তথাপিও নাবিকসকলে সমুদ্রৰ তীৰ পাবৰ বাবে পুণৰায় বৰকৈ বাই যাবলৈ ধৰিলে, কিন্তু তেওঁলোক সফল নহ’ল। প্রচণ্ড ধুমুহা আৰু উত্তাল সমুদ্রৰ ঢৌ অধিক শক্তিশালী হৈ উঠিব ধৰিলে।

তা না করে সেই লোকেরা প্রাণপণ চেষ্টা করল, যেন তারা জাহাজটিকে ডাঙায় নিয়ে যেতে পারে। কিন্তু তারা পেরে উঠল না, বরং সমুদ্র আগের থেকেও বেশি বিক্ষুব্ধ হয়ে উঠল।

तो भी वे बड़े यत्न से खेते रहे कि उसको किनारे पर लगाएँ, परन्तु पहुँच न सके, क्योंकि समुद्र की लहरें उनके विरुद्ध बढ़ती ही जाती थीं।

Tetapi para anak buah kapal tidak mau langsung membuang Yunus ke laut. Mereka berusaha sekuat tenaga mendayung kapal itu kembali ke darat. Namun mereka tidak mampu karena badai itu semakin besar dan menyerang mereka.
