< Psalms 49 >

1 Nkunga bana ba babakala ba Kole kuidi pfumu minyimbidi. Luwa diambu diadi beno batu boso: Ludimba beno batu boso lunzinganga va nza yayi,
For the leader. Of the Korahites. A psalm. Hear this, you peoples all; attend, all you who live in the world
2 batu baphamba ayi batu banneni, zimvuama ayi minsukami.
people of low degree and high, the rich and the poor together.
3 Munuꞌama wela tuba mambu ma nduenga, mamo mantotukila mu ntimꞌama mela vana tsudukulu.
My mouth shall utter wisdom, the thoughts of a seeing heart.
4 Ndiela balula dikutu diama mu diambu di wa zingana, mu ngitala, ndiela sudikisila nongoꞌama.
I incline my ear to a proverb, on the lyre I will open my riddle.
5 Bila mbi mfueti monina tsisi bilumbu bi mbimbi bu bizidi, mu thangu mambimbi ma bobo beti vuna batu manzungididi e?
Why should I be afraid in the days of misfortune, when circled by wicked and cunning foes,
6 Bantulanga diana diawu mu bima biawu ayi beti kukiniemisa mu kimvuama kiawu kiwombo.
who put their trust in their wealth, and boast of their boundless riches?
7 Mutu kalendi baka bu kuidila ko, luzingu lu mutu wunkaka, voti futa thalu yi khudulu andi kuidi Nzambi.
For assuredly no one can ransom themselves, or give to God the price of their life,
8 Thalu yi khudulu yi luzingu yibeki luvalu lunneni, kuisi ko kadi mfutu wulenda dedakana,
for the ransom of a life is costly, no payment is ever enough,
9 mu diambu kazinga mu zithangu zioso ayi kabika bola.
to keep them alive for ever and ever, so as never to see the pit at all.
10 Bila babo beti mona ti bankua nduenga balembo fua; bivungisi ayi bivulu balembo fua mamvawu, ayi balembo biki bima biawu kuidi batu bankaka.
But see it they will. Even wise people die, the fool and the brutish perish alike, and abandon their wealth to others.
11 Biziami biawu biela banga zinzo ziawu mu zithangu zioso; bibuangu biawu biobi beta vuanda mu tsungi ka tsungi. Beti vana mazina mawu mu mintoto miawu bu bafuidi.
The grave is their everlasting home, the place they shall live in for ever and ever, though after their own names they called whole lands.
12 Vayi mutu, ka diambu ko beki kimvuama kazinganga buwombo ko. Dedikini banga bibulu bieti fua.
Despite their wealth, they perish like dumb animals.
13 Mawu mama mambu meti buila batu bobo beti tula diana mu bawu veka ayi bobo beti kuba landakana, bobo beti kikina mambu beti tuba.
This is the fate of the confident fool, and the end of those who are pleased with their portion. (Selah)
14 Banga nkangu wu mamemi, bakubuku mu diambu di tsi bafua; lufua luela kuba dia. Mutu widi ntima wululama wela kuba yadila va nsuka buphila buawu buela bola ku tsi bafua, thama ayi zinzo ziawu zi kipfumu. (Sheol h7585)
Like sheep they descend to Sheol with Death for their shepherd; down they go straight to the grave, and their form wastes away in their home below. (Sheol h7585)
15 Vayi Nzambi wela kula luzingu luama mu lulendo lu tsi bafua, bukiedika wela kuthambula mu diambu diandi veka. (Sheol h7585)
But God will assuredly ransom my life from the hand of Sheol; for he will receive me. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
16 Kadi mona tsisi mutu bu kalembo baki kimvuama kiezila ki nzo andi bu kilembo buelama.
So be not afraid when someone grows rich, when the wealth of their house increases.
17 Bila kalendi nata kadi kima ko mu thangu kela fua. Kiezila kiandi kilendi kuluka yandi ko.
Not a shred of it all can they take when they die, wealth cannot follow them down.
18 Bu kabedi moyo wukimona mutu wu lusakumunu ayi batu beti kuzitisa bu weti mona lusakumunu bu kabedi monanga mamboti.
Though they count themselves happy, when they are alive, and win praise from many for faring so well,
19 Wela kuenda bata tsungi yi madise mandi; bobo balendi buela mona kiezila ko ki luzingu.
they must join their ancestors, who see the light nevermore.
20 Mutu widi kimvuama ayi kambulu diela widi banga bulu kieti fua.
The wealthy are without understanding, they perish like dumb animals.
