Some of Manasseh also joined David when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle, but they did not help them, for the lords of the Philistines sent him away after consultation, saying, “He will desert to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.”

وَسَقَطَ إِلَى دَاوُدَ بَعْضٌ مِنْ مَنَسَّى حِينَ جَاءَ مَعَ ٱلْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ ضِدَّ شَاوُلَ لِلْقِتَالِ وَلَمْ يُسَاعِدُوهُمْ، لِأَنَّ أَقْطَابَ ٱلْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ أَرْسَلُوهُ بِمَشُورَةٍ قَائِلِينَ: «إِنَّمَا بِرُؤُوسِنَا يَسْقُطُ إِلَى سَيِّدِهِ شَاوُلَ».
وَانْضَمَّ إِلَى دَاوُدَ بَعْضُ رِجَالِ مَنَسَّى حِينَ جَاءَ مَعَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ جَاءُوا لِمُحَارَبَةِ شَاوُلَ، وَلَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَشْتَرِكْ فِي الْمَعْرَكَةِ لأَنَّ أَقْطَابَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ تَدَاوَلُوا فِي أَمْرِهِ وَخَافُوا أَنْ يَنْقَلِبَ عَلَيْهِمْ لِيَحْظَى بِرِضَى شَاوُلَ، فَأَبْعَدُوهُ عَنِ الْمَعْرَكَةِ.
চৌলৰ বিৰুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ পলেষ্টীয়াসকলৰ লগত দায়ুদ যোৱাৰ সময়ত, মনচিৰ পৰা কিছুমান লোক আতৰিগৈ দায়ূদৰ ফলীয়া হ’ল। কিন্তু তেওঁলোকে ফিলিষ্টীয়াসকলক সহায় কৰা নাছিল, কাৰণ ফিলিষ্টীয়াসকলৰ অধিপতিসকলে ইজনে সিজনৰ সৈতে পৰামৰ্শ কৰি তেওঁক পঠিয়াই দিলে। তেওঁলোকে ক’লে, “তেওঁ আমাৰ জীৱন বিপদত পেলাই নিজৰ প্ৰভু চৌলৰ ফালে পলায়ন কৰিব।”
Davud Filiştlilərlə birgə müharibə etmək üçün Şaulun üstünə gələndə Menaşşelilərdən də bəzisi Davudun tərəfinə keçdi, ancaq Filiştlilərə kömək etmədilər. Çünki Filiştlilərin ağaları məsləhətləşib «Davud bizim başımızı verib ağası Şaulla barışacaq» dedilər və onu geri göndərdilər.

Others came over to David's side from the tribe of Manasseh and joined him when he went with Philistines to attack Saul. However, the Philistine rulers eventually decided to send them away, saying to themselves, “It will cost us our heads if he deserts us and goes over to his master Saul.”

So David welcomed those men, and he appointed them to be leaders of his soldiers. Some men from the tribe of Manasseh also joined David when he went with the soldiers of Philistia to fight against Saul’s [army]. But David and his men did not really help the army of Philistia. After the leaders of Philistia talked [about David and his soldiers], they sent David away. They said, “If David joins his master Saul again, we will all be killed {his army will kill all of us}!”

Nanso, asɛm no ani daneeɛ a Filistifoɔ ntuanofoɔ ampene so sɛ Dawid ne ne mmarima no bɛka wɔn ho akɔ. Wɔdwendwenee ho ara no, wɔmaa wɔsanee wɔn akyi kaa sɛ, “Sɛ Dawid dane nʼani kɔ Saulo afa de tia yɛn a, yɛn nkwa na yɛde bɛtwa so.”
І з Манасії перебігли до Давида, коли він ішов із филисти́млянами проти Саула на війну, — а він не поміг їм, бо филистимські князі́, порадившись, відіслали його, говорячи: „За ціну наших голів він хоче перейти до свого пана Саула!“

Lại có những người Ma-na-se bỏ hàng ngũ Ít-ra-ên theo Đa-vít khi ông cùng với người Phi-li-tin đi đánh Sau-lơ. Nhưng về sau, các nhà lãnh đạo Phi-li-tin hội thảo, rồi bảo Đa-vít quay về, vì họ nói rằng: “Chúng ta sẽ trả giá bằng đầu của mình nếu Đa-vít quay về với Sau-lơ và chống lại chúng ta.”
