The time came near that Israel must die, and he called his son Joseph, and said to him, “If now I have found favor in your sight, please put your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me. Please do not bury me in Egypt,

| وَعِنْدَمَا قَرُبَ يَوْمُ وَفَاتِهِ، اسْتَدْعَى ابْنَهُ يُوسُفَ وَقَالَ لَهُ: «إِنْ كُنْتُ قَدْ حَظِيتُ بِرِضَاكَ، فَضَعْ يَدَكَ تَحْتَ فَخْذِي، وَأَسْدِ لِي مَعْرُوفاً وَأَمَانَةً: لاَ تَدْفِنِّي فِي مِصْرَ |

Et comme il voyait approcher le jour de sa mort, il appela son fils Joseph, et lui dit: Si j’ai trouvé grâce devant toi, mets ta main sous ma cuisse; et tu auras pour moi cet égard et cette loyauté, de ne pas m’ensevelir en Égypte;
Lorsqu’Israël approcha du moment de sa mort, il appela son fils Joseph, et lui dit: Si j’ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, mets, je te prie, ta main sous ma cuisse, et use envers moi de bonté et de fidélité: ne m’enterre pas en Égypte!

Les jours d’Israël approchant de leur terme, il manda son fils Joseph et lui dit: "Si tu as quelque affection pour moi, mets, je te prie, ta main sous ma hanche pour attester que tu agiras envers moi avec bonté et fidélité, en ne m’ensevelissant point en Egypte.
