So they came up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like waters breaking out. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.

| فَتَوَجَّهَ دَاوُدُ إِلَى بَعْلِ فَرَاصِيمَ وَهَزَمَهُمْ هُنَاكَ. وَقَالَ دَاوُدُ: «قَدِ اقْتَحَمَ الرَّبُّ أَعْدَائِي كَاقْتِحَامِ الْمِيَاهِ الْمُتَدَفِّقَةِ». لِذَلِكَ دُعِيَ اسْمُ ذَلِكَ الْمَكَانِ بَعْلَ فَرَاصِيمَ (وَمَعْنَاهُ: سَيِّدُ الاقْتِحَامِ). |

তখন দায়ূদ ও তাঁর লোকেরা বাল্ পরাসীমে গিয়ে তাদের হারিয়ে দিলেন। দায়ূদ বললেন, “ঈশ্বর জলের বাঁধ ভাঙার মত আমার হাত দিয়ে আমার শত্রুদের ভেঙে ফেললেন।” এইজন্যই সেই জায়গার নাম বাল্ পরাসীম [ভাঙ্গা জায়গা] রাখা হল।
তখন দাউদ ও তাঁর লোকজন বায়াল-পরাসীমে উঠে গেলেন, ও সেখানে তিনি তাদের পরাজিত করলেন। তিনি বললেন, “জল যেভাবে বাঁধ ভেঙে বের হয়ে আসে, ঈশ্বরও সেভাবে আমার হাত দিয়ে আমার শত্রুদের ভেঙে দিয়েছেন।” তাই সেই স্থানটির নাম দেওয়া হল বায়াল-পরাসীম।

So David attacked and defeated them there at Baal-perazim. “God used me to defeat my enemies like a torrent of water that bursts out,” he declared. That's why the place was named Baal-perazim.
