< 1 Kings 16 >

1 Ó sì ṣe, ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa sì tọ Jehu ọmọ Hanani wá sí Baaṣa pé,
And the word of Jehovah came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
2 “Èmi ti gbé ọ ga láti inú erùpẹ̀ wá, mo sì fi ọ́ ṣe olórí Israẹli ènìyàn mi, ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ sì rìn ní ọ̀nà Jeroboamu, ó sì mú kí Israẹli ènìyàn mi dẹ́ṣẹ̀, láti mú mi bínú nípa ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn.
Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel, and thou have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins,
3 Nítorí náà, èmi yóò mú Baaṣa àti ilé rẹ̀ kúrò, èmi yóò sì ṣe ilé rẹ̀ bí ilé Jeroboamu ọmọ Nebati.
behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house, and I will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
4 Àwọn ajá yóò jẹ ẹni Baaṣa tí ó bá kú ní ìlú, ẹyẹ ojú ọ̀run yóò sì jẹ àwọn tí ó kú ní oko.”
He of Baasha who dies in the city shall the dogs eat, and he of his who dies in the field shall the birds of the heavens eat.
5 Àti ìyókù ìṣe Baaṣa, ohun tí ó ṣe àti agbára rẹ̀, a kò ha kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ọ̀rọ̀ ọjọ́ àwọn ọba Israẹli?
Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
6 Baaṣa sì sùn pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀, a sì sin ín ní Tirsa. Ela ọmọ rẹ̀ sì jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀.
And Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah, and Elah his son reigned in his stead.
7 Ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa sì wá nípa ọwọ́ Jehu wòlíì ọmọ Hanani pẹ̀lú sí Baaṣa àti ilé rẹ̀, nítorí gbogbo búburú tí ó ti ṣe níwájú Olúwa, ní mímú un bínú nípa ohun tó ti ṣe àti wíwà bí ilé Jeroboamu, àti nítorí tí ó pa á run pẹ̀lú.
And moreover the word of Jehovah came against Baasha by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani, and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he smote him.
8 Ní ọdún kẹrìndínlọ́gbọ̀n Asa ọba Juda, Ela ọmọ Baaṣa bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ní jẹ ọba ní Israẹli, ó sì jẹ ọba ní Tirsa ní ọdún méjì.
In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah, and reigned two years.
9 Simri, ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀, olórí ìdajì kẹ̀kẹ́ rẹ̀, dìtẹ̀ sí i. Ela sì wà ní Tirsa nígbà náà, ó sì mu àmupara ní ilé Arsa, ìríjú ilé rẹ̀ ni Tirsa.
And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah.
10 Simri sì wọlé, ó sì kọlù ú, ó sì pa á ní ọdún kẹtàdínlọ́gbọ̀n Asa, ọba Juda, ó sì jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀.
And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
11 Bí ó sì ti bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ní jẹ ọba, bí ó sì ti jókòó lórí ìtẹ́, ó lu gbogbo ilé Baaṣa pa, kò ku ọkùnrin kan sílẹ̀, bóyá ìbátan tàbí ọ̀rẹ́.
And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he smote all the house of Baasha. He left him not a single man-child, neither of his kinfolks, nor of his friends.
12 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Simri pa gbogbo ilé Baaṣa run, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tí ó sọ sí Baaṣa nípa ọwọ́ Jehu wòlíì:
Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha according to the word of Jehovah, which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
13 nítorí gbogbo ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ tí Baaṣa àti Ela ọmọ rẹ̀ ti ṣẹ̀ àti tí wọ́n ti mú Israẹli ṣẹ̀, tí wọ́n fi mú Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli bínú, wọ́n mú u bínú nípa òrìṣà asán wọn.
for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned, and with which they made Israel to sin, to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
14 Ìyókù ìṣe Ela àti gbogbo ohun tí ó ṣe, a kò ha kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ọ̀rọ̀ ọjọ́ àwọn ọba Israẹli?
Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15 Ní ọdún kẹtàdínlọ́gbọ̀n Asa ọba Juda, ni Simri jẹ ọba ọjọ́ méje ní Tirsa. Àwọn ọmọ-ogun sì dó ti Gibetoni, ìlú àwọn ará Filistini.
In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
16 Nígbà tí àwọn ọmọ Israẹli tí ó dó tì gbọ́ wí pé Simri ti dìtẹ̀ sí ọba, ó sì ti pa á, wọ́n kéde Omri, olórí ogun, bí ọba lórí Israẹli ní ọjọ́ náà ní ibùdó.
And the people who were encamped heard say, Zimri has conspired, and has also smitten the king. Therefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.
17 Nígbà náà ni Omri àti gbogbo Israẹli pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ kúrò ní Gibetoni, wọ́n sì dó ti Tirsa.
And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
18 Nígbà tí Simri sì ri pé a ti gba ìlú, ó sì wọ inú ààfin ilé ọba lọ, ó sì tẹ iná bọ ilé ọba lórí ara rẹ̀, ó sì kú,
And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the castle of the king's house, and burnt the king's house over him with fire,
19 nítorí àwọn ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀ tí ó ti ṣẹ̀, ní ṣíṣe búburú níwájú Olúwa àti ní rírìn ní ọ̀nà Jeroboamu àti nínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀ tí ó ti ṣe àti tí ó ti mú Israẹli ṣẹ̀.
and died for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did to make Israel to sin.
20 Ní ti ìyókù ìṣe Simri, àti ọ̀tẹ̀ rẹ̀ tí ó dì, a kò ha kọ wọ́n sínú ìwé ọ̀rọ̀ ọjọ́ àwọn ọba Israẹli?
Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he wrought, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
21 Nígbà náà ní àwọn ènìyàn Israẹli dá sí méjì; apá kan wọn ń tọ Tibni ọmọ Ginati lẹ́yìn, láti fi í jẹ ọba, apá kan tókù sì ń tọ Omri lẹ́yìn.
Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts; half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king, and half followed Omri.
22 Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ènìyàn tí ń tọ Omri lẹ́yìn borí àwọn tí ń tọ Tibni ọmọ Ginati lẹ́yìn. Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Tibni kú, Omri sì jẹ ọba.
But the people who followed Omri prevailed against the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath. So Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
23 Ní ọdún kọkànlélọ́gbọ̀n Asa ọba Juda, Omri bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ń jẹ ọba lórí Israẹli, ó sì jẹ ọba ní ọdún méjìlá, ọdún mẹ́fà ní Tirsa.
In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel, and reigned twelve years. He reigned six years in Tirzah.
24 Ó sì ra òkè Samaria lọ́wọ́ Ṣemeri ní tálẹ́ǹtì méjì fàdákà, ó sì kọ́ ìlú sórí rẹ̀, ó sì pe ìlú náà ní Samaria, nípa orúkọ Ṣemeri, orúkọ ẹni tí ó kọ́kọ́ ni òkè náà.
And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver. And he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill, Samaria.
25 Ṣùgbọ́n Omri sì ṣe búburú níwájú Olúwa, Ó sì ṣe búburú ju gbogbo àwọn tí ó wà ṣáájú rẹ̀ lọ.
And Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and dealt wickedly above all who were before him.
26 Ó rìn ní gbogbo ọ̀nà Jeroboamu ọmọ Nebati àti nínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ̀, èyí tí ó ti mú Israẹli ṣẹ̀, láti fi ohun asán wọn mú Olúwa, Ọlọ́run Israẹli bínú.
For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins with which he made Israel to sin, to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
27 Ìyókù ìṣe àti ohun tí Omri ṣe, àti agbára rẹ tí ó fihàn, a kò ha kọ, wọ́n sínú ìwé ọ̀rọ̀ ọjọ́ àwọn ọba Israẹli?
Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
28 Omri sì sùn pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀ a sì sin ín ní Samaria. Ahabu ọmọ rẹ̀ sì jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀.
So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria, and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.
29 Ní ọdún kejìdínlógójì Asa ọba Juda, Ahabu ọmọ Omri jẹ ọba ní Israẹli, o si jẹ ọba lórí Israẹli ní Samaria ní ọdún méjìlélógún.
And in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel. And Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.
30 Ahabu ọmọ Omri sì ṣe búburú ní ojú Olúwa ju gbogbo àwọn tí ó wà ṣáájú rẹ̀ lọ.
And Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah above all who were before him.
31 Ó sì ṣe bí ẹni pé ó ṣe ohun kékeré fún un láti máa rìn nínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ Jeroboamu ọmọ Nebati, ó sì mú Jesebeli, ọmọbìnrin Etibaali, ọba àwọn ará Sidoni ní aya, ó sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ń sin Baali, ó sì bọ ọ́.
And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshiped him.
32 Ó sì tẹ́ pẹpẹ kan fún Baali nínú ilé Baali tí ó kọ́ sí Samaria.
And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
33 Ahabu sì túnṣe ère òrìṣà Aṣerah, ó sì ṣe púpọ̀ láti mú Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli bínú ju èyí tí gbogbo ọba Israẹli tí ó ti wà ṣáájú rẹ̀ ti ṣe lọ.
And Ahab made the Asherah. And Ahab did yet more to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
34 Ní ìgbà ayé Ahabu, Hieli ará Beteli kọ́ Jeriko. Ó fi ìpìlẹ̀ rẹ̀ lé ilẹ̀ ní Abiramu, àkọ́bí rẹ, ó sì gbé àwọn ìlẹ̀kùn ibodè rẹ̀ kọ́ ní Segubu àbíkẹ́yìn rẹ̀, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tí ó ti ipa Joṣua ọmọ Nuni sọ.
In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho. He laid the foundation of it with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates of it with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
