Deuteronomy 8:16
who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that he might humble you, and that he might prove you, to do you good at your latter end;

তেওঁ সেই মৰুভূমিত আপোনালোক মান্না খাবলৈ দিছিল - যিটো আপোনালোকৰ পূর্বপুৰুষসকলে কেতিয়াও দেখা নাছিল। যিহোৱাই আপোনালোকক পৰীক্ষা কৰিবৰ কাৰণে আৰু নম্র কৰিবৰ কাৰণে তেওঁ এইদৰে কৰিছিল যাতে শেষত আপোনালোকৰ সকলো ভাল হয়।

τοῦ ψωμίσαντός σε τὸ μαννα ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ὃ οὐκ εἴδησαν οἱ πατέρες σου ἵνα κακώσῃ σε καὶ ἐκπειράσῃ σε καὶ εὖ σε ποιήσῃ ἐπ’ ἐσχάτων τῶν ἡμερῶν σου
યહોવાહે અરણ્યમાં તમને માન્ના કે જે તમારા પિતૃઓએ કદી નહોતું જોયું તેનાથી તમારું પોષણ કર્યું, એ માટે યહોવાહ તમને નમ્ર કરે અને આખરે તમારું સારું કરવા માટે તે તમારી કસોટી કરે.

और तुझे जंगल में मन्ना खिलाया, जिसे तुम्हारे पुरखा जानते भी न थे, इसलिए कि वह तुझे नम्र बनाए, और तेरी परीक्षा करके अन्त में तेरा भला ही करे।
निर्जन प्रदेश में उन्होंने तुम्हें मन्ना का भोजन दिया, जो तुम्हारे पूर्वज जानते भी न थे, कि वे तुम्हें नम्र बना दें, कि वह तुम्हारी जांच करें, कि इससे अंततः तुम्हारा ही भला हो.

Jangan lupa bahwa di padang belantara, Dia memberi manna kepada kalian, makanan yang belum pernah dimakan oleh kita maupun nenek moyang kita. Dengan begitu, Dia menguji kalian demi kebaikanmu, karena Dia ingin kamu semua menjadi rendah hati.
