Genesis 9:23
Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it on both their shoulders, went in backwards, and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were backwards, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.

| فَأَخَذَ سَامٌ وَيَافَثُ رِدَاءً وَوَضَعَاهُ عَلَى أَكْتَافِهِمَا وَمَشَيَا الْقَهْقَرَى إِلَى دَاخِلِ الْخَيْمَةِ، وَسَتَرَا عُرْيَ أَبِيهِمَا مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَسْتَدِيرَا بِوَجْهَيْهِمَا نَحْوَهُ فَيُبْصِرَا عُرْيَهُ. |
Սէմն ու Յաբէթը, երկուսն էլ, հագուստներ առան իրենց ուսերին եւ, յետ-յետ գնալով, ծածկեցին իրենց հօր մերկութիւնը: Նրանք մէջքով էին կանգնած, այնպէս որ իրենց հօր մերկութիւնը չտեսան:

তাতে শেম ও যেফৎ কাপড় নিয়ে নিজেদের কাঁধে রেখে পিছনে হেঁটে বাবার উলঙ্গতা ঢেকে দিলেন; পিছন দিকে মুখ থাকাতে তাঁরা পিতার উলঙ্গতা দেখলেন না।
কিন্তু শেম ও যেফৎ একটি কাপড় নিয়ে সেটি তাঁদের কাঁধের উপর ফেলে রাখলেন; পরে তাঁরা পিছনের দিকে পিছিয়ে গিয়ে তাঁদের বাবার উলঙ্গতা ঢেকে দিলেন। তাঁদের মুখমণ্ডল অন্যদিকে ঘোরানো ছিল, যেন তাঁরা তাঁদের বাবার উলঙ্গতা দেখতে না পান।

καὶ λαβόντες Σημ καὶ Ιαφεθ τὸ ἱμάτιον ἐπέθεντο ἐπὶ τὰ δύο νῶτα αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπισθοφανῶς καὶ συνεκάλυψαν τὴν γύμνωσιν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν καὶ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτῶν ὀπισθοφανές καὶ τὴν γύμνωσιν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν οὐκ εἶδον
તેથી શેમ તથા યાફેથે એક વસ્ત્ર લીધું, તેને તેમના બન્ને ખભા પર નાખ્યું અને તેઓએ પાછા પગલે ચાલીને તેમના પિતાના શરીરને ઓઢાડ્યું. તેઓનાં મુખ બીજી તરફ ફેરવેલાં હતાં તેથી તેઓને પિતાની નિર્વસ્ત્ર અવસ્થા દેખાઈ નહિ.

शेम तथा याफेत ने एक वस्त्र लिया, और दोनों ने उल्टे पांव चलते हुए अपने पिता के नंगे देह को ढक दिया. इस समय उनके मुख विपरीत दिशा में थे, इसलिये उन्होंने अपने पिता के नंगेपन को न देखा.

Demikianlah mereka menutupi Nuh dengan jubah itu.
