तब यहोवा के दूत ने निकलकर अश्शूरियों की छावनी में एक लाख पचासी हजार पुरुषों को मारा; और भोर को जब लोग उठे तब क्या देखा कि शव ही शव पड़े हैं।
उसी रात ऐसा हुआ कि याहवेह के एक स्वर्गदूत ने अश्शूरी सेना के शिविर में जाकर एक लाख पचासी हज़ार सैनिकों को मार दिया. सुबह जागने पर लोगों ने पाया कि सारे सैनिक मर चुके थे.
