I Sử Ký 13
1 Ða-vít hội nghị với quan tướng ngàn quân, quan tướng trăm quân, cùng các quan trưởng của dân.
And Dauid counselled with the captaines of thousandes and of hundreths, and with all the gouernours.
2 Ða-vít nói với cả hội chúng Y-sơ-ra-ên rằng: Nếu các ngươi lấy đều nầy làm tốt lành, và nếu sự nầy do nơi Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời chúng ta mà đến, thì ta hãy sai người đi khắp mọi nơi, đến cùng anh em chúng ta còn lại ở khắp xứ Y-sơ-ra-ên, và đến cùng những thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi ở trong các thành địa hạt chúng, để nhóm chúng lại cùng ta;
And Dauid said to all the Congregation of Israel, If it seeme good to you, and that it proceedeth of the Lord our God, we will sende to and from vnto our brethren, that are left in all the lande of Israel (for with them are the Priests and the Leuites in the cities and their suburbes) that they may assemble them selues vnto vs.
3 rồi chúng ta phải thỉnh hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời về cùng chúng ta; vì trong đời Sau-lơ, chúng ta không có đến trước hòm giao ước mà cầu vấn Ðức Chúa Trời.
And we will bring againe the Arke of our God to vs: for we sought not vnto it in the dayes of Saul.
4 Cả hội chúng đều nói rằng nên làm như vậy; vì cả dân sự lấy lời ấy làm tốt lành.
And all the Congregation answered, Let vs doe so: for the thing seemed good in the eyes of all the people.
5 Ða-vít bèn nhóm cả Y-sơ-ra-ên, từ Si-ho, khe Ê-díp-tô, cho đến nơi nào Ha-mát, để rước hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời từ Ki-ri-át-Giê-a-rim về.
So Dauid gathered all Israel together from Shihor in Egypt, euen vnto the entring of Hamath, to bring the Arke of God from Kiriath-iearim.
6 Ða-vít và cả Y-sơ-ra-ên đồng đi lên Ba-a-la, tại Ki-ri-át-Giê-a-rim, thuộc về Giu-đa, đặng rước hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời lên, tức là Ðức Giê-hô-va ngự giữa Chê-ru-bin, là nơi cầu khẩn danh của Ngài.
And Dauid went vp and all Israel to Baalath, in Kiriath-iearim, that was in Iudah, to bring vp from thence the Arke of God the Lord that dwelleth betweene the Cherubims, where his Name is called on.
7 Chúng rước hòm giao ước của Ðức Chúa Trời từ nhà A-bi-na-đáp, để lên trên một cái cộ mới; còn U-xa và A-hi-ô thì dắt cộ.
And they caryed the Arke of God in a newe cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Vzza and Ahio guided the cart.
8 Ða-vít và cả Y-sơ-ra-ên đều hết sức vui chơi trước mặt Ðức Chúa Trời, xướng ca, dùng đờn cầm, đờn sắt, trống nhỏ, chập chỏa, và kèn mà vui mừng.
And Dauid and all Israel played before God with all their might, both with songes and with harpes, and with violes, and with timbrels and with cymbales and with trumpets.
9 Khi chúng đến sân đạp lúa của Ki-đôn, U-xa bèn giơ tay ra nắm lấy hòm, bởi vì bò trợt bước.
And when they came vnto the thresshing floore of Chidon, Vzza put forth his hand to holde the Arke, for the oxen did shake it.
10 cơn thịnh nộ của Ðức Giê-hô-va nổi lên cùng U-xa, và Ngài đánh người, bởi vì người có giơ tay ra trên hòm; người bèn chết tại đó trước mặt Ðức Chúa Trời.
But the wrath of the Lord was kindled against Vzza, and he smote him, because he layed his hande vpon the Arke: so he dyed there before God.
11 Ða-vít chẳng vừa ý, vì Ðức Giê-hô-va đã hành hạ U-xa; người gọi nơi ấy là Bê-rết -U-xa, hãy còn gọi vậy cho đến ngày nay.
And Dauid was angrie, because the Lord had made a breach in Vzza, and he called the name of that place Perez-vzza vnto this day.
12 Trong ngày ấy, Ða-vít lấy làm sợ hãi Ðức Chúa Trời, mà nói rằng: Ta rước hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời vào nhà ta sao được?
And Dauid feared God that day, saying, Howe shall I bring in to me the Arke of God?
13 Vậy, Ða-vít không thỉnh hòm về nhà mình tại trong thành Ða-vít, nhưng bởi đem để vào nhà Ô-bết-Ê-đôm, là người Gát.
Therefore Dauid brought not the Arke to him into the citie of Dauid, but caused it to turne into the house of Obed Edom the Gittite.
14 Hòm của Ðức Chúa Trời ở ba tháng trong nhà Ô-bết-Ê-đôm; Ðức Giê-hô-va ban phước cho nhà Ô-bết-Ê-đôm và mọi vật thuộc về người.
So the Arke of God remained in the house of Obed Edom, euen in his house three moneths: and the Lord blessed the house of Obed Edom, and all that he had.
