< 2 Kings 23 >

1 Nígbà náà ọba pe gbogbo àwọn àgbàgbà Juda àti Jerusalẹmu jọ.
And the king sent, and they gathered to him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem.
2 Ó gòkè lọ sí ilé Olúwa pẹ̀lú àwọn ọkùnrin Juda, àwọn ènìyàn Jerusalẹmu, àwọn àlùfáà àti àwọn wòlíì—gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn láti ibi kéékèèké sí ńlá. Ó kà á sí etí ìgbọ́ ọ wọn, gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ tí ó wà nínú ìwé májẹ̀mú, tí a ti rí nínú ilé Olúwa.
And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he read in their hearing all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the LORD.
3 Ọba sì dúró lẹ́bàá òpó, ó sì sọ májẹ̀mú di tuntun níwájú Olúwa, láti tẹ̀lé Olúwa àti láti pa òfin rẹ̀ mọ́, ìlànà àti òfin pẹ̀lú gbogbo ọkàn rẹ̀ àti gbogbo ẹ̀mí rẹ̀, àti láti ṣe ìwádìí àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ májẹ̀mú tí a kọ sínú ìwé yìí. Nígbà náà, gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn sì ṣèlérí fúnra wọn sí májẹ̀mú náà.
And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all their heart and all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people joined in the covenant.
4 Ọba sì pàṣẹ fún Hilkiah olórí àlùfáà àti àwọn, àlùfáà tí ó tẹ̀lé e ní ipò àti àwọn olùṣọ́nà láti yọ kúrò nínú ilé Olúwa gbogbo ohun èlò tí a ṣe fún Baali àti Aṣerah àti gbogbo ẹgbẹ́ ogun ọ̀run. Ó sì sun wọ́n ní ìta Jerusalẹmu ní pápá àfonífojì Kidironi. Ó sì kó eérú wọn jọ sí Beteli.
And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them to Bethel.
5 Ó sì kúrò pẹ̀lú àwọn àlùfáà abọ̀rìṣà tí a yàn láti ọwọ́ ọba Juda láti sun tùràrí ní ibi gíga ti ìlú Juda àti àwọn tí ó yí Jerusalẹmu ká. Àwọn tí ó ń sun tùràrí sí Baali, sí oòrùn àti òṣùpá, sí àwọn àmì ìràwọ̀ àti sí gbogbo ẹgbẹ́ ogun ọ̀run.
And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places around Jerusalem; them also that burned incense to Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.
6 Ó mú ère òrìṣà Aṣerah láti ilé Olúwa sí àfonífojì Kidironi ní ìta Jerusalẹmu, ó sì sun wọ́n níbẹ̀. Ó lọ̀ ọ́ bí àtíkè ó sì fọ́n eruku náà sórí isà òkú àwọn ènìyàn tí ó wọ́pọ̀.
And he brought out the grove from the house of the LORD, without Jerusalem, to the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and stamped it small to powder, and cast the powder of it upon the graves of the children of the people.
7 Ó sì wó ibùgbé àwọn ọkùnrin alágbèrè ojúbọ òrìṣà lulẹ̀. Tí ó wà nínú ilé Olúwa àti ibi tí àwọn obìnrin tí ń ṣe iṣẹ́ aṣọ híhun fún òrìṣà Aṣerah.
And he broke down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.
8 Josiah kó gbogbo àwọn àlùfáà láti àwọn ìlú Juda ó sì ba ibi mímọ́ wọ̀n-ọn-nì jẹ́ láti Geba sí Beerṣeba, níbi tí àwọn àlùfáà ti sun tùràrí. Ó wó àwọn ojúbọ lulẹ̀ ní ẹnu ìlẹ̀kùn—ní ẹnu-ọ̀nà àbáwọlé ti Joṣua, baálẹ̀ ìlú ńlá tí ó wà ní apá òsì ẹnu ìlẹ̀kùn ìlú ńlá.
And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burnt incense, from Geba to Beersheba, and broke down the high places of the gates that were in the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man’s left hand at the gate of the city.
9 Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ wí pé, àwọn àlùfáà ibi gíga kò jọ́sìn ní ibi pẹpẹ Olúwa ní Jerusalẹmu, wọ́n jẹ nínú àkàrà aláìwú pẹ̀lú àwọn àlùfáà ẹlẹgbẹ́ ẹ wọn.
Nevertheless the priests of the high places came not up to the altar of the LORD in Jerusalem, but they ate of the unleavened bread among their brethren.
10 Ó sì ba ohun mímọ́ Tofeti jẹ́, tí ó wà ní àfonífojì Beni-Hinnomu, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kò sí ẹnìkan tí ó lè lò ó fún ẹbọ rírú fún ọmọ rẹ̀ ọkùnrin tàbí ọmọ rẹ̀ obìnrin nínú iná sí Moleki.
And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech.
11 Ó sì kúrò láti ẹnu-ọ̀nà àbáwọlé sí ilé Olúwa, àwọn ẹṣin tí àwọn ọba Juda ti yà sọ́tọ̀ sí oòrùn náà. Wọ́n wà nínú ilé ẹjọ́ lẹ́bàá yàrá oníṣẹ́ tí orúkọ rẹ̀ a máa jẹ́ Natani-Meleki. Josiah sì sun àwọn kẹ̀kẹ́ tí a yà sọ́tọ̀ fún oòrùn.
And he took away the horses that the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entrance of the house of the LORD, by the chamber of Nathanmelech the chamberlain, which was in the common lands, and burned the chariots of the sun with fire.
12 Ó wó o palẹ̀ pẹpẹ tí àwọn ọba Juda ti wọ́n gbé dúró ní orí òrùlé lẹ́bàá yàrá òkè ti Ahasi pẹ̀lú àwọn pẹpẹ tí Manase ti kọ́ nínú ilé ẹjọ́ méjèèjì sí ilé Olúwa. Ó ṣí wọn kúrò níbẹ̀, ó fọ́ wọn sí wẹ́wẹ́. Ó sì da ekuru wọn sínú àfonífojì Kidironi.
And the altars that were on the top of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the LORD, did the king beat down, and broke them down from there, and cast the dust of them into the brook Kidron.
13 Ọba pẹ̀lú ba ohun mímọ́ àwọn ibi gíga jẹ́ tí ó wà ní ìhà ìlà-oòrùn Jerusalẹmu ní ìhà gúúsù ti òkè ìbàjẹ́—èyí tí Solomoni ọba Israẹli ti kọ́ fún Aṣtoreti ọlọ́run ìríra àwọn ará Sidoni, fún Kemoṣi ọlọ́run ìríra àwọn ará Moabu àti fún Moleki, ọlọ́run ìríra àwọn ènìyàn Ammoni.
And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of Ammon, did the king defile.
14 Josiah fọ́ òkúta yíyà sọ́tọ̀, ó sì gé ère Aṣerah lulẹ̀. Ó sì bo ẹ̀gbẹ̀gbẹ́ ẹ rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú egungun ènìyàn.
And he broke in pieces the images, and cut down the groves, and filled their places with the bones of men.
15 Àní pẹpẹ tí ó wà ní Beteli ibi gíga tí Jeroboamu ọmọ Nebati dá. Tí ó ti fa Israẹli láti ṣẹ̀, àní pẹpẹ náà àti ibi gíga tí ó fọ́ túútúú. Ó jó àwọn ibi gíga, ó sì lọ̀ ọ́ sí ẹ̀tù, ó sì sun ère Aṣerah pẹ̀lú.
Moreover the altar that was at Bethel, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he broke down, and burned the high place, and stamped it small to powder, and burned the grove.
16 Nígbà náà, Josiah wò yíká, nígbà tí ó sì rí àwọn isà òkú tí ó wà níbẹ̀ ní ẹ̀bá òkè, ó yọ egungun kúrò lára wọn, ó sì jó wọn lórí pẹpẹ láti sọ ọ́ di èérí ní ìbámu pẹ̀lú ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tí a ti kéde láti ọ̀dọ̀ ènìyàn Ọlọ́run tí ó ti àwọn nǹkan wọ̀nyí tẹ́lẹ̀.
And as Josiah turned himself, he espied the sepulchres that were there on the mount, and sent, and took the bones out of the sepulchres, and burned them upon the altar, and polluted it, according to the word of the LORD which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these words.
17 Ọba sì béèrè pé, “Kí ni ọwọ̀n isà òkú yẹn tí mo rí?” Àwọn ọkùnrin ìlú ńlá wí pé, “Ó sàmì sí isà òkú ènìyàn Ọlọ́run tí ó wá láti Juda, tí ó sì kéde ìdojúkọ pẹpẹ Beteli, ohun kan wọ̀nyí tí ìwọ ti ṣe sí wọn.”
Then he said, What title is that which I see? And the men of the city told him, It is the sepulchre of the man of God, who came from Judah, and proclaimed these things that thou hast done against the altar of Bethel.
18 “Fi sílẹ̀ nìkan,” Ó wí pé. “Má ṣe jẹ́ kí ẹnikẹ́ni ó da àwọn egungun rẹ̀ láàmú.” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n dá egungun rẹ̀ sí àti ti àwọn wòlíì tí ó wá láti Samaria.
And he said, Let him alone; let no man move his bones. So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet that came out of Samaria.
19 Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti ṣe ní Beteli, Josiah sì kúrò, ó sì ba gbogbo ojúbọ òrìṣà ti ibi gíga jẹ́, tí àwọn ọba Israẹli ti kọ́ sí àwọn ìlú ní Samaria, tí ó ti mú Olúwa bínú.
And all the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the LORD to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Bethel.
20 Josiah dúńbú gbogbo àwọn àlùfáà ibi gíga lórí pẹpẹ. Ó sì sun egungun ènìyàn lórí wọn. Nígbà náà, ó padà lọ sí Jerusalẹmu.
And he slew all the priests of the high places that were there upon the altars, and burnt men’s bones upon them, and returned to Jerusalem.
21 Ọba pàṣẹ fún gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn pé, “Ẹ ṣe ìrántí àjọ ìrékọjá sí Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, gẹ́gẹ́ bí a ti kọ ọ́ sí inú ìwé májẹ̀mú yìí.”
And the king commanded all the people, saying, Keep the passover to the LORD your God, as it is written in the book of this covenant.
22 Kì í ṣe láti ọjọ́ àwọn Juda tí ó tọ́ Israẹli, ní gbogbo àwọn ọjọ́ àwọn ọba Israẹli àti àwọn ọba Juda. Ṣé wọ́n ti ṣe ìrántí àjọ ìrékọjá rí.
Surely there was not held such a passover from the days of the judges that judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah;
23 Ṣùgbọ́n ní ọdún kejìdínlógún tí ọba Josiah, àjọ ìrékọjá yìí ni a ṣe ìrántí sí Olúwa ní Jerusalẹmu.
But in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, when this passover was held to the LORD in Jerusalem.
24 Síwájú sí, Josiah sì lé àwọn oṣó àti àwọn ẹ̀mí ní àwọn ìdílé, àti àwọn òrìṣà àti gbogbo àwọn nǹkan ìríra tí a rí ní Juda àti ní Jerusalẹmu. Èyí ni ó ṣe kí ó le è mú ọ̀rọ̀ òfin náà ṣe ní ti òfin tí a kọ sínú ìwé tí Hilkiah àlùfáà ti rí nínú ilé Olúwa.
Moreover the mediums, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD.
25 Kò sì sí ọba kankan níwájú tàbí lẹ́yìn Josiah tí ó dàbí rẹ̀, tí ó yí padà sí olúwa tinútinú àti gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti ṣe tọkàntọkàn pẹ̀lú gbogbo ẹ̀mí i rẹ̀, pẹ̀lú gbogbo agbára rẹ̀ ní ìbámu pẹ̀lú gbogbo òfin Mose.
And like him was there no king before him, that turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.
26 Bí ó ti wù kí ó rí Olúwa kò yípadà kúrò nínú ìmúná ìbínú ńlá rẹ̀ tí ó jó sí Juda, nítorí gbogbo èyí tí Manase ti ṣe láti mú un bínú.
However the LORD turned not from the fierceness of his great wrath, with which his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations by which Manasseh had provoked him.
27 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Olúwa wí pé, “Èmi yóò mú Juda kúrò pẹ̀lú níwájú mi, bí mo ti mú Israẹli, èmi yóò sì kó Jerusalẹmu, ìlú ńlá tí mo yàn àti ilé Olúwa yìí, nípa èyí tí mo sọ, ‘Níbẹ̀ ni orúkọ mi yóò wà?’”
And the LORD said, I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.
28 Fún ti ìyókù iṣẹ́ nígbà ìjọba Josiah, àti gbogbo ohun tí ó ṣe, ṣé a kò kọ wọ́n sí inú ìwé ìtàn ayé àwọn ọba Juda?
Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
29 Nígbà tí Josiah jẹ́ ọba, Farao Neko ọba Ejibiti gòkè lọ sí odò Eufurate láti lọ ran ọba Asiria lọ́wọ́. Ọba Josiah jáde lọ láti lọ bá a pàdé lójú ogun ṣùgbọ́n Neko dojúkọ ọ́, ó sì pa á ní Megido.
In his days Pharaohnechoh king of Egypt went up against the king of Assyria to the river Euphrates: and king Josiah went against him; and he slew him at Megiddo, when he had seen him.
30 Ìránṣẹ́ Josiah gbé ara rẹ̀ wá nínú kẹ̀kẹ́ láti Megido sí Jerusalẹmu ó sì sin ín sínú isà òkú rẹ̀. Àwọn ènìyàn ilẹ̀ náà mú Jehoahasi ọmọ Josiah. Ó fi àmì òróró yàn án, ó sì ṣe é ní ọba ní ipò baba a rẹ̀.
And his servants carried him in a chariot dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own sepulchre. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in his father’s stead.
31 Jehoahasi sì jẹ́ ẹni ọdún mẹ́tàlélógún nígbà tí ó di ọba, ó sì jẹ ọba ní Jerusalẹmu fún oṣù mẹ́ta. Orúkọ ìyá rẹ̀ a máa jẹ́ Hamutali ọmọbìnrin Jeremiah; ó wá láti Libina.
Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
32 Ó ṣe búburú lójú Olúwa gẹ́gẹ́ bí baba a rẹ̀ ti ṣe.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.
33 Farao Neko sì fi sí inú ìdè ní Ribla ní ilẹ̀ Hamati, kí ó má ba à lè jẹ ọba ní Jerusalẹmu. Ó sì tan Juda jẹ fun iye ìwọ̀n ẹgbẹ̀rin tálẹ́ǹtì wúrà kan.
And Pharaohnechoh put him in bonds at Riblah in the land of Hamath, that he might not reign in Jerusalem; and subjected the land to a tribute of an hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold.
34 Farao Neko ṣe Eliakimu ọmọ Josiah ní ọba ní ipò baba rẹ̀ Josiah. Ó sì yí orúkọ Eliakimu padà sí Jehoiakimu. Ṣùgbọ́n ó mú Jehoahasi, ó sì gbé e lọ sí Ejibiti, níbẹ̀ ni ó sì kú.
And Pharaohnechoh made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the stead of Josiah his father, and changed his name to Jehoiakim, and took Jehoahaz away: and he came to Egypt, and died there.
35 Jehoiakimu sì san fún Farao Neko fàdákà àti wúrà tí ó béèrè. Láti ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀, ó bu owó òde fún ilẹ̀ náà láti san, ó fi agbára gba fàdákà àti wúrà láti ọwọ́ àwọn ènìyàn ilẹ̀ náà ní ìbámu pẹ̀lú iye tí a pín.
And Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: he exacted the silver and the gold from the people of the land, from every one according to his assessment, to give it to Pharaohnechoh.
36 Jehoiakimu jẹ́ ẹni ọdún mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dọ́gbọ̀n nígbà tí ó di ọba, ó sì jẹ ọba ní Jerusalẹmu fún ọdún mọ́kànlá orúkọ ìyá rẹ̀ ni Sebida ọmọbìnrin Pedaiah ó wá láti Ruma.
Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Zebudah, the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah.
37 Ó sì ṣe búburú lójú Olúwa gẹ́gẹ́ bí baba a rẹ̀ ti ṣe.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.
