These are the numbers of the heads of those who were armed for war, who came to David to Hebron to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the LORD’s word.

| וְאֵלֶּה מִסְפְּרֵי רָאשֵׁי הֶֽחָלוּץ לַצָּבָא בָּאוּ עַל־דָּוִיד חֶבְרוֹנָה לְהָסֵב מַלְכוּת שָׁאוּל אֵלָיו כְּפִי יְהוָֽה׃ |
| וְ֠אֵלֶּה מִסְפְּרֵ֞י רָאשֵׁ֤י הֶֽחָלוּץ֙ לַצָּבָ֔א בָּ֥אוּ עַל־דָּוִ֖יד חֶבְר֑וֹנָה לְהָסֵ֞ב מַלְכ֥וּת שָׁא֛וּל אֵלָ֖יו כְּפִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ ס |
फिर लोग लड़ने के लिये हथियार बाँधे हुए हेब्रोन में दाऊद के पास इसलिए आए कि यहोवा के वचन के अनुसार शाऊल का राज्य उसके हाथ में कर दें: उनके मुखियों की गिनती यह है।
हज़ारों सेना की टुकड़ियों की गिनती इस प्रकार है. ये सब दावीद के पास हेब्रोन में आए थे, कि उन्हें शाऊल का शासन सौंप दें, जैसी कि याहवेह का कहा गया वचन था:
