But who is able to build him a house, since heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him? Who am I then, that I should build him a house, except just to burn incense before him?

| وَمَنْ يَسْتَطِيعُ حَقّاً أَنْ يَبْنِيَ لَهُ هَيْكَلاً لأَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَسَمَاءَ السَّمَاوَاتِ لاَ تَسَعُهُ! وَمَنْ أَنَا حَتَّى أَبْنِيَ لَهُ هَيْكَلاً إِلاَّ لِيَكُونَ لَهُ هَيْكَلاً لإِيْقَادِ الْبَخُورِ فِي حَضْرَتِهِ! |
কিন্তু যি স্থলত বিশ্ৱব্ৰহ্মাণ্ডত আৰু স্বৰ্গৰো স্বৰ্গই তেওঁক ধাৰণ কৰিব নোৱাৰে, এনে স্থলত, কোনে তেওঁৰ বাবে এটা গৃহ নিৰ্ম্মাণ কৰিব পাৰিব? কেৱল তেওঁৰ আগত ধূপ জ্বলোৱা উদ্দেশ্যৰ বাহিৰে, মই কোন, যে তেওঁৰ বাবে গৃহ নিৰ্ম্মাণ কৰিব পাৰোঁ?

কিন্তু তাঁর জন্য এক মন্দির নির্মাণ করতে কে-ই বা সক্ষম, যেহেতু আকাশমণ্ডল, এমনকি স্বর্গের স্বর্গও যে তাঁকে ধারণ করতে অপারক? তবে শুধু তাঁর সামনে বলিকৃত উপহারগুলি জ্বালানোর উপযোগী এক স্থান তৈরি করা ছাড়া আমি কি তাঁর জন্য এক মন্দির নির্মাণ করতে পারব?

天和天上的天，尚且不足他居住的，谁能为他建造殿宇呢？我是谁？能为他建造殿宇吗？不过在他面前烧香而已。

But who is able to build for him a house, seeing heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him? Who am I then, that I should build for him a house, except only to burn incense before him?

But no one can really build a temple that would be big enough for God [to live in], because even the highest heavens are not big enough for him. And I am worthy only to build a place where we can burn sacrifices to him.

Freilich – wer vermöchte ihm ein Haus zu bauen, da doch der Himmel und aller Himmel Himmel ihn nicht fassen können? Und wer bin ich, daß ich ihm ein Haus bauen sollte? Es geschieht ja nur, um vor ihm (Opfer als) Räucherwerk zu verbrennen.
Aber wer vermag es, ihm ein Haus zu bauen? Denn der Himmel und aller Himmel Himmel mögen ihn nicht fassen; und wer bin ich, daß ich ihm ein Haus baue, es sei denn, um vor ihm zu räuchern?

Αλλά τις δύναται να οικοδομήση εις αυτόν οίκον, ενώ ο ουρανός και ο ουρανός των ουρανών δεν είναι ικανοί να χωρέσωσιν αυτόν; Τις δε είμαι εγώ, ώστε να οικοδομήσω οίκον εις αυτόν; ειμή μόνον διά να θυσιάζω ενώπιον αυτού;
καὶ τίς ἰσχύσει οἰκοδομῆσαι αὐτῷ οἶκον ὅτι ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ὁ οὐρανὸς τοῦ οὐρανοῦ οὐ φέρουσιν αὐτοῦ τὴν δόξαν καὶ τίς ἐγὼ οἰκοδομῶν αὐτῷ οἶκον ὅτι ἀλλ’ ἢ τοῦ θυμιᾶν κατέναντι αὐτοῦ
તો પણ તેમને માટે સભાસ્થાન બાંધવાને કોણ સમર્થ છે? કારણ કે સમગ્ર વિશ્વમાં અને આકાશોના આકાશમાં તેમનો સમાવેશ થઈ શકે તેમ નથી. તો પછી હું કોણ કે તેમને માટે સભાસ્થાન બાંધું? એ તો માત્ર તેમની સમક્ષ અર્પણ કરવાને માટે જ છે.

परन्तु किस में इतनी शक्ति है, कि उसके लिये भवन बनाए, वह तो स्वर्ग में वरन् सबसे ऊँचे स्वर्ग में भी नहीं समाता? मैं क्या हूँ कि उसके सामने धूप जलाने को छोड़ और किसी विचार से उसका भवन बनाऊँ?
ऐसा कौन है, जो उनके लिए भवन बनवा सके, क्योंकि वह आकाश और ऊंचे स्वर्ग में भी नहीं समाते हैं? सो मैं कौन हूं, कि उनके सामने धूप जलाने के अलावा किसी और काम के लिए मैं उनका भवन बनवाऊं?

ಆದರೆ ಆತನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಶಕ್ತರಾರು! ಉನ್ನತೋನ್ನತವಾದ ಆಕಾಶವೂ ಆತನ ವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಲದಿರುವಾಗ ಆತನಿಗಾಗಿ ಆಲಯ ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಆತನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಜ್ಞವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಬಹುದೇ ಹೊರತು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಲು ನಾನು ಎಷ್ಟರವನು!

Chớ thì ai có sức xây cất cho Chúa một cái đền; vì trời và đến đỗi trời của các từng trời còn chẳng chứa Ngài được thay! Vậy tôi là ai, mà cất được một cái đền cho Chúa? Cất nó chẳng qua là để xông hương tại trước mặt Ngài đó thôi.
Thật ra không ai có khả năng xây nhà cho Chúa. Nếu tầng trời bao la kia còn không đủ chỗ cho Ngài ngự, thì tôi là ai mà xây cất được Đền Thờ cho Ngài? Tôi chỉ mong xây cất được một nơi để dâng hương lên Chúa mà thôi.
Ṣùgbọ́n ta ni ó le è kọ́ ilé fún Olúwa, níwọ̀n ìgbà tí àwọn ọ̀run, àní ọ̀run àwọn ọ̀run tó ga jùlọ, kò le è gbà á? Ta ni èmi nígbà náà láti kọ́ ilé fún Olúwa, bí kò ṣe kìkì àti sun ẹbọ sun ẹbọ níwájú rẹ̀?
