Now David was sitting between the two gates; and the watchman went up to the roof of the gate to the wall, and lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, a man running alone.

હવે દાઉદ બે દરવાજાની વચ્ચે બેઠો હતો. ચોકીદારે કોટના દરવાજાના છત ઉપર ચઢીને આંખો ઊંચી કરીને જોયું. તેણે જોયું કે એક માણસ દોડતો આવી રહ્યો છે.

दाऊद तो दो फाटकों के बीच बैठा था, कि पहरुआ जो फाटक की छत से होकर शहरपनाह पर चढ़ गया था, उसने आँखें उठाकर क्या देखा, कि एक मनुष्य अकेला दौड़ा आता है।
दावीद दो द्वारों के मध्य बैठे हुए थे. प्रहरी दीवार से चढ़कर द्वार पर बने छत पर पहुंच गया. जब उसने दृष्टि की तो उसे एक अकेला व्यक्ति दौड़ता हुआ नजर आया.
