< 5 Mose 9 >

1 Ao Israel, montie! Morekɔtwa Yordan na moawura mu akɔgye aman a ɛsoso na wɔwɔ ahoɔden kyɛn mo na wɔwɔ nkuropɔn akɛseɛ na wɔn afasuo kɔka sorosoro no agyapadeɛ.
Hear, Israel: you are to pass over the Jordan this day, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fortified up to the sky,
2 Nnipa no wɔ ahoɔden na wɔwoware—Anakfoɔ. Moate wɔn nka na moate sɛ wɔka sɛ, “Hwan na ɔbɛtumi ne Anakfoɔ agyina?”
a people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, whom you know, and of whom you have heard say, "Who can stand before the sons of Anak?"
3 Nanso, merehyɛ mo ase ɛnnɛ sɛ, Awurade mo Onyankopɔn na ɔredi mo anim te sɛ ogya dɛreɛ a ɛresɛe adeɛ. Ɔbɛsɛe wɔn. Ɔbɛbrɛ wɔn ase wɔ mo anim. Na moapam wɔn na moatɔre wɔn ase ntɛm pa ara sɛdeɛ Awurade hyɛɛ mo bɔ no.
Know therefore this day, that the LORD your God is he who goes over before you as a devouring fire; he will destroy them, and he will bring them down before you: so you shall drive them out, and make them to perish quickly, as the LORD has spoken to you.
4 Sɛ Awurade, mo Onyankopɔn, tu wɔn gu a, monnka no wɔ mo akoma mu sɛ, “Esiane yɛn tenenee enti na Awurade de saa asase yi ama yɛn.” Dabi. Esiane sɛ aman no yɛ amumuyɛfoɔ no enti na Awurade reyɛ saa.
Do not say in your heart, after the LORD your God has thrust them out from before you, saying, "For my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land"; because the LORD drives them out before you because of the wickedness of these nations.
5 Ɛnyɛ sɛ moyɛ ateneneefoɔ ne nokwafoɔ no enti na morekɔfa wɔn asase no. Esiane wɔn amumuyɛ enti, Awurade, mo Onyankopɔn, bɛpamo saa aman yi adi mo anim de akyerɛ sɛ, wadi ntam a ɔka kyerɛɛ mo agyanom Abraham, Isak ne Yakob no so.
Not for your righteousness, or for the uprightness of your heart, do you go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD does drive them out from before you, and that he may establish the word which he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
6 Meka bio sɛ, ɛnyɛ sɛ moyɛ teneneefoɔ enti na Awurade, mo Onyankopɔn, de saa asase pa yi rema mo. Ɛnte saa. Moyɛ ɔman a asoɔden ahyɛ mo ma.
Know therefore, that the LORD your God doesn't give you this good land to possess it for your righteousness; for you are a stiff-necked people.
7 Monkae yei na mommma mo werɛ mfiri sɛdeɛ mohyɛɛ Awurade, mo Onyankopɔn Abufuo wɔ ɛserɛ so hɔ no. Ɛfiri ɛberɛ a motu firii Misraim bɛsi sɛ moduruu ha yi, moate Awurade anim atua.
Remember, do not forget, how you provoked the LORD your God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that you went forth out of the land of Egypt, until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against the LORD.
8 Mohyɛɛ Awurade abufuo wɔ Horeb a anka ɔpɛ sɛ ɔsɛe mo.
Also in Horeb you provoked the LORD to wrath, and the LORD was angry with you to destroy you.
9 Mekɔɔ bepɔ no so sɛ merekɔgye aboɔ twerɛpono a na wɔatwerɛ apam a na Awurade ne mo apam no agu so no, metenaa hɔ nnafua aduanan. Mannidi na mannom.
When I was gone up onto the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, even the tablets of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights; I neither ate bread nor drank water.
10 Awurade de apam a ɛwɔ aboɔ twerɛpono so a Onyankopɔn ankasa atwerɛ so nsɛm maa me. Ɔfiri ogya a ɛwɔ bepɔ no so no mu na ɔde maa me.
The LORD delivered to me the two tablets of stone written with the finger of God; and on them were all the words which the LORD spoke with you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.
11 Na adaduanan awia ne anadwo no baa awieeɛ no, Awurade de aboɔ ɛpono mmienu a wɔatwerɛ apam no wɔ so no maa me.
It came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that the LORD gave me the two tablets of stone, even the tablets of the covenant.
12 Afei, Awurade ka kyerɛɛ me sɛ, “Siane firi ha ntɛm kɔ, ɛfiri sɛ, nnipa a wodii wɔn anim firi Misraim no adane abɔnefoɔ. Wɔamane afiri ɛkwan a mehyɛɛ wɔn sɛ wɔntena ase no so dada, na wɔde sikakɔkɔɔ ayɛ ohoni afa.”
The LORD said to me, "Arise, get down quickly from here; for your people whom you have brought out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they have quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image."
13 Na Awurade ka kyerɛɛ me sɛ, “Mahwɛ saa nnipa yi ara ahunu sɛ, wɔn aso yɛ den pa ara.
Furthermore the LORD spoke to me, saying, "I have seen this people, and look, it is a stiff-necked people:
14 Ma me ɛkwan na mensɛe na mempepa wɔn din mfiri ɔsoro ase. Na menam so mayɛ wʼasefoɔ ɔman kɛseɛ; ɔman a ɛso na ɛwɔ ahoɔden sene sɛdeɛ ɛte ɛnnɛ yi.”
let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under the sky; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they."
15 Enti, mesiane firii ogya bepɔ no so a aboɔ apono mmienu a apam no wɔ so no kura me.
So I turned and came down from the mountain, and the mountain was burning with fire: and the two tablets of the covenant were in my two hands.
16 Mʼase hɔ no, mehunuu sikakɔkɔɔ nantwie ba a mofiri mo bɔne kɛseɛ mu ayɛ atia Awurade, mo Onyankopɔn. Ankyɛre koraa na modane firii Awurade ɛkwan a ɔkyerɛɛ mo sɛ momfa so no so.
I looked, and look, you had sinned against the LORD your God; you had made yourselves a molten calf: you had turned aside quickly out of the way which the LORD had commanded you.
17 Enti, mepagyaa boɔ apono no kɔɔ soro ɛnna meto hwee fam. Mebubuu no wɔ mo anim.
I took hold of the two tablets, and cast them out of my two hands, and broke them before your eyes.
18 Afei, medaa Awurade anim awia ne anadwo adaduanan a manni burodo. Mannom nsuo. Meyɛɛ yei, ɛfiri sɛ moyɛɛ adeɛ a Awurade kyi, na ɛnam so maa ne bo fuu yie.
I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I neither ate bread nor drank water; because of all your sin which you sinned, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
19 Mesuro maa mo, ɛfiri sɛ, na Awurade ayɛ nʼadwene sɛ ɔbɛsɛe mo. Nanso, ɔtiee me bio.
For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, with which the LORD was angry against you to destroy you. But the LORD listened to me that time also.
20 Awurade bo fuu Aaron ara kɔsii sɛ anka ɔpɛ sɛ ɔsɛe no. Nanso, mebɔɔ mpaeɛ maa Aaron nso.
The LORD was very angry with Aaron to destroy him: and I prayed for Aaron also at the same time.
21 Mefaa mo bɔne no, nantwie ba a moayɛ no, na menanee no wɔ ogya mu yamoo no muhumuhu. Metoo ne mfuturo no guu asuwa a ɛtene firi bepɔ no so no mu.
I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it, grinding it very small, until it was as fine as dust: and I cast its dust into the brook that descended out of the mountain.
22 Mohyɛɛ Awurade abufuo wɔ Tabera, Masa ne Kibrot-Hataawa nso.
At Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibroth Hattaavah, you provoked the LORD to wrath.
23 Kades-Barnea nso, Awurade somaa mo wɔ saa ɔhyɛ yi so sɛ, “Monkɔ soro hɔ nkɔfa asase a mede ama mo no”. Nanso, motiaa Awurade mo Onyankopɔn ahyɛdeɛ no na moamfa mo ho anto no so antie nʼasɛm.
When the LORD sent you from Kadesh Barnea, saying, "Go up and possess the land which I have given you"; then you rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and you did not believe him, nor listen to his voice.
24 Aane, ɛfiri sɛ mehunuu mo no, daa mosɔre tia Awurade.
You have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.
25 Ɛno enti na ɛberɛ a Awurade sii nʼadwene pi sɛ ɔpɛ sɛ ɔsɛe mo no, mekɔdaa nʼanim awia ne anadwo nnafua aduanan no.
So I fell down before the LORD the forty days and forty nights that I fell down, because the LORD had said he would destroy you.
26 Mebɔɔ mpaeɛ kyerɛɛ Awurade sɛ, “Otumfoɔ Awurade, nsɛe wo ɔman ne wʼagyapadeɛ a wode wo kɛseyɛ agye asi hɔ na wode wo nsa a ɛyɛ den ayi wɔn afiri Misraim no.
I prayed to God, and said, "Lord GOD, do not destroy your people and your inheritance, that you have redeemed through your greatness, that you have brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
27 Yi wʼani firi saa nnipa asoɔdenfoɔ yi so na kae wʼasomfoɔ Abraham, Isak ne Yakob.
Remember your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; do not look to the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin,
28 Sɛ wosɛe saa nnipa yi a, Misraimfoɔ bɛka sɛ, ‘Awurade sɛee wɔn, ɛfiri sɛ, wantumi amfa wɔn ankɔ asase a ɔkaa ntam sɛ ɔde bɛma wɔn no so. Anaasɛ nso, wɔbɛka sɛ, ɔsɛee wɔn, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔtan wɔn; ɔde wɔn baa ɛserɛ so sɛ ɔrekɔkunkum wɔn.’
lest the land you brought us out from say, 'Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised to them, and because he hated them, he has brought them out to kill them in the wilderness.'
29 Nanso, wɔyɛ wo nkurɔfoɔ ne wʼagyapadeɛ a wonam tumi a ɛso ne wʼabasa a wama soɔ so yii wɔn.”
Yet they are your people and your inheritance, which you brought out by your great power and by your outstretched arm."
