هُوَ مَغْزَى هَذَا الْمَثَلِ؟»
