Genesis 32:20
You shall say, ‘Not only that, but behold, your servant, Jacob, is behind us.’” For, he said, “I will appease him with the present that goes before me, and afterward I will see his face. Perhaps he will accept me.”

| وَتَقُولُونَ: هُوَذَا عَبْدُكَ يَعْقُوبُ أَيْضًا وَرَاءَنَا». لِأَنَّهُ قَالَ: «أَسْتَعْطِفُ وَجْهَهُ بِٱلْهَدِيَّةِ ٱلسَّائِرَةِ أَمَامِي، وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ أَنْظُرُ وَجْهَهُ، عَسَى أَنْ يَرْفَعَ وَجْهِي». |
| «تَقُولُونَ أَيْضاً: هُوَذَا عَبْدُكَ يَعْقُوبُ قَادِمٌ وَرَاءَنَا». وَكَانَ يَعْقُوبُ يَقُولُ فِي نَفْسِهِ: «أَسْتَعْطِفُهُ بِالْهَدَايَا الَّتِي تَتَقَدَّمُنِي، ثُمَّ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ أُشَاهِدُ وَجْهَهُ لَعَلَّهُ يَرْضَى عَنِّي». |
Դուք կ՚ասէք. «Ահա քո ծառայ Յակոբը գալիս է մեր ետեւից»: Նա ինքն իրեն մտածում էր. «Նրան կը մեղմեմ այն ընծաներով, որ ուղարկում եմ ինձնից առաջ, եւ ապա անձամբ կը հանդիպեմ նրան, թերեւս բարեացակամ լինի իմ նկատմամբ»:
তোমালোকেও কবা, ‘আপোনাৰ দাস যাকোবও আমাৰ পাছত আহি আছে।’” কিয়নো যাকোবে ভাবিলে, “মোৰ আগে আগে যি উপহাৰবোৰ গৈছে, তাৰ দ্বাৰাই মই তেওঁক শান্ত কৰিম। পাছত যেতিয়া মোৰ তেওঁৰে সৈতে দেখাদেখি হব, তেতিয়া হয়তো তেওঁ মোক গ্রহণ কৰি লব।”
«Esava rast gələndə ona eyni sözləri söyləyin: “Qulun Yaqub da dalımızca gəlir”». Çünki o öz-özünə deyirdi: «Əvvəlcə qabağımda göndərdiyim hədiyyələrlə onu rəhmə gətirərəm, sonra onunla görüşərəm. Bəlkə onda məni qəbul edər».

আর অবশ্যই বলবে, ‘আপনার দাস যাকোব আমাদের পিছু পিছু আসছেন।’” কারণ তিনি ভেবেছিলেন, “আগেভাগেই আমি এই যেসব উপহার পাঠিয়ে দিচ্ছি, সেগুলি দিয়েই আমি তাঁকে শান্ত করব; পরে, আমার সঙ্গে যখন তাঁর দেখা হবে, হয়তো তিনি আমাকে গ্রহণ করবেন।”
и ще речете: Ето, слугата ти Яков иде подир нас. Защото си думаше: Ще го умилостивя с подаръка, който върви пред мене и после ще видя лицето му; може би ще ме приеме благосклонно.

并且你们要说：‘你仆人雅各在我们后边。’”因雅各心里说：“我借着在我前头去的礼物解他的恨，然后再见他的面，或者他容纳我。”

Još mu dodaj: 'A sluga tvoj Jakov i sam je za nama.'” Mislio je naime: “Ako ga unaprijed udobrostivim darovima, a onda se s njim suočim, možda će mi oprostiti.”

»Din Træl Jakob kommer selv bagefter!« Thi han tænkte: »Jeg vil søge at forsone ham ved den Gave, der drager foran, og først bagefter vil jeg træde frem for ham; maaske han da tager venligt imod mig!«

And you are to say further, Jacob, your servant, is coming after us. For he said to himself, I will take away his wrath by the offering which I have sent on, and then I will come before him: it may be that I will have grace in his eyes.
and ye shall say, Behold thy servant Jacob comes after us. For he said, I will propitiate his countenance with the gifts going before his presence, and afterwards I will behold his face, for peradventure he will accept me.

You must also tell him, ‘Your servant Jacob is right behind us.’” Jacob said to himself, “Maybe by sending these gifts on ahead Esau won't be angry with me and when I meet him he'll be kind to me.”
And ye shall say moreouer, Beholde, thy seruant Iaakob commeth after vs (for he thought, I will appease his wrath with the present that goeth before me, and afterwarde I will see his face: it may be that he will accept me.)

And be sure to say ‘Jacob, who wants to serve you, is coming behind us.’” Jacob told them to say that because he was thinking, “Perhaps these gifts that I am sending ahead of me will cause him to (act peacefully toward/stop being angry with) me. Then later, when I see him, perhaps he will be kind to me.”

whanne ye fynden hym, and ye schulen adde, Also Jacob hym silf thi seruaunt sueth oure weie. For Jacob seide, Y schal plese Esau with yiftis that goon bifore, and aftirward Y schal se hym; in hap he schal be mercyful to me.
and ye have said also, Lo, thy servant Jacob [is] behind us;' for he said, 'I pacify his face with the present which is going before me, and afterwards I see his face; it may be he lifteth up my face;'

et vous direz: Voici, ton serviteur Jacob vient aussi après nous. Car il se disait: Je veux l'apaiser au moyen du présent qui me précède, et ensuite je le verrai; peut-être me fera-t-il bon accueil.
Dites: Voici ton serviteur Jacob qui vient derrière nous. Car, se dit- il, je l'apaiserai par les présents qui vont au devant de lui, et, après cela, je le verrai face à face, et il m'accueillera favorablement.
Et vous direz: ‘Voici que lui même, ton serviteur Jacob nous suit" car il disait: "Je veux rasséréner son visage par le présent qui me devance et puis je regarderai son visage, peut être deviendra t il bienveillant pour moi."

und sollt sagen: Siehe, dein Knecht Jakob ist selbst hinter uns. Denn er sagte: Ich will ihn versöhnen durch das Geschenk, das vor mir hergeht, und danach will ich sein Angesicht sehen; vielleicht wird er mich annehmen.
und sollt sprechen: Dein Sklave Jakob selbst folgt uns auf dem Fuße nach. Er dachte nämlich: Ich will ihn besänftigen mit dem Geschenk, das mir vorausgeht; erst dann will ich ihm unter die Augen treten, vielleicht wird er mich gnädig aufnehmen.
und saget ja auch: Siehe, dein Knecht Jakob ist hinter uns. Denn er gedachte, ich will ihn versöhnen mit dem Geschenk, das vor mir hergehet; danach will ich ihn sehen, vielleicht wird er mich annehmen.
und sagt ja auch: Siehe, dein Knecht Jakob ist hinter uns. Denn er gedachte: Ich will ihn versöhnen mit dem Geschenk, das vor mir her geht; darnach will ich ihn sehen, vielleicht wird er mich annehmen.
und sollt weiter sagen: ›Dein Knecht Jakob kommt selbst gleich hinter uns her.‹« Er dachte nämlich: »Ich will ihn durch das Geschenk versöhnen, das mir vorauszieht; erst dann will ich ihm selber vor die Augen treten; vielleicht nimmt er mich dann freundlich an.«
und ihr sollt sagen: Siehe, dein Knecht Jakob kommt auch hinter uns her! Denn er gedachte: Ich will sein Angesicht versöhnen mit dem Geschenk, das vor mir hergeht; darnach will ich sein Angesicht sehen; vielleicht wird er mich gnädig ansehen.
Und ihr sollt auch sagen: Siehe, dein Knecht Jakob ist hinter uns; denn, sagte er, ich will sein Angesicht versöhnen mit dem Geschenk, das vor mir geht; und danach will ich sein Angesicht sehen, vielleicht erhebt er mein Angesicht.

και θέλετε ειπεί, Ιδού, οπίσω ημών και αυτός ο δούλός σου Ιακώβ. Διότι έλεγε, Θέλω εξιλεώσει το πρόσωπον αυτού με το δώρον, το προπορευόμενον έμπροσθέν μου· και μετά ταύτα θέλω ιδεί το πρόσωπον αυτού· ίσως θέλει με δεχθή.
