Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel. He said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still on Gibeon! You, moon, stop in the valley of Aijalon!”

তেতিয়া যিহোৱাই ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সন্তান সকলক ইমোৰীয়া সকলৰ ওপৰত জয়ী হ’বলৈ দিলে৷ সেইদিনা যিহোচূৱাই ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সাক্ষাতে যিহোৱাক ক’লে, “হে সূৰ্য, তুমি গিবিয়োনৰ ওপৰত স্থিৰ হোৱা, আৰু হে চন্দ্ৰ, তুমি অয়ালোনৰ উপত্যকাৰ ওপৰত স্থিৰ হোৱা৷”

যেদিন সদাপ্রভু ইমোরীয়দের ইস্রায়েলের হাতে সমর্পণ করলেন, যিহোশূয় সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলের সামনে সদাপ্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা করলেন। তিনি বললেন: “সূর্য, তুমি গিবিয়োনে স্থির হয়ে দাঁড়াও, আর চাঁদ, তুমি দাঁড়াও অয়ালোন উপত্যকায়।”
