Thus Joash the king did not remember the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but killed his son. When he died, he said, “May the LORD look at it, and repay it.”

Ni kralj Joaš ne sjeti se ljubavi koju mu učini otac Jojada, nego mu ubi sina; a on je umirući rekao: “Jahve neka vidi i osveti!”

King Joash had forgotten about how Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had been kind to him. That’s why he gave orders for the people to kill Jehoiada’s son Zechariah, who said as he was dying, “I hope that Yahweh will see [what you are doing to me] and punish [you for doing it].”

इस प्रकार राजा योआश ने वह प्रीति भूलकर जो यहोयादा ने उससे की थी, उसके पुत्र को घात किया। मरते समय उसने कहा, “यहोवा इस पर दृष्टि करके इसका लेखा ले।”
