Joshua 4:8
The children of Israel did as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the middle of the Jordan, as the LORD spoke to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel. They carried them over with them to the place where they camped, and laid them down there.

আর ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানরা যিহোশূয়ের আজ্ঞানুসারে কাজ করল, সদাপ্রভু যিহোশূয়কে যেমন বলেছিলেন, তেমনি ইস্রায়েল-সন্তানদের বংশের সংখ্যানুসারে যর্দ্দনের মধ্য থেকে বারটি পাথর তুলে নিল এবং নিজেদের সঙ্গে পারে রাত কাটানোর জায়গায় নিয়ে গিয়ে সেখানে রাখল।
তাই যিহোশূয়ের আদেশমতো ওই ইস্রায়েলীরা সেরকমই করল। সদাপ্রভু যেমন যিহোশূয়কে বললেন, ইস্রায়েলীদের গোষ্ঠী সংখ্যা অনুসারে, তারা জর্ডন নদীর মাঝখান থেকে বারোটি পাথর তুলে আনল। তারা সেগুলি বয়ে নিয়ে তাদের শিবিরে নিয়ে গেল। তারা সেখানেই সেগুলি নামিয়ে রাখল।

So those Israeli men did what Joshua told them to do. They went and picked up twelve [large] stones from the middle of the Jordan [riverbed], one stone for each of the tribes, just as Yahweh had told Joshua. They carried the stones to their camp and put them down.

Vậy, dân Y-sơ-ra-ên làm theo điều Giô-suê đã biểu, bèn lấy mười hai hòn đá ở giữa sông Giô-đanh, theo số chi phái dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, và đem nó theo cùng mình đến chỗ nào phải ngủ ban đêm, rồi đặt tại đó, y như Ðức Giê-hô-va đã phán dặn Giô-suê.
Các người ấy vâng lời Giô-suê. Họ lấy mười hai tảng đá từ giữa lòng Sông Giô-đan, mỗi đại tộc một tảng, đem đặt tại nơi họ nghỉ chân đêm ấy, theo lời Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo Giô-suê.
