परन्तु उस पुरुष ने उस रात को टिकना न चाहा, इसलिए वह उठकर विदा हुआ, और काठी बाँधे हुए दो गदहे और अपनी रखैल संग लिए हुए यबूस के सामने तक (जो यरूशलेम कहलाता है) पहुँचा।
मगर वह व्यक्ति अब वहां रात बिताने के लिए तैयार न था. सो वह अपनी यात्रा पर निकल पड़ा. चलते हुए वे येबूस अर्थात् येरूशलेम के पास एक जगह पर पहुंचे. उसके साथ एक जोड़ा लकड़ी कसे हुए गधे थे, तथा उसकी उप-पत्नी भी उसके साथ थी.
