Then I saw all the labor and achievement that is the envy of a man’s neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

| وَأَدْرَكْتُ أَيْضاً أَنَّ كُلَّ تَعَبِ الإِنْسَانِ وَمُنْجَزَاتِهِ، نَاتِجَةٌ عَنْ حَسَدِهِ لِقَرِيبِهِ. هَذَا أَيْضاً بَاطِلٌ كَمُلاَحَقَةِ الرِّيحِ. |
তাৰ পাছত মই দেখিলোঁ, সকলো পৰিশ্রমৰ কার্য আৰু সকলো দক্ষ কার্যক্ষম এজন লোকৰ প্রতি আন জনৰ হিংসাভাৱ থকাৰ পৰাই হয়। ইয়ো অসাৰ; কেৱল বতাহক ধৰিবলৈ চেষ্টা কৰাৰ বাহিৰে একো নহয়।

আর আমি দেখলাম একজনের প্রতি হিংসার দরুনই মানুষ সব পরিশ্রম করে এবং সফলতা লাভ করে। এটাও অসার, কেবল বাতাসের পিছনে দৌড়ানো।

我又见人为一切的劳碌和各样灵巧的工作就被邻舍嫉妒。这也是虚空，也是捕风。

Also I beheld all trauaile, and all perfection of workes that this is ye enuie of a man against his neighbour: this also is vanitie and vexation of spirit.
Again, I considered all labour and all excelling in work, that it is a man's rivalry with his neighbour. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

I also thought about all the hard work that people do and the skills that they have. And I thought about how they compete with each other because they are envious of others, [and I concluded that] this also is something that is not accomplishing anything useful, [like] chasing the wind.
Then I saw that every act of labor and every skillful work became the envy of one's neighbor. This also is vapor and an attempt to shepherd the wind.
Again, I considered all labor, and every right work, that for this a man is envied by his neighbor. This [is] also vanity and vexation of spirit.

વળી મેં સઘળી મહેનત અને ચતુરાઈનું દરેક કામ જોયું અને એ પણ જોયું કે તેના લીધે માણસ ઉપર તેનો પડોશી ઈર્ષ્યા કરે છે. એ પણ વ્યર્થ તથા પવનથી મુઠી ભરવા જેવું છે.

तब मैंने सब परिश्रम के काम और सब सफल कामों को देखा जो लोग अपने पड़ोसी से जलन के कारण करते हैं। यह भी व्यर्थ और वायु को पकड़ना है।
मैंने यह भी पाया कि सारी मेहनत और सारी कुशलता मनुष्य एवं उसके पड़ोसी के बीच जलन के कारण है. यह भी बेकार और हवा से झगड़ना है.

És láttam én minden fáradságot és a cselekvésnek minden ügyességét, hogy az az egyiknek irígysége a másik ellen. Ez is hiúság és szélnek hajhászása.

Aku tahu juga bahwa manusia bekerja begitu keras, hanya karena iri hati melihat hasil usaha tetangganya. Semua itu sia-sia belaka seperti usaha mengejar angin.
Dan aku melihat bahwa segala jerih payah dan segala kecakapan dalam pekerjaan adalah iri hati seseorang terhadap yang lain. Inipun kesia-siaan dan usaha menjaring angin.
Aku juga menyaksikan banyak orang berjerih payah untuk mencapai suatu keberhasilan hanya karena terdorong oleh iri hati kepada orang lain. Memang hal itu juga sia-sia— sama seperti berusaha menjaring angin!

我また諸の勞苦と諸の工事の精巧とを觀るに 是は人のたがひに嫉みあひて成せる者たるなり 是も空にして風を捕ふるが如し
また、わたしはすべての労苦と、すべての巧みなわざを見たが、これは人が互にねたみあってなすものである。これもまた空であって、風を捕えるようである。
我また諸の労苦と諸の工事の精巧とを観るに 是は人のたがひに嫉みあひて成せる者たるなり 是も空にして風を捕ふるが如し

ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಪಡುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಯಾಸವನ್ನೂ ಸಾಧಿಸುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಇವು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಮತ್ಸರಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವೆಂದು ನಾನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡೆನು. ಇದು ಕೂಡ ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವೇ.
ಆಗ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪ್ರಯಾಸವನ್ನು, ಕೈಗೂಡುವ ಸಕಲ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಇವು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಮತ್ಸರಕ್ಕೆ ಆಸ್ಪದವೆಂದು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡೆನು. ಇದು ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವೇ.
내가 또 본즉 사람이 모든 수고와 여러 가지 교묘한 일로 인하여 이웃에게 시기를 받으니 이것도 헛되어 바람을 잡으려는 것이로다
