< Isaiah 5 >

1 Èmi yóò kọrin fún ẹni tí mo fẹ́ràn orin kan nípa ọgbà àjàrà rẹ̀. Olùfẹ́ mi ní ọgbà àjàrà kan ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ òkè ẹlẹ́tù lójú.
Let me sing, I pray you, for a well-beloved of mine, The song of my beloved concerning his vineyard: —A vineyard, had my well-beloved on a very fruitful hill;
2 Ó tu ilẹ̀ rẹ̀, ó ṣa òkúta ibẹ̀ kúrò ó sì gbin àyànfẹ́ àjàrà sí i. Ó kọ́ ilé ìṣọ́ sí inú rẹ̀ ó sì ṣe ìfúntí kan síbẹ̀ pẹ̀lú. Lẹ́yìn náà, ó ń retí èso àjàrà dáradára, ṣùgbọ́n èso búburú ni ó ti ibẹ̀ wá.
And he thoroughly digged it, And gathered out the stones thereof, And planted it with a precious vine, And built a tower in the midst thereof, Moreover also a wine-press, hewed he therein, —Then waited he that it should bring forth grapes. And it brought forth wild grapes:
3 “Ní ìsinsin yìí ẹ̀yin olùgbé Jerusalẹmu àti ẹ̀yin ènìyàn Juda ẹ ṣe ìdájọ́ láàrín èmi àti ọgbà àjàrà mi.
Now, therefore, O inhabitant of Jerusalem, And men of Judah, —Judge, I pray you, betwixt me, and my vineyard: —
4 Kín ni ó kù tí n ò bá túnṣe sí ọgbà àjàrà mi. Ju èyí tí mo ti ṣe lọ? Nígbà tí mo ń wá èso dáradára, èéṣe tí ó fi so kíkan?
What could have been done further to my vineyard, That I had not done in it? Why then—When I had waited that it should bring forth grapes, Brought it forth, wild grapes?
5 Ní ìsinsin yìí, èmi yóò wí fún ọ ohun tí n ó ṣe sí ọgbà àjàrà mi. Èmi yóò gé igi inú rẹ̀ kúrò, a ó sì pa á run, Èmi yóò wó ògiri rẹ̀ lulẹ̀ yóò sì di ìtẹ̀mọ́lẹ̀.
Now, therefore, I pray you, let me tell, you, what I am about to do to my vineyard, —To take away the fence thereof And it shall be eaten up, To destroy the wall thereof And it shall be trodden down;
6 Èmi yóò sì sọ ọ́ di ahoro láì kọ ọ́ láì ro ó, ẹ̀wọ̀n àti ẹ̀gún ni yóò hù níbẹ̀. Èmi yóò sì pàṣẹ fún kurukuru láti má ṣe rọ̀jò sórí i rẹ̀.”
And I will make it a waste; —It shall be neither pruned nor hoed, But there shall come up briars and thorns, —And upon the clouds, will I lay a charge, That they rain thereon no rain.
7 Ọgbà àjàrà Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ni ilé Israẹli àwọn ọkùnrin Juda sì ni àyànfẹ́ ọgbà rẹ̀. Ó retí ìdájọ́ ẹ̀tọ́ ṣùgbọ́n, ìtàjẹ̀ sílẹ̀ ni ó rí. Òun ń retí òdodo ṣùgbọ́n ó gbọ́ ẹkún ìpayínkeke.
Surely the vineyard of Yahweh of hosts, is the house of Israel, And, the men of Judah, are the plantation in which he dearly delighted, —And he waited, For equity but lo! murderous iniquity, For the rule of right but lo the cry of the wronged.
8 Ègbé ni fún àwọn tí ń kọ́lé mọ́lé tí ó sì ń ra ilẹ̀ mọ́lẹ̀ tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí ààyè kò ṣẹ́kù tí ó sì nìkan gbé lórí ilẹ̀.
Alas for them who join house to house, Field to field, bring they near, —Until there is no room, But ye are left to dwell alone in the midst of the land.
9 Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ti sọ ọ́ sí mi létí: “Ó dájú pé àwọn ilé ńlá ńlá yóò di ahoro, àwọn ilé dáradára yóò wà láìní olùgbé.
In mine ears, [said] Yahweh of hosts, —Verily, houses in abundance, shall become, a desolation, Large and fair, without inhabitant;
10 Ọgbà àjàrà sáré oko mẹ́wàá yóò mú ìkòkò wáìnì kan wá, nígbà tí òsùwọ̀n homeri kan yóò mú agbọ̀n irúgbìn kan wá.”
For, ten yokes of vineyard, shall yield one bath, —And the seed of a homer, shall yield an ephah,
11 Ègbé ni fún àwọn tí wọ́n dìde ní kùtùkùtù òwúrọ̀ láti lépa ọtí líle, tí wọ́n sì mu ún títí alẹ́ fi lẹ́ títí wọ́n fi gbinájẹ pẹ̀lú wáìnì.
Alas, for them who rise early in the morning that strong drink, they may pursue, —Who follow on in the evening cool [until] with wine, they are heated;
12 Wọ́n ní dùùrù àti ohun èlò orin olókùn níbi àsè wọn, ṣaworo òun fèrè àti wáìnì, ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò ka iṣẹ́ Olúwa sí, wọn kò sí bọ̀wọ̀ fún iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ rẹ̀.
And it cometh to pass—that lyre and harp, timbrel and flute and wine are in their banquets, —But, the doing of Yahweh, they do not discern, And the work of his hands, have they not seen.
13 Nítorí náà àwọn ènìyàn mi yóò lọ sí ìgbèkùn nítorí òye kò sí fún wọn, ebi ni yóò pa àwọn ọlọ́lá wọn kú; ẹgbàágbèje wọn ni òǹgbẹ yóò sì gbẹ.
Therefore, are my people taken away captive before they know it, —And their honourable men are famished with hunger, And, their multitude, do gape for thirst.
14 Nítorí náà isà òkú ti ń dátọ́mì gidigidi, ó sì ti ya ẹnu rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ gbagada, nínú rẹ̀ ni àwọn gbajúmọ̀ àti mẹ̀kúnnù yóò sọ̀kalẹ̀ sí pẹ̀lú ọlá àti ògo wọn. (Sheol h7585)
Therefore, hath hades enlarged her desire, And opened her mouth to its widest, —And their glory, and their multitude and their pomp. and he that is uproarious shall descend thereinto. (Sheol h7585)
15 Báyìí, ènìyàn yóò di ìrẹ̀sílẹ̀ àti ọmọ ènìyàn ni a sọ di onírẹ̀lẹ̀ ojú agbéraga ni a sì rẹ̀ sílẹ̀.
And the mean man hath been bowed down And the mighty man hath been humbled, —Yea the looks of the haughty shall be humbled.
16 Ṣùgbọ́n Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ni a ó gbéga nípa ẹ̀tọ́ rẹ̀, Ọlọ́run ẹni mímọ́ yóò sì fi ara rẹ̀ hàn ní mímọ́ nípa òdodo rẹ̀.
But Yahweh of hosts, hath been exalted, in justice, —And the GOD that is holy hath been hallowed in righteousness;
17 Nígbà náà ni àwọn àgùntàn yóò máa jẹ́ ko ní ibùgbé e wọn, àwọn ọ̀dọ́-àgùntàn yóò máa jẹ nínú ahoro àwọn ọlọ́rọ̀.
Then shall the young rams feed where they please, —And, the wastes of the wealthy, shall strangers consume.
18 Ègbé ni fún àwọn tí ń fi ohun asán fa ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, àti àwọn tí o dàbí ẹni pé wọ́n ń fi okùn kẹ̀kẹ́ ẹ̀sìn fa ẹsẹ̀,
Alas! for them Who draw on themselves punishment with cords of falsehood, —And as with waggon-bands, penalty:
19 sí àwọn tí ó sọ pé, “Jẹ́ kí Ọlọ́run ṣe kíákíá, jẹ́ kí ó yára ṣiṣẹ́ rẹ̀ kí a lè rí i, jẹ́ kí ó súnmọ́ bí jẹ́ kí ètò ẹni mímọ́ Israẹli kí ó dé, kí àwa kí ó le mọ̀ ọ́n.”
Who say—Let his work quicken—let it hasten, That we may see, —And let the purpose of Israel’s Holy One, draw near and come. That we may know!
20 Ègbé ni fún àwọn tí ń pe ibi ní rere, àti rere ní ibi, tí ń fi òkùnkùn ṣe ìmọ́lẹ̀ àti ìmọ́lẹ̀ ṣe òkùnkùn, tí ń fi ìkorò ṣe adùn àti adùn ṣe ìkorò.
Alas! for them Who call evil good and good evil, —Who put darkness for light and light for darkness, Who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
21 Ègbé ni fún àwọn tí ó gbọ́n lójú ara wọn tí wọ́n jáfáfá lójú ara wọn.
Alas for them Who are wise in their own eyes, —And in their own sight, are prudent.
22 Ègbé ni fún àwọn akọni nínú wáìnì mímu àti àwọn akíkanjú nínú àdàlú ọtí,
Alas for them Who are heroes to drink wine, —And men of valour to mingle strong drink,
23 tí wọ́n dá ẹlẹ́bi sílẹ̀ nítorí àbẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀, tí wọn sì du aláre ní ẹ̀tọ́.
Who justify the lawless, for a bribe, —Whereas the righteousness of the righteous, they take from him.
24 Nítorí náà, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ahọ́n iná ṣe ń jó àgékù koríko run àti bí koríko ṣe rẹlẹ̀ wẹ̀sì nínú iná, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni egbò wọn yóò jẹrà tí òdodo wọn yóò sì fẹ́ lọ bí eruku: nítorí pé wọ́n ti kọ òfin Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun sílẹ̀ wọ́n sì gan ọ̀rọ̀ Ẹni mímọ́ Israẹli.
Therefore, As a tongue of fire, eateth up straw, And a flame reduceth, dry grass, to powder, Their root, like rottenness, shall become, And their blossom, like dust shall ascend, —Because they refused the law of Yahweh of hosts, And the utterance of the Holy One of Israel, they despised.
25 Nítorí náà, ìbínú Olúwa gbóná si àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀, ó ti gbé ọwọ́ rẹ̀ sókè, ó sì lù wọ́n bolẹ̀. Àwọn òkè sì wárìrì, òkú wọn sì dàbí ààtàn ní àárín ìgboro. Pẹ̀lú gbogbo èyí, ìbínú rẹ̀ kò yí kúrò, ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀wọ́ rẹ̀ sì ná jáde síbẹ̀.
For this cause, did the anger of Yahweh kindle upon his own people, And he stretched out his hand against them and smote them—So that the mountains, trembled, And, their dead bodies, served, for fuel in the midst of the streets. For all this, hath his anger, not turned back, But still, is his hand outstretched,
26 Yóò sì gbé ọ̀págun sókè sí àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè tí ó jìnnà, yóò sì kọ sí wọn tí ó wà ní ìpẹ̀kun ilẹ̀. Sì kíyèsi, wọ́n yóò yára wá kánkán.
Therefore will he lift up an ensign to the nations afar off, And signal for him from the end of the earth, —And lo! with hot haste, will he come:
27 Kò sí ẹni tí yóò rẹ̀ nínú wọn, tàbí tí yóò kọsẹ̀, kò sí ẹni tí yóò tòògbé tàbí tí yóò sùn; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àmùrè ẹ̀gbẹ́ wọn kì yóò tú, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni okùn sálúbàtà wọn kì yóò ja.
None shall be weary, and none shall stumble in his midst, He shall neither slumber nor sleep, —Nor shall be loosened, the girdle of his loins, Nor snapped, the thong of his sandals:
28 Àwọn ọfà wọn múná, gbogbo ọrun wọn sì le; pátákò àwọn ẹṣin wọn le bí òkúta akọ, àwọn àgbá kẹ̀kẹ́ wọn sì dàbí ìjì líle.
Whose arrows, are sharpened, and all his bows, bent, —The hoofs of his horses, like flint, are accounted, And, his wheels, [are] like a storm-wind:
29 Bíbú wọn dàbí tí kìnnìún, wọ́n bú bí ẹgbọrọ kìnnìún, wọ́n ń kọ bí wọ́n ti di ẹran ọdẹ wọn mú tí wọn sì gbé e lọ láìsí ẹni tí yóò gbà á là.
A roar, hath he, like a lioness, —He will roar like wild lions—And will growl, and lay hold on prey, and carry into safety, and there be none to deliver.
30 Ní ọjọ́ náà, wọn yóò hó lé e lórí gẹ́gẹ́ bí i rírú omi Òkun. Bí ènìyàn bá sì wo ilẹ̀, yóò rí òkùnkùn àti ìbànújẹ́; pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú ìmọ́lẹ̀ yóò di òkùnkùn pẹ̀lú kurukuru rẹ̀.
Yea he will growl at him in that day, like the growling of the sea, —Though he look hard for the land, lo! the darkness of distress, Yea the light, hath grown dark in its clouds!
