तब एज्रा उठा, और याजकों, लेवियों और सब इस्राएलियों के प्रधानों को यह शपथ खिलाई कि हम इसी वचन के अनुसार करेंगे; और उन्होंने वैसी ही शपथ खाई।
यह सुन एज़्रा उठे तथा सभी अगुए पुरोहितों, लेवियों तथा सारे इस्राएल को यह शपथ लेने के लिए प्रेरित किया कि वे इस प्रस्ताव के अनुसार ही करेंगे. इसलिये उन्होंने यह शपथ ली.
