I Sử Ký 4

1 Con trai của Giu-đa là Phê-rết, Hết-rôn, Cạt-mi, Hu-rơ và Sô-banh.

And the sons of Juda; Phares, Esrom, and Charmi, and Or, Subal,

2 Rê-a-gia, con trai Sô-banh sanh Gia-hát; Gia-hát sanh A-hu-mai và La-hát. Ấy là các họ hàng của dân Xô-ra-tít.

and Rada his son; and Subal begot Jeth; and Jeth begot Achimai, and Laad: these [are] the generations of the Arathites.

3 Ðây là con cháu của A-bi-Ê-tam: Gít-rê-ên, Dít-ma và Di-ba; em gái họ là Ha-sê-lê-bô-ni.

And these [are] the sons of Aetam; Jezrael and Jesman, and Jebdas: and their sister's name [was] Eselebbon.

4 Lại có Phê-nu-ên, là tổ phụ của Ghê-đô, và Ê-xe, tổ phụ của Hu-sa. Ấy là con cháu của Hu-rơ, con trưởng nam của Ép-ra-ta, tổ phụ của Bết-lê-hem.

And Phanuel the father of Gedor, and Jazer the father of Osan: these [are] the sons of Or, the firstborn of Ephratha, the father of Baethalaen.

5 A-su-rơ, tổ phụ của Thê-cô-a, lấy hai vợ là Hê-lê-a và Na-a-ra.

And Asur the father of Thecoe had two wives, Aoda and Thoada.

6 Na-a-ra sanh A-hu-xam, Hê-phe, Thê-mê-ni, và A-hách-tha-ri.

And Aoda bore to him Ochaia, and Ephal, and Thaeman, and Aasther: all these [were] the sons of Aoda.

7 Ấy là các con trai của Na-a-ra. Con trai của Hê-lê-a là Xê-rết, Xô-ha, và Ết-nan.

And the sons of Thoada; Sereth, and Saar, and Esthanam.

8 Ha-cốt sanh A-núp, Hát-xô-bê-ba, và dòng A-ha-hên, con Ha-rum.

And Coe begot Enob, and Sabatha, and the progeny of the brother of Rechab, the son of Jarin.

9 Gia-bê được tôn trọng hơn anh em mình; mẹ người đặt tên là Gia-bê, vì nói rằng: Ta sanh nó trong sự đau đớn.

And Igabes was more famous than his brethren; and his mother called his name Igabes, saying, I have born as a sorrowful one.

10 Gia-bê khấn nguyện với Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên rằng: Chớ chi Chúa ban phước cho tôi, mở bờ cõi tôi rộng lớn; nguyện tay Chúa phù giúp tôi, giữ tôi được khỏi sự dữ, hầu cho tôi chẳng buồn rầu! Ðức Chúa Trời bèn ban cho y như sự người cầu nguyện.

And Igabes called on the God of Israel, saying, O that you would indeed bless me, and enlarge my coasts, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would make me know that you will not grieve me! And God granted him all that he asked.

11 Kê-lúp, anh em của Su-ha, sanh Mê-hia, tổ phụ của Ê-tôn.

And Chaleb the father of Ascha begot Machir; he [was] the father of Assathon.

12 Ê-tôn sanh nhà Ra-pha, Pha-sê-a, và Tê-hi-na, tổ tiên của dân thành Na-hách. Ấy là những người Rê-ca.

He begot Bathraias, and Bessee, and Thaeman the founder of the city of Naas the brother of Eselom the Kenezite: these [were] the men of Rechab.

13 Con trai của Kê-na là Oát-ni-ên và Sê-ra-gia. Con trai của Oát-ni-ên là Ha-thát.

And the sons of Kenez; Gothoniel, and Saraia: and the sons of Gothoniel; Athath.

14 Mê-ô-nô-thai sanh Oùp-ra; Sê-ra-gia sanh Giô-áp, tổ phụ của các người ở trũng thợ mộc, vì họ đều là thợ mộc.

And Manathi begot Gophera: and Saraia begot Jobab, the father of Ageaddair, for they were artificers.

15 Các con trai của Ca-lép, cháu của Giê-phu-nê, là Y-ru, Ê-la, và Na-am, cùng những con trai của Ê-la và Kê-na.

And the sons of Chaleb the son of Jephonne; Er, Ada, and Noom: and the sons of Ada, Kenez.

16 Con trai của Giê-ha-lê-le là Xíp, Xi-pha, Thi-ria, và A-sa-rên.

And the sons of Aleel, Zib, and Zepha, and Thiria, and Eserel.

17 Con trai của E-xơ-ra là Giê-the, Mê-rết, Ê-phe, và Gia-lôn. Vợ của Mê-rết sanh Mi-ri-am, Sa-mai, và Dít-bác, tổ phụ của Ếch-tê-mô-a.

And the sons of Esri; Jether, Morad, and Apher, and Jamon: and Jether begot Maron, and Semei, and Jesba the father of Esthaemon.

18 Vợ người là dân Giu-đa, sanh Giê-rệt, tổ phụ của Ghê-đô, Hê-be, tổ phụ của Sô-cô, và Giê-cu-ti-ên, tổ phụ của Xa-nô-a. Ấy là con cháu của Bi-thia, con gái của Pha-ra-ôn, mà Mê-rết cưới lấy.

And his wife, that [is] Adia, bore Jared the father of Gedor, and Aber the father of Sochon, and Chetiel the father of Zamon: and these [are] the sons of Betthia the daughter of Pharao, whom Mored took.

19 Con trai của vợ Hô-đia, chị em Na-ham, là cha của Kê-hi-la, người Gạc-mít, và Ếch-tê-mô-a, người Ma-ca-thít.

And the sons of the wife of Iduia the sister of Nachaim the father of Keila; Garmi, and Esthaemon the Nochathite.

20 Con trai của Si-môn là Am-môn, Ri-na, Bên-Ha-nan, và Ti-lôn. Con trai của Di-si là Xô-hết và Bên-Xô-hết.

And the sons of Semon; Amnon, and Ana the son of Phana, and Inon: and the sons of Sei, Zoan, and the sons of Zoab.

21 Con cháu Sê-la, con trai Giu-đa, là Ê-rơ, tổ phụ của Lê-ca, La-ê-đa, tổ phụ của Ma-rê-sa, và các họ hàng về dòng dõi Ách-bê-a, là kẻ dệt vải gai mịn;

The sons of Selom the son of Juda; Er the father of Lechab, and Laada the father of Marisa, and the offspring of the family of Ephrathabac [belonging to] the house of Esoba.

22 lại có Giô-kim, và những người Cô-xê-ba, Giô-ách, và Sa-ráp, là người cai trị đất Mô-áp, cùng Gia-su-bi-Lê-chem. Ấy là điều cổ tích.

And Joakim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joas, and Saraph, who lived in Moab, and he changed their names to Abederin and Athukiim.

23 Những người nầy là thợ gốm, ở tại Nê-ta-im, và Ghê-đê-ra; chúng ở gần vua mà làm công việc người.

These [are] the potters who lived in Ataim and Gadira with the king: they grew strong in his kingdom, and lived there.

24 Con trai của Si-mê-ôn là Nê-mu-ên, Gia-min, Gia-ríp, Xê-ra, Sau-lơ;

The sons of Semeon; Namuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zares, Saul:

25 Sa-lum, con trai của Sau-lơ, Míp-sam, con trai của Sa-lum, và Mích-ma, con trai của Míp-sam.

Salem his son, Mabasam his son, Masma his son:

26 Con trai của Mích-ma là Ham-mu-ên, con trai của Xa-cu là Si-mê -i.

Amuel his son, Sabud his son, Zacchur his son, Semei his son.

27 Còn Si-mê -i có mười sáu con trai và sáu con gái; song anh em người không đông con; cả họ hàng chúng sánh với số người Giu-đa thì kém.

Semei [had] sixteen sons, and six daughters; and his brethren had not many sons, neither did all their families multiply as the sons of Juda.

28 Chúng ở tại Bê -e-Sê-ba, tại Mô-la-đa, tại Ha-xa-Sua,

And they lived in Bersabee, and Molada, and in Esersual,

29 tại Bi-la, tại Ê-xem, và tại Tô-lát;

and in Balaa, and in Aesem, and in Tholad,

30 lại ở tại Bê-tu-ên, Họt-ma, và Xiếc-lác;

and in Bathuel, and in Herma, and in Sikelag,

31 ở tại Bết-Ma-ca-bốt, Hát-sa-Su-sim, Bết-Bi-rê, và tại Sa-a-ra-im. Ấy là các thành của chúng cho đến đời vua Ða-vít.

and in Baethmarimoth, and Hemisuseosin, and the house of Baruseorim: these [were] their cities until [the time of] king David.

32 Chúng cũng có năm hương thôn, là Ê-tam, A-in, Rim-môn, Tô-ken, và A-san,

And their villages [were] Aetan, and En, Remnon, and Thocca, and Aesar, five cities.

33 cùng các thôn ấp bốn phía của các hương thôn nầy cho đến Ba-anh. Ấy là chỗ ở và gia phổ của chúng.

And all their villages [were] round about these cities, as far as Baal: this [was] their possession, and their distribution.

34 Lại, Mê-sô-báp, Giam-léc, Giô-sa, con trai của A-ma-xia;

And Mosobab, and Jemoloch, and Josia the son of Amasia;

35 Giô-ên và Giê-hu, là con trai Giô-xơ-bia, cháu Sê-ra-gia, chắt A-si-ên;

and Joel, and Jeu the son of Asabia, the son of Sarau, the son of Asiel;

36 lại có Ê-li-ô-ê-nai, Gia-cô-ba, Giê-sô-hai-gia, A-sa-gia, A-đi-ên, Giê-si-mi-ên, Bê-na-gia,

and Elionai, and Jocaba, and Jasuia, and Asaia, and Jediel, and Ismael, and Banaias;

37 Xi-xa, con trai của Si-phi, cháu của A-lôn, chắt của Giê-đa-gia, chít của Sim-ri, là con trai của Sê-ma-gia.

and Zuza the son of Saphai, the son of Alon, the son of Jedia, the son of Semri, the son of Samaias.

38 Những người kể từng tên nầy là trưởng tộc trong họ mình, tông tộc chúng thì thêm lên rất nhiều.

These went by the names of princes in their families, and they increased abundantly in their fathers' households.

39 Chúng sang qua Ghê-đô, đến bên phía đông của trũng, để kiếm đồng cỏ cho đoàn súc vật mình.

And they went till they came to Gerara, to the east of Gai, to seek pasture for their cattle.

40 Chúng bèn thấy đồng cỏ tươi tốt; còn đất thì rộng rãi, yên lặng và bình an; khi trước dòng dõi Cham ở đó.

And they found abundant and good pastures, and the land before them [was] wide, and [there was] peace and quietness; for [there were] some of the children of Cham who lived there before.

41 Những người đã kể tên trước đây, trong đời Ê-xê-chia, vua nước Giu-đa, kéo đến đánh các trại quân của chúng, và những người Ma-ô-nít ở đó, tuyệt hết họ, chiếm lấy đất, và ở thay vào cho đến ngày nay; bởi vì tại đó có đồng cỏ để nuôi bầy súc vật của họ.

And these who are written by name came in the days of Ezekias king of Juda, and they struck the people's houses, and the Minaeans whom they found there, and utterly destroyed them until this day: and they lived in their place, because [there was] pasture there for their cattle.

42 Trong dòng Si-mê-ôn có năm trăm người tiến đến núi Sê -i-rơ; các quan-cai họ là Phê-la-tia, Nê-a-ria, Rê-pha-gia, và U-xi-ên; ấy là các con trai của Di-si.

And some of them, [even] of the sons of Symeon, went to mount Seir, [even] five hundred men; and Phalaettia, and Noadia, and Raphaia, and Oziel, sons of Jesi, [were] their rulers.

43 Chúng đánh người A-ma-léc còn sót lại, rồi ở đó cho đến ngày nay.

And they struck the remnant that were left of Amalec, until this day.
