The elders of the Jews built and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the decree of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

| وَهَكَذَا تَابَعَ شُيُوخُ الْيَهُودِ الْبِنَاءَ بِنَجَاحٍ، تَتْمِيماً لِنُبُوءَةِ حَجَّيِ النَّبِيِّ وَزَكَرِيَّا بْنِ عِدُّو، فَاسْتَكْمَلُوا الْبِنَاءَ حَسَبَ أَمْرِ إِلَهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَأَمْرِ كُورُشَ وَدَارِيُوسَ وَأَرْتَحْشَشْتَا مُلُوكِ فَارِسَ. |

യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാർ പണിതു; ഹഗ്ഗായിപ്രവാചകനും ഇദ്ദോവിന്റെ മകനായ സെഖൎയ്യാവും പ്രവചിച്ചതിനാൽ അവൎക്കു സാധിച്ചും വന്നു. അവർ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കല്പനപ്രകാരവും കോരെശിന്റെയും ദാൎയ്യാവേശിന്റെയും പാൎസിരാജാവായ അൎത്ഥഹ്ശഷ്ടാവിന്റെയും കല്പനപ്രകാരവും അതു പണിതുതീൎത്തു.
അങ്ങനെ യെഹൂദനേതാക്കന്മാർ പണി തുടർന്നു. ഹഗ്ഗായി പ്രവാചകന്റെയും ഇദ്ദോവിന്റെ പിൻഗാമിയായ സെഖര്യാവിന്റെയും പ്രവചനങ്ങളാൽ അവർ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്പെട്ടും വന്നു. ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആജ്ഞയനുസരിച്ചും പാർസിരാജാക്കന്മാരായ കോരെശ്, ദാര്യാവേശ്, അർഥഹ്ശഷ്ട എന്നിവരുടെ കൽപ്പനപ്രകാരവും അവർ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പണി പൂർത്തിയാക്കി.
